Polebrook nursing home offers nursing, dementia and residential care to up to 52 older people.

Set in a quiet, leafy close in the chocolate-box village of Polebrook, Peterborough, the home offers a relaxing rural environment to its residents.
The home is primarily on the ground floor, with homely decorations and its own gardens. It has a specialised dementia unit. Bedrooms are decorated in a homely fashion and have telephone and television points.

Two activities coordinators work to provide engaging and stimulating activities for groups and individuals.

Mum came out of a 7-week stay in hospital in July into Polebrook Nursing Home. She was a resident in Polebrook until she died in early December. We will always be grateful for how she was cared for in Polebrook, and the fact that she lived so much longer than expected following her discharge from hospital
is, I think, a testament to the care she received there. The staff were all so friendly and dedicated- taking time to know Mum and respect her particular needs. The food was plentiful, varied and healthy. The cleaning/laundry was spotless. She was always saying how well looked after she was. The medical supervision and care were excellent too and I was always fully informed of any medical issues or changes to medication by the nurse. This truly felt like a home for Mum. Thank you for all you did for her to care for her in her final months.

The staff are always kind and cheerful. The home has constantly changing bright decorations which are stimulating for residents. The home is spotlessly clean and the staff seem to know Mum really well even though she cannot communicate anymore. I cannot fault the care they give mum.

My mother was moved to Polebrook in January 2023 after a rather extended stay in Hospital. My sister and I had to find a home with nursing care and, after a somewhat diligent and extensive search, we settled on Polebrook. What a marvellous choice we made. Although Mum took a while to settle into her
new home, the staff were nothing but kind and caring, from the Manager down, even the ancillary staff were fantastic. How lucky were we with our choice! To all of them, as a team, our family are grateful for Polebrook’s amazing kindness and humanity. Thank you all.

My mother has been a resident now for approximately 18 months. The staff are excellent and make up for any issues with the building showing some signs of its age. I am fully relaxed in regard to the care my mum is receiving.

Since Mum became a resident in June she has settled in well and is getting to know other residents. The staff are all so kind and I love seeing the way they interact with her. Continued support for my godmother, who's not the most cooperative person.
Since her arrival 6 months ago, there has been a noticeable improvement in her health and well-being and when her health goes a little awry, Polebrook act immediately to deal with any medical situation, including an overnight
stay in hospital if required and any of these issues are always communicated in a professional and timely manner.
She now enjoys three meals a day and regular activities to stimulate and involve her socially, even if there is resistance to do so.
Keep up the good work team Polebrook.

My dear mum was in the care of Polebrook Nursing Home for over five years and sadly passed away two weeks after her 102nd Birthday. The funeral, celebrating her long Life, was held last week and was very kindly attended by representatives from Polebrook. Their attendance was very much appreciated.
The
incredible care, kindness, thoughtfulness and love shown to Mum over the time that she was a resident was exemplary. Although my mum has been bedridden for the majority of her stay and unable to do anything for herself, you could see how much she appreciated the team members and raised many a smile and a laugh from them. We, as a family and her faithful friends, are so very grateful that she was treated with the utmost care and dignity and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was respectful and greeted us cheerfully, many times consoling me/us. We thank you so very much and shall miss seeing those cheerful faces.

My father moved into Polebrook Nursing Home on 31-12-2021 and to date, the home has kept me informed of how my dad is. Current Covid issues make things difficult! I can only review from 31-12-2021 to date, but to date appear to be satisfactory, thankfully. My father has dementia and Parkinson's. I have
spoken to my father several times on the phone. Due to the home being in lockdown due to a Covid outbreak among the staff, manager and residents, I have reviewed to the best of my knowledge.

My wife, aged 85, has only been at this care home for 2 months. It is ideal for her, being purpose-built, all ground floor and bedrooms almost all looking out over fairly spacious gardens. She is a residential Alzheimer's resident and a significant feature is that there is a nursing dementia care section
should such become necessary. There are very good lounges and activities, which are very beneficial for my wife who is still very sociable.

Watching the wonderful videos that you guys have done during Covid. My Auntie is in your care and she no longer remembers me. But watching her sing and smile with the staff in the video made me so reassured that she is loved and cared for.

My brother had complex Parkinson's disease. He was in a wheelchair and was able to see very little. He was very dependant for all his needs. He was a quiet, shy gentle gentleman and the staff were very aware and respectful of this. The care, kindness and understanding that they showed was very good,
and they were all always cheerful and positive. At his end, they used their knowledge and expertise, worked alongside his Parkinson's specialist and he was able to slip away quietly, at home and peacefully. I am very grateful to the whole staff for all they did for him.

One month after my wife entered this nursing home covid pandemic restrictions came in so visiting was very limited during the past year and it is therefore difficult to write a full review. My wife passed away on 3rd May 2021. Throughout the year myself and family were always kept informed of her condition
and we know that she was given excellent care throughout her time at Polebrook. The 'end of life' care given was excellent and arrangements were made to enable us to be with her regularly during this difficult period.

My father was transferred to Polebrook Nursing Home from hospital as they could do no more for him there. We felt so relieved that he died in such a lovely, caring and peaceful place as Polebrook. He was only there a short time, but when we visited he looked comfortable, calm, clean and cared for. Thank

I have been here for a little over a year, however, I used to work here back in 2016, but I left to live in Sweden with my husband for a while.
