The home is so well run. The staff are welcoming, caring and nothing is too much trouble. I visit my husband daily and have never experienced anything untoward. I would readily recommend this care home to anyone who wants their loved one to receive the care they deserve.

I visit about four to five ladies weekly and there are always activities going on and entertainment. We are very lucky to have four to five activity people every day and one at weekends. Yesterday they had an interactive learning experience which entailed them bringing snakes, spiders and all animals like that the residents always enjoy.
Mum has been a Polebrook resident since 2021 and has always been treated with kindness and respect. The care home is always clean and vibrant with many activities taking place. The whole team there was incredibly supportive to Dad on all his visits and has been very friendly and helpful to everyone else in our family, keeping us fully informed. Thanks very much to everyone there.
Thank you for your positive feedback and comments regarding the quality of care Mum receives from our happy and dedicated staff. We will pass on your words of appreciation to everyone. Kind regards.
The Manager and everyone at Polebrook provided the most wonderful supportive care to my brother-in-law over the last 8 weeks of his life. The kindness, sensitivity and commitment to the highest standards of care was remarkable - service of the highest professional standard, treating him with dignity, love and deeply personal care. Nothing was too much trouble. We and other visitors were always welcome. The atmosphere was one of warmth and trust- a very happy family. We cannot thank them enough.

Your comments will be passed on to our dedicated staff that make it possible to offer the service of care your brother-in-law experienced. We are very pleased that he was made comfortable, happy and at home with us. Kind regards.
Mum has been a resident for approximately 20 months. Her care over that time has been excellent. We have been kept informed of issues whenever necessary. The whole staff have her welfare at heart, and carry out their duties with compassion and understanding.

Our mum came for 2 weeks respite as an emergency and we were so grateful. We immediately felt she was in very good care and confident she would be safe. From the very beginning we as relatives were welcomed into the home as the staff were so friendly and open. We are so pleased that we can visit any time and nothing is too much trouble. We find all staff whatever their role show respect and care for our mum and us.

This was a respite stay of three weeks, following 11 days in hospital. We can’t praise Polebrook enough for the care they gave our loved one. Staff were kindness personified. Would recommend it to anyone.

My friend has only been at Polebrook for a short while, but the care that has been provided has been excellent. Staff and manager were very welcoming and kind. Staff are always smiling and friendly when they see you. My friend is very happy there, and it shows when I visit. And they're very happy for you to take your dog. Spotlessly clean.
We are really pleased that your friend has settled into life at Polebrook.
Our dedicated staff in all sectors will be happy to know their hard work and dedication are appreciated.
Thank you.
Dad passed away in December 2023, but despite the complex physical and mental issues that my father endured during this time, the staff continued to provide an excellent level of care. Mum is still a resident and continues to participate in the activities provided particularly the dancing.
I would highly recommend Polebrook Nursing Home for its care, consideration and the variety of activities that it provides for the residents. The communications and support for families is excellent.
Thank you for your support during such a very difficult time for our family.
Thank you.
My auntie moved to Polebrook Nursing Home in September. Was moved to nursing from residential as residential home could not cater for her needs. Within a matter of weeks, my auntie gained weight, her care at Polebrook, I feel, is second to none. All the staff are friendly and dedicated to their individual roles. At this time I am 100% satisfied the care and treatment my auntie is receiving.
Thank you for your fabulous review, we are so pleased that Auntie has settled into life at Polebrook. We all appreciate your feedback on the care provided by our dedicated team.
Mum came out of a 7-week stay in hospital in July into Polebrook Nursing Home. She was a resident in Polebrook until she died in early December. We will always be grateful for how she was cared for in Polebrook, and the fact that she lived so much longer than expected following her discharge from hospital is, I think, a testament to the care she received there. The staff were all so friendly and dedicated- taking time to know Mum and respect her particular needs. The food was plentiful, varied and healthy. The cleaning/laundry was spotless. She was always saying how well looked after she was. The medical supervision and care were excellent too and I was always fully informed of any medical issues or changes to medication by the nurse. This truly felt like a home for Mum. Thank you for all you did for her to care for her in her final months.
We all at Polebrook are happy that Mum's last few months spent with us made her feel comfortable, safe and happy. Also for yourself, it is reassuring to know that mum is being well cared for. All of our staff are hard-working caring and dedicated, they will really appreciate your kind words of appreciation.
Kind regards
Pamela
Happy with Polebrook Nursing & Residential Home. All good. Happy caring staff.
Thank you very much for your recent review. We really appreciate your positive comments, these will be passed on to all our staff and management.
Kind regards
Pamela
The staff are always kind and cheerful. The home has constantly changing bright decorations which are stimulating for residents. The home is spotlessly clean and the staff seem to know Mum really well even though she cannot communicate anymore. I cannot fault the care they give mum.
Kind regards,
Pamela
My mother was moved to Polebrook in January 2023 after a rather extended stay in Hospital. My sister and I had to find a home with nursing care and, after a somewhat diligent and extensive search, we settled on Polebrook. What a marvellous choice we made. Although Mum took a while to settle into her new home, the staff were nothing but kind and caring, from the Manager down, even the ancillary staff were fantastic. How lucky were we with our choice! To all of them, as a team, our family are grateful for Polebrook’s amazing kindness and humanity. Thank you all.
We will pass on your lovely comments, it is always a big boost when they can see their work is really appreciated.

Meet the Team (5)

Hi, my name is Jo, I work in Reception at Polebrook Nursing Home. I have been here for a little over a year, however, I used to work here back in 2016, but I left to live in Sweden with my husband for a while. Whilst we were there I managed to complete my Degree and I graduated in 2018. I really love being back here and love interacting with the residents and their friends and relations on a daily basis. The environment here is very calm, relaxing and super welcoming and I love coming to work every day! In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and walking my 2 dogs, Leo & Layla.

I've worked as housekeeper, in the laundry, as kitchen assistant over the years and I'm currently working as one of the cooks.
I enjoy working here at Polebrook because of the staff and residents.

I’ve been working at Polebrook for 3 years now. I first started as a carer and then moved onto feeding in the morning and at teatime.
I currently work as a kitchen assistant, and enjoy supporting the residents.
I enjoy cooking and gardening in my free time.

This is the second care home that I have been working at.
My favourite part about my job is talking to the residents when I come into work and having catch ups with them.
In my spare time, I enjoy sports, such as swimming and cycling.

I have been a nurse since 2015, and have been working in a hospital until 2019.
I am from a place near Venice in Italy, and have been living in England since 2015.
I cover both days and nights at Polebrook, so some days I feel like I live here!
In my spare time, I enjoy reading and watching TV.
