My mother is a resident, she has been in 9 months, and seems to have settled well.
The home is welcoming, clean and bright.
The bedroom is very nice with en suite.
The highlight of the week is having her hair and nails done.
We used to get to know what activities they had been doing, but that
seems to have lapsed.
I usually visit twice a week, and the rest of the family once a week.
Most of the staff are very welcoming.
Would recommend this care home.

This care home is very nice. It has a homely and quiet atmosphere. The whole team of carers, kitchen staff, clearners and managers are the most professional and polite mannered staff you could meet. My experience has been positive and my mother couldn;t be better cared for.
The premesis are clean
and tidy with nicely appointed bedrooms. All meals are prepared on the premesis. I would not hesitate to reommend this care home.

A very warm and friendly place, my partner and I were made very welcome on arrival (dinner and drinks all round). Thank you. My partner has various issues, but all are met admirably. All management & staff are very approachable & keep me informed on any concerns. The home is spotlessly clean & the food
excellent all freshly cooked. Activities are good. On visits I am made very welcome and go home knowing my partner is getting the best care possible

My mum has been a resident at Barnby Court for over 3 years and is very happy here. The staff are always very courteous and friendly to residents and visitors alike. I would definitely recommend Barnby Court to anyone who asked.

The care home, albeit a bit dated eg no en-suite facilities, is homely and comfortable. The staff are friendly, caring and professional, providing a first class service to residents and relatives. Ad hoc activities are enjoyed by the residents and relatives are always invited/included if present. Food
is always home-made and varied. Residents independence is always respected, as is their privacy and dignity. My father is well cared for by all.

My mums has been a resident since last June 2024.
She initially went in for rest bite but due to her decline in health I decided she needed more permanent care. It was such a relief knowing my mum is looked after so well, the care team at Barnby Moor are so lovely and they look after there residents
with compassion and empathy.
My Mum is happy and content living at the care home and I would not hesitate in choosing this care home in the future.

My aunt has been a resident for over two years and the care and attention she is given by all staff is amazing. My aunt doesnt like to join in with others very often, but all the staff take time to spend with her and encourage her to take part in all activities and events. Such a lovely warm and homely
atmosphere here and I know my aunt is very happy.

When Mum was diagnosed with onset dementia I knew the time would come she would need full time care as things got too much with her daily needs she moved into Barnby Court in late August 24 since then she has become a happy soul in her own little world with great home cooking plenty of care and love
as if she is their own loved one always straight onto any medical issues or health concerns mum tends to wonder about alot with her illness and I know the staff have always got one eye on her at all times they have great activities and entertainment for the residents can take part in and always enjoy mum has adjusted into her new little world very well in her new home which gives me great relief she is happy and safe Barnby Court was a great choice offered to us and so glad we chose it and a plus it's close to me so I can visited easily always a happy environment when I visit credit to the manager and her team

I am very happy with the care that Mum is getting at Farthings - as is she! My brothers and I had heard good word-of-mouth reports of the home when she initially needed short-term respite care and count ourselves very fortunate that she has been able to continue with longer-term care as needed. The
carers are great and so supportive and friendly. The manager and deputy manager have always been responsive whenever I've been in touch about anything. Mum's room really feels like home with her favourite pictures up and some key bits of furniture and it's great to visit her there. The activities programme is varied and well thought out and the parties are really fun too!

Farthings is a lovely residential care home and my mum has settled in there well. She's been there for two years. Her room is adequate for her current needs and is kept clean and tidy. The building is a converted farmhouse and retains many of its original characters. This helps create a homely feel
as opposed to purpose-built facilities. However, it creates some issues in terms of lack of storage space etc.
The care staff are amazing which is reflected in her care. They treat my mum with kindness and dignity. Any issues raised with care staff are dealt with promptly and effectively within their remit. Management staff sometimes be unavailable in person, but emails and other messaging are generally dealt with in a reasonable amount of time. Records could be improved and care plans are often not completed on time but reflect my mum's needs.
Food and drink are ample and good variety available for residents. All of which is prepared and cooked on site.
I would recommend this care home.

A caring environment for my mum. It's getting harder to have an idea of some things such as facilities and activities. As my mum's dementia worsens, she cannot remember if she has participated in activities even if I ask her about displays of work on the wall. Nowadays Mum can be agitated and grumpy
at times. It is good to know that the staff are aware that behind these moods caused by dementia that there is a nice lady.

My 84-year-old mum has been a resident at Farthings for 20 months. She has settled well and seems to enjoy living there. The staff are very friendly, supportive and helpful. The home feels very homely, like home from home. Mum's room is in adequate for her needs, we did have an issue with boxes of pads
being stored in there, mentioned this to Management and it was eventually sorted. Not keen on the ramp at the front of the building, it feels quite steep when trying to get Mum in and out of the building, but I understand that this is being replaced. Various activities take place during the week and we did have a trip to the theatre earlier this year which Mum enjoyed. The home is in a very peaceful village.

Caring and compassionate staff who work hard to ensure the dignity of their guests. This relates to all members of the team cleaners, hairdressers, activity manager, cooks, carers etc. All this makes for a family environment which is respectful of the range of challenges the mixed guest group presents
with. Visitors are made to feel welcome and included.

My nan came in after she broke her wrist and damaged her elbow from a fall. She has been extremely well looked after and cared for. All staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and have made my nan and us very welcome. They are always on hand to speak to and reassure her. Very well-run care home.

I think the meals are a bit boring! A bit more variety would be nice! We seem to get a lot of cream on things not good for our waistlines!
