My mother has resided in this care home for a number of years.
She is well cared for by all her attend her needs.
She is up and dressed and in the community room each and every time I've visited.
She is made to join in activities such as bingo, painting, colouring in etc.
She enjoys these and the
constant parties that are organised.
I feel she is safe and secure and well looked after, which is a great relief to us all.

My mum was given the utmost professional care during the end-of-life care at this wonderful nursing home. From the moment I arrived on my initial visit, I was made to feel so welcome and this view was sustained by the actual experience. Warm, attentive, diligent staff. Inspiring activities, comfortable
communal areas and bedrooms. I highly recommend Meadowcare as a place where care is not just a word.

I had a good experience as my Mum was either in her room or in the downstairs room. The staff were very helpful in helping obtain a health declaration I needed.
One minor issue is that you can be stuck inside or outside the front door, waiting to be buzzed in or out. The bigger issue seems to be delays
getting out.

Thank you for leaving us feedback. We do give the exit code to our visitors but not the entry code due to safety and security reasons. We apologise for the delays. We hope to give you this information and alternative ways to call on staff for assistance on your next visit.

Everyone you meet at the home is very friendly and happy to see you, which is nice. I always feel welcome when I visit my relative. The newsletter is always full of fun and interesting activities which are carried out monthly. My relative is very happy staying there and much prefers it to the place
where she was before.

Throughout the year the staff at the care home have done an excellent job caring for mother, who can be a handful at times. That's a lot to do where being in charge and not liking people telling her what to do. She has lost the power in her legs and can't get around, it's a real downer. Mum's always
been capable being a here, there, everywhere person. It's a real bane for her to comprehend.

We placed our mum with Meadowcare from October 2023 to May 2024 when she passed away. Throughout the process, the Meadowcare team were excellent at what they did, kept us fully informed about her health and happiness and cared for her brilliantly. At the end, the staff were enormously sensitive and
left us to experience Mum’s final moments. She had a peaceful and beautiful passing as a result.
We would highly recommend Meadowcare to others. Thank you Meadowcare for everything.

Hi, my mum received excellent care at the Meadowcare Home. She has come to think of the girls as part of the family and has offered them to come home with her. The atmosphere was upbeat and all around a genuinely pleasant place for her to reside while things were in motion to get her home. The carers
would go above and beyond in the care they took to look after her.

Meadowcare are brilliant!
My grandad was always looked after, he was always clean, happy and I don’t have a bad word to say!
The staff are friendly and caring. Thanks for everything you have done for my grandad, my family appreciate it all. In the last years of my grandad's life, we as a family felt
my grandad was in safe hands. If something was up, my family were always kept updated and informed. We had regular photo updates and could see how relaxed and comfortable he really was.
There were lots of activities that my grandad participated in, which he enjoyed and he always had a smile on his face.

I would like to thank all the staff at Meadowcare Home for everything they have done to provide excellent care for my beloved father for 18 months. We were always made very welcome, tea and coffee on every visit. Excellent activities, friendly, helpful, and everyone always had a smile. I would definitely
recommend this dementia care home as one of the best in Bristol. Thank you Meadowcare Home.

Not sure if teeth cleaning is a priority, I know staff are very busy but dental hygiene is said to be important for general health.
Could residents be encouraged to go to the toilet as opposed to waiting for them to ask?
Everyone I have met at Meadowcare has been outstanding, always cheerful, alert,
helpful and kind, both to residents and visitors.

We are always welcomed with open arms, very pleased to how this person is being looked after with care and passion, we enjoy visiting. The only problem is the parking as we have a disabled car so it is a big problem on that road.

Reply from Francis Castillo, Clinical Lead at Meadowcare Home

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. We always aim to deliver quality care to our beloved residents. I am sorry to hear about the parking problem. We do have an allocated disabled parking space in front of the care home, however, we cannot always guarantee its availability.

When your mum's GP describes the care home staff as very hardworking and very caring, you know you have found the right place for her. Meadowcare treats its residents and visitors as a family and is friendly and welcoming. There are lots of fun activities for the residents. Visitors are also encouraged
to join in too, which is great. There are celebrations of seasonal events throughout the year. My mum enjoyed her 93rd birthday with a delicious chocolate cake made especially for her and the staff all sang Happy Birthday to her. Photos of the many happy moments are displayed in the lounge and on the regular newsletter. The staff are also quick and calm to act in times of crisis, treating people with respect and care. Meadowcare is fairly small, with only 34 residents. So, the staff get to know them and their visitors well, which is lovely.

from Mike M (Son of Resident) published on 13 July 2023

It was very friendly and caring.
The bedroom was clean and well fitted with a large en suite shower room. The nursing care was carried out well and all medication was managed with good liaison with GP.
The care staff took pride in their jobs and were really nice and treated mum well, she made some
friends.
The lounge was large and light with an outside patio area, nice environment.
There were activities daily including quizzes and picnics out.
Food seemed OK but mum did complain it was often cold.
Plenty of snacks during the day which was good.

Reply from Abygail Mujakachi, Home Manager at Glenview Nursing Home

Thank you, Mike, much appreciated. We will ensure the food is served at a best favourable temperature, I believe we will improve.
