My mother is now 97 and has spent the last three and a half years at Cornerways Residential Home. Although a little forgetful, she still has a sharp mind and great sense of humour. The care that she is receiving continues to be exemplary. Mum particularly loves the variety of freshly cooked meals prepared
daily by the talented chefs.
The staff are truly wonderful, ensuring that she has all of the comforts of home. This is her home and she is surrounded by her new extended family. Her family and friends can call or visit at any time and are always greeted with a smile. Nothing is too much trouble.
Mum and I would like to thank the Management and all of the staff for their consideration, kindness, care and professionalism. I highly recommend Cornerways as a safe and secure haven for loved ones.

My mother was accepted as a resident to await a care needs assessment and from my first visit there, I found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming. My mum was happy too and her care was so efficient and professional but also given with respect and kindness. After further visits I noticed mums
mobility was improving along with her confidence and with that her old fun personality was returning. She has made so much progress there and has made good friends, a relaxed environment created here has helped her to feel safe, confident and reassured that she is not alone and help is always at hand, all in a short period of time. Many thanks.

Mum stayed at Wells Lodge for just over 6 weeks for respite care following her discharge from the hospital.
From my first enquiry chat, throughout Mum's stay, and the hugs when she left, all the staff were absolutely fantastic. They were so caring - and it was genuine care - and they always had a
smile, which I think says a lot about working there.
Whenever I visited or phoned, the staff were always aware of what was happening with Mum - possibly because Wells Lodge has a relatively small number of residents, but I also believe it's because of the way they work as a team, plus there are no agency staff, so it's an ideal way for the carers to get to know the residents.
Any medical issues with the GP, chasing medication, tests, etc., were chased up and organised straight away - just so professional.
A really good range of food was available also.
I can thoroughly recommend Wells Lodge if you want to have excellent care for yourself or a relative/friend.
Many thanks.

I made the very hard decision to find my mum a care home that could cater to her dementia, keep her safe, make her happy, and treat her like their own mum. Cornerways has catered for all of this and I cannot thank the manager and staff enough. They even got her involved in activities and Mum made a
new friend. Mum sadly passed away last week but during her 4 months here I never doubted the care and I always received phone call updates if they were concerned. They never complained when I rang them every day to check on her and they even decorated her bedroom when I said I wasn't happy with it. Nothing was ever too much.

My mum has been at Cornerways Residential Home for nearly two years. Suffering from dementia which has changed her sweet personality into, sadly, a person she never was. The management and staff are very understanding and always reassure me not to worry about this and they take it all in their stride.
Never judge a book by its cover, the care they provide outweighs the aesthetics of the building. The food is freshly cooked and there is plenty offered throughout the day. I took my mum out the other day and on return, the same head carer was still there and answered the door to us with a smile and lots of enthusiasm, even at the end of a 12-hour shift! Well done staff, as you do a hard job!

My mother was placed in Wells Lodge Nursing Home on end-of-life care after six weeks in hospital. From the moment she arrived, she has been treated with the utmost dignity by all the very friendly and caring staff who also thoughtfully enquire as to my wellbeing every day I visit. The room she has is
ensuite, clean and spacious with a television and comfortable furniture for visitors. Personal hygiene, food and drinks have been provided as required. My overall experience of her time in Wells Lodge has been extremely positive on all matters and feel her care at this very difficult time has been exemplary.

I could not be more happy with the care we have received. The manager has been so supportive of us throughout this transition. Being a family member of someone with dementia is an extremely emotional ordeal. Cornerways have gone over and beyond to support us as a family. We were offered the chance to
paint my Mother-in-laws bedroom to make her feel more comfortable which has been done for her. Cornerways staff have been so patient and understanding and have always been very approachable and welcoming. We as a family know that our Mother-in-law is receiving the best possible care we could ask for as a family. Her grandchildren have recently visited her and they all had a brilliant experience visiting Cornerways. They have always been very supportive, I personally have had a brilliant relationship with the manager. She's approachable, and down to earth and I could see from day one of my Mother-in-laws residency that she has an outstanding relationship with the residents. They trust her and as a family we are entirely grateful

I have just stayed here for a week of respite care whilst my daughter was away. I was somewhat apprehensive and anxious as I had never stayed in a residential setting before, there was no need! My well-decorated spacious room with a door to the garden reassured me immediately. The staff were kind and
realised my anxieties immediately dealing with me in a professional caring way. I felt calm and reassured in their presence and that nothing was too much trouble for them. I was very lucky to be in such a compassionate and caring environment.
