Our mother has Alzheimzer's and moved into Antokol almost 6 years ago. In that time her condition has deteriorated, but the care and affection provided by the staff has remained consistently excellent. When I visit her she is always nicely dressed, her hair is styled and she is obviously happy to be there. When we visit, our family is accorded a warm welcome at all times. If there are any issues with my mother Antokol gets in touch and keeps us updated. The care home itself looks and feels more like a country house hotel with a beautiful garden. We are vey grateful to the manager and staff for all their hard work.

My father has been resident at Antokol since June 2021 and suffers from dementia which has increased over the years and he is now chair/bed bound. I live abroad and manage several visits every year and can see that my father receives the best possible care. What differentiates this home is the warmth and familial feeling the staff bring, and that my father is 'one of their own'. It gives me a tremendous amount of reassurance to know that he is cared for in this way. The home is spotless, has a lovely library and beautiful gardens. My father is always well presented and groomed whenever I see him and other visitors comment on this too. I can see how relaxed and comfortable he is there and he is treated with real dignity. He loves the food too, which is freshly prepared and of an excellent standard as well as enjoying the numerous trips and activities. It's a remarkable and special place that I am glad he has spent his time in. Very well run. Wonderful staff.

Antokol care home is a very well run home, where the residents are central to every decision. All staff know all the residents and their needs very well. It is a very welcoming, warmhearted and caring home. Residents are well cared for in every aspect of their needs; there are many varied activities on offer; the delicious food is all cooked on site and is adapted according to need; the property is well maintained. One of the outstanding provisions is end of life care. This is meticulously thought through so that dignity is preserved and families are supported.

Review from Crista L (Wife of Resident) published on 6 August 2026 Submitted via Website

My husband suffered severe stroke in January that left him both physically and mentally disabled. When he was discharged into nursing home care, we first selected another home nearby, which both he and we, his family, thought inadequate. So we then were fortunate to find a place at Antokol where he has been for the past four months. It has literally been a life saver for him, now he feels loved and well cared for by the staff who are exemplary in their professionalism and attention to all his needs. He spends much time, especially when visited, in Antokol's lovely, well tended large garden. They feed him well, occupying him whenever possible in a workshop or helping in the garden despite wheelchair bound. Residents have been taken for supper to a local pub, and will be presented with a huge and very tasty cake on their birthday. Unless his or our circumstances change dramtically he will stay at Antokol, no better place within many miles.

Both my parents have spent a number of years their twilight years at Antokol. My father passed away nearly six years ago and soon after, my mother followed him into the same care home where she currently resides.
I cannot praise the staff highly enough!
They treat the residents as if they were their own family.
The genuine kindness, friendliness, care and compassion are to be highly commended.
I honestly do not think a comparable match to this care home can be found.

I consider myself extremely fortunate that my father had loving care and patience from all staff, as my mother is continuing to have to this day.

Our family was so impressed with the care Antikol gave our Stepmother in the last year of her life . Their kindness and respect knew no bounds . We loved the Family Atmosphere of Antikol it did not feel like a care home . We appreciated the parties thrown for the residents and their families . I would highly recommend Antikol with no hesitation for anyone looking for a care home for a loved one.

My wife was admitted on 31.12.2024 and remains there until this day. She is moderately demented, doubly incontinent, and chair/bed bound . .She is currently recovering from a severe chest infection that nearly took her life.
I visit daily with very few exceptions.
I was a General Practitioner for more than 34 years.
I have closely observed a great deal of the care that my wife has received , especially during her recent serious illness.

I am fully satisfied with all aspects of my wife's care

I cannot recommend Antokol highly enough. From the moment my mum arrived, we felt reassured by the professionalism, warmth, and dedication of the entire team. The staff genuinely care for every resident, treating them with respect, kindness, and compassion at all times.

The facilities are immaculate - every area is clean, safe, and welcoming. My mum is always comfortable, well-cared-for, and happy, which gives me peace of mind. The activities and attention to individual needs make this more than just a nursing home; it's a community where residents truly feel valued.

I am deeply grateful for everything the staff do each day. If you are looking for a place where your loved one will receive excellent care in a safe, friendly, and clean environment, Antokol is the perfect choice.

Antokol is a wonderful, friendly and caring home, I know my mum is well looked after. There are activities every week, lots of social events and family events where we can all be together. Everything is clean and well managed and there are always fresh flowers in the rooms. The home is a little bit of Poland and gives you a real flavour of the country with the food and hospitality.

Having visited a number of care homes over the years, I continue to be amazed at just how good Antokol is. Way better than anything I have seen before. It is truly outstanding in every respect and has more of the feel of an exclusive country hotel rather than a traditional care home. The management and all the staff seem to go that extra mile in the quality of their care, catering, activities and general standards to make the residents feel at home and part of a family. My mother has been a resident here for several years and my family and I have complete confidence in the quality of care she is receiving.

Antokol consistently delivers the level of care I hoped for when choosing a care home for my mum. The staff are always well presented, welcoming and so tolerant and compassionate. Antokol has a lovely, friendly atmosphere and it really is made to feel like home. It is always spotless, the grounds are beautifully maintained and any jobs or improvements are carried out efficiently and with minimum disruption. There is always a member of the management team present, they are approachable and very willing to help. It seems to me that from the smallest detail to the serious medical care, everything is carried out to the highest professional standard and nothing is overlooked in trying to provide a comfortable, happy home for the residents.

My brother, sister and I have already written reviews for Antokol which were published in December 2023. Sadly our mother passed away in June 2024. It would therefore seem fitting to leave one final review. We would like to pay tribute to Antokol for the exemplary way in which they cared for our mother during her final days and for the support they provided to us as a family. We will be eternally grateful to the team members for the kindness and compassion they genuinely showed from the day our mother entered Antokol to the day that she finally left.

Mum has been at Antokol since March 2021. Everything about the home is first class, when we had to move Mum from her previous care home we had no faith in finding anywhere that could deal with Mum's needs but Antokol can. All the staff and management are caring and truly put their residents' needs first, we are confident that Mum has found her 'home'. Although Mum is unable to join in with activities and spends most of her time in bed or her chair, the staff take her to the garden, weather permitting, or the communal lounge if Mum is happy with that. We visit Mum as often as we can and are always welcome by the staff. We no longer worry about Mum as we know she is very well cared for. The home itself is beautiful as are the gardens, where many events are held which all relatives are welcome to attend. I highly recommend Antokol.

Joanna WojtachJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2017

Hello everyone,

My name is Joanna, and I am the Manager of Antokol Care Home. I have been in this role for the past two years; however, my journey with Antokol began in 2017.

I started from the very foundations, working as a Care Assistant for older people. After one year, I was promoted to Senior Healthcare Assistant, then after three years, I became a Care Coordinator, and today I proudly serve as the Manager. This means I have truly walked the entire path from the beginning, gaining experience and understanding every level of care.

I genuinely love my work and deeply value the people I work with. I am highly committed to my role because the well-being of our residents and staff is always my top priority. My calling is to create a place that feels like a true home — filled with love, respect, dignity, and support.
