27 Cantelowes House, Spring Close, Bells Hill, Barnet EN5 2UR
Eleanor Palmer Trust is a residential care home situated on a quiet road, close to local shops and amenities, about half a mile from Barnet High Street. The modern, two-storey building has wheelchair access and is set in well-maintained, landscaped gardens.
Eleanor Palmer Trust provides safe, comfortable and bright accommodation for older people. Most of the single bed-sitting rooms have en-suite facilities, while all rooms have 24-hour nurse call systems and television, radio and telephone points, which can be used for internet access if required. The home encourages residents to bring some of their own possessions to create a home-from-home environment.
A large communal lounge with bay windows overlooks the garden allowing residents to enjoy conversations with each other, or take part in the various activities that are organised for them, including board games. For those who prefer their own company, quieter reading areas and places to watch TV or listen quietly to music are also available.
Entertainment is an important part of life at the care home, with quizzes, bingo, art classes, Tai Chi, exercise classes, reminiscence evenings, singing, and accompanied day trips out organised for the residents. The care home also has its own minibus which is used for residents’ outings.
