I have described my experience as indicated by the ratings! However I think it would be much appreciated if a room could be provided for team making facilities where the resident and relations could go and make a cup of tea and have a chat.
We have been so pleased with the care and support given to our sister. The moment we came to view the establishment we had good vibes. We felt very welcome by all the staff who all had a smile and genuinely very helpful. Everything we have asked of the staff has been carried out, initially her stay was to be as respite. She settled in quickly and soon began to feel safe, supported and cared for. This accommodation has now been made permanent. Thank you.
Accepted the kind invitation to the St Patrick's day party. Lovely to see all the residents and staff so happy, engaging and enjoying the atmosphere.
A special thanks to Uday for organising and also to Vikki and Sam for all their hard word. Mum enjoyed herself immensely and is now looking forward to the St George's Day Celebrations.
Mum has been here just over a week but we can already see the staff are amazing and can't do enough for us. Obviously mum needs to settle being 93 and having been totally independent it will take time but we are quite positive it's going to be perfect here for her. She has an amazing room with beautiful gardens and lovely views. Thank you so much everyone at the Lodge.
My mum has been at the Lodge since Thursday 26th February 2026, she was transferred from the hospital on their recommendation. She has accelerated dementia and can be quite demanding, the management and staff have been very patient and caring with her. My mum already seems more relaxed and enjoys her meals thankfully, I hope she will continue to settle here
My mum is in the care home since October after losing her partner , she has dementia and we was really worried about her going in but the staff have been amazing and caring and she settled in really well all the staff are wonderful and love my mum
"I am writing this to thank the Management and Staff at The Lodge for the exemplary care provided to my mother.
Her stay was brief, lasting only three weeks, but in that short time, the team proved how dedicated and professional they are. The service my mother received was second to none. Furthermore, the transparency from the management was excellent; they proactively updated the family on every detail regarding her care plan and well-being, ensuring we were never left in the dark. It is a relief to know such caring people exist. I would highly recommend The Lodge to anyone seeking a safe and supportive environment for their loved ones."
"A huge thank you to the Management and Staff Team at The Lodge care home for looking after my mother so well.
Our very frail Mum stayed at The Lodge for only 13 days where she passed away very peacefully, albeit sooner than anyone anticipated due to being so frail and underweight and other underlying health issues. My whole family visited every day without fail, sometimes several family members in one day. Each visit Mum was in one of the lounges and dressed, clean and comfortable. We felt she was always treated respectfully and with so much care. We all felt every member of your team was wonderful but a special mention has to go to a member of staff. The most kindest of souls, nothing was too much trouble to help us settle mum into the care home, backwards and forwards to the office to sort out a query, we had lots of questions as this was all our first time experience dealing with a care home. Mum wasn't well enough to really appreciate what was going on but we did appreciate the kindness and support from the whole team.
My mum lived at The Lodge for two and a half years until June 2025 where she passed peacefully. Every time I visited I was always impressed how management were always investing in the facility to raise the standards, keep the facilities in excellent condition and trying to make the building feel like home to its residents. I was always so impressed how the staff treated my mum, always with dignity and respect and they all sincerely cared for her well being. Activities can be improved but I saw more and more going on there for residents to feel engaged every month. There's a genuine desire to listen to families and for them to get involved in how the home is run and I always appreciated that. I'd recommend this home for anyone that wants their loved one to be looked after with the highest standards.
Thank you so much for your kind words and beautiful review. We are deeply touched that you took the time to share your experience. it was a true privilege to care for your Mum, and we will always remember her warmth and presence.
I moved into Lodge in January this year 2025, with the help of the fantastic, committed staff here, my mental and physical health have improved 100 percent. The food is excellent on my Birthday the chef cooked me a special meal for lunch the entertainments staff did all they could to make the day special for me. My children tell me I never looked better. Every where is very clean the cleaning staff work tersely to keep the common areas and our rooms immaculate. I cannot find fault with the Management, staff or the environment we live in. The service levels from the staff and environment here are superior to many 5 star hotels I have stayed in.
Both my parents were placed in the home some 18 months ago. Sadly my father recently passed away in hospital suffering from Alzheimer's. My mother currently suffers from Dementia and has no knowledge of me or the recent past events. All of the staff, management, administration and carers have acted in the best interests of my parents treating them as their own family. All act with compassion, integrity, and the utmost professionalism and are always attentive to their needs. In particular to medical needs, I have found them always on the ball. I am in constant contact with the home and even when arrive unannounced the staff always make time for me.
My Aunt arrived from a long stay in hospital on 29th May 2024 on Cherry. The following day after a good night's sleep she looked totally relaxed in her room. Members of the staff came to introduce themselves. There is a clean and relaxed atmosphere on entering the building. The staff were professional and caring when attending to my aunt's needs, encouraging her to walk when she could. All the staff were friendly, always with a smile on their face. Always very helpful and answered any questions when I needed any information. A short while after she arrived the management arranged for an airflow bed to aid her comfort. I have met many kind people in my time and all of the staff I encountered at The Lodge were top of my list for kindness, professionalism and compassion and this gave me the assurance my aunt was in good and capable hands. I would highly recommend this care to anyone as a care home for a loved one. My deepest thanks to everyone at the home. Regards.
I act as a power of attorney for a friend of the family. Whilst it has been a difficult transition for the individual having moved from the hospital following a fall to becoming a permanent resident, we have received good support from the management and staff of the home. Investment in the facilities is being made and I am pleased to say that she is now very settled at this home.
Thank you for your review. We appreciate that it is a difficult transition for you and your family members. We are glad to hear that they are now settled.
Saw mum yesterday, she always looks clean and tidy and is usually in one of the lounges when I arrive. There are always a lot of staff around, they are friendly and always appear caring and patient with the residents. I went to mum’s room to collect a cardigan, as it was clean and tidy as was her bathroom. Mum had previously complained to me that the food was boring and had little variety, she said yesterday that it was much better since the new owners took over. When you have a loved one in a care home, you want to feel confident that they are safe and being looked after, I have absolutely no doubt of that.
Good afternoon. Thank you for your review. We are glad that your mum is settled and I will pass on your comments to our Chef and also our Domestic Team.
Very comfortable, kind staff, very pleasant.
My mum moved into The Lodge last month. She absolutely loves it. She has settled so well. The staff are all so kind. Her room is bright, also she is very happy with it.
Good afternoon. Thank you for your review and we are glad to hear that your mum has settled in well.
Gave me peace of mind that she is safe and well looked after
I needed to place mum into respite care and was recommended "The Lodge". This was the first time I had placed her in care and thought it was the right time, it is still a big step fully entrusting a loved one to others. Having said this my initial experience for pre assessment was extremely reassuring. All the things that had worried me or questions I had were answered. On mum's first day the handover was dealt without any stress and mum was put at ease (not always easy especially with dementia). I later in the day had a call to say mum had settled in very well. I spoke to several staff during mum's stay all of whom updated me fully and most importantly were very reassuring. Discharge was also dealt with smoothly. Mum was very happy with all aspects of her stay indeed and really enjoyed it. I certainly have no doubts about using "The Lodge" for any future care needs. Thank you all for your friendly, supportive and professional service but above all for really caring for others.
Absolutely disgusting. The care given to my Dad! Well, there was none that I witnessed. My father was not allowed any visitors due to the end of the pandemic. Although this I feel was an excuse to literally treat their patients as they wished (with no care). But as we were not allowed in. When we were it was in a foyer, with no privacy at all. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. No way on this earth would I ever have let my Dad go there. My husband has cancer, and my Mum (main carer) was 87. Absolutely disgusting.
Unfortunately, during the pandemic, all care homes were restricted by Government and local guidelines and had to abide by these. I would ask you to contact the home to speak directly to the manager or deputy about these issues.
My mother was suffering from dementia as well as being old and frail, she went to The Lodge where she received excellent care and friendliness throughout. I was regularly updated with COVID changes by the administrator. All my dealing with the other staff especially one, in particular, was excellent. I can’t praise the staff highly enough and would like to register my thanks to all of them for the care and friendliness they showed my mother. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anybody. Many thanks.
