Beech House was built about 1890. It has been extended and modified to provide accommodation of 33 rooms - 19 single rooms, 10 en-suite, 3 en-suite with walk in showers/wet rooms and 1 double room with en-suite. The home is registered to care for elderly residents and also those suffering from Dementia.

The present owner bought the home in January 2008 and since then it has undergone major refurbishment. The interior has been redecorated and new furniture and furnishings have been provided to all bedrooms and public areas. Exterior areas have also undergone improvement with a new parking area and landscaping at the front of the home.

Further improvements were undertaken in 2023 that included an additional 3 rooms extension with walk in shower/wet rooms CQC specification during the same period and in early 2024 they had extensive work carried out to landscape their garden area at the back of the home.

My aunt who has Dementia has been a resident in Beech House for just over a year. I am extremely impressed with the quality of care the team provides, the staff are always on hand to discuss her care plan, are friendly and above all kind to the residents.
From a well-being perspective, my aunt's hair
is washed and cut regularly, her nails are trimmed, her clothes are clean, the food is good, and all the residents are encouraged to join in activities organised for them. Her bedroom is adequate for her needs, the dining room spacious and bright and the decking area is great for when the weather permits residents to sit outside.
She is very happy there and it is clear to all her extended family that her overall health and well-being have improved since she moved to Beech House.

I can highly recommend Beech House and the care my father received from everyone there. Many of the staff are still the same as when he first arrived, I am sure that consistency was a great comfort to him. I was always kept well informed of his well-being during the Covid crisis, the fact that my father
never contracted the virus shows the lengths they went to protect their vulnerable residents. Whenever I visited him, the staff always took the time to tell me how much they liked my father and he in turn seemed very happy in their company. The kindness shown to me and my family on his passing was very touching. I have only good memories and thoughts of his time at Beech House. A big thank you to you all.

Dad was admitted to Beech House in January 2021, which with Covid, was not ideal but the entire team at Beech House couldn't have been more helpful. The team are absolutely fabulous and we are delighted that Dad has benefitted from the same consistent team since then - care, activities, admin & manager
- which we think is very important. The home is rightly being cautious about opening up fully to a pre-Covid position which would enable us to see more of the day-to-day operation. But we have no doubt, that when this happens, we will be equally delighted with what we discover.

My father went to live in Beech House in August 2020 and we have been delighted with the care he has received. All the staff have been really helpful and understanding and he settled in quickly. The manager and staff are always available to chat on the phone and the precautions to protect against Covid
are very well managed. Activities are organised on a regular basis to stimulate and give pleasure to the residents and it is possible to follow this on the Facebook page. The outside area is very welcoming for the residents to sit in during the warmer months. A huge thank you to Beech House, which is to be highly recommended.

I am really happy with the care mum receives at Beech House, especially in the difficult times with COVID 19; the care cannot be faulted. The staff are kind and caring and this has helped mum settle in. The genuine rapport between Mum and the staff makes me feel confident that she is safe and well cared
for physically, but more importantly emotionally. I would not hesitate to recommend Beech House.

The Beech House care team have been very helpful, kind and understanding about the specific needs of a wonderful gentleman who I helped to move in.


The friendly and homely house welcomed him from day one into their activities and started to find out his likes, needs and favourite foods too - there

are wonderful aromas of home cooking every day.
The home manager is approachable about all matters so I recommend a visit if you are considering this home for someone you care about.

The home is secure and good value for money and well managed. Care staff work very hard and are caring and kind. They are always welcoming to visitors. Some areas of the home need updating and décor refreshed/updated. Some windows need replacing. Activities are good but need improving to accommodate
residents with advanced dementia. The home helps and encourages residents to maintain outside interests, although sadly this has stopped due to relatives level of dementia.

Mum is cared for and well presented. Mum is sometimes difficult and yet staff deal with her with humour and kindness. She is happy there but cannot actually tell us what she does - due to the dementia! Her room is well cared for and she is dressed in her own clean clothes. She can be difficult and
staff appreciate this and share the information with us, they let us know when there have been issues, and what these issue are. Food is good and as a visitor I have been offered lunch when I arrived at an inopportune moment. Mum is keen to come out for a while and have a ride around but actually wants to go back there if we bring her to our house. Dementia is dreadful and the team at Beech House do their very best to make it as painless as possible.

My mother has been treated very well and all her needs seem to be met. It is good to see her sitting in the lounge more often rather than in her room. Care needs to be taken when washing clothes as some tops/cardigans seem to be washed on too high a setting.

Other duties also include preparing and sending information to the Head Office, such as admission and discharge forms, and compiling Month End paperwork. I have worked at Beech House since November 2010 after previously working as a painter and decorator, my role here is to look after the building compliance, health and safety as well as the fire management to ensure we keep everyone safe and secure for the residents and guests. During your move in I will be on hand to give assistance and support including from setting up TVs and internet-based equipment to hanging your favourite pictures where you want them. I keep things running smoothly as the Maintenance Person and carry out day-to-day maintenance duties as and when they are needed.
