On the occasions I have visited my relative when it has been possible, I have found him to look well cared for in every aspect regarding his appearance, where he sleeps and eats. I know they do a lot of entertaining; the patients seem to enjoy. Even in lockdown, I have been told they are still carrying
on with activities. The staff are always very pleasant to me and very informative on how he is eating etc. The house itself is situated on a hillside and so lovely to see farming land.

Well myself and my sister have been delighted with the level of care and support and tenderness that our father has received over the past two and a half years. Nothing is too much for the carers; a favourite carer was chosen to accompany him to his hospital appointment. When we arrive to visit we
are always welcomed and the staff keep us up to date with what has been happening to him. They know a lot about his background and often refer to it which makes their care feel very personal.
During the Covid crisis they have surpassed themselves. I imagine many of the staff feel scared for their own health and that of their loved ones, but they never show this. Quite the reverse, they are cheerful and positive and focused on what they can do to keep us in touch with our loved ones. They call us regularly with our dad on facetime so that we don't lose touch. They have done all they could do, it seems to us, to minimise the impact of the few cases they sadly have had. Well done all.

I would just like to say that when my father-in-law was at his own home it was a very stressful time for the family. When he was taken to the Woodlands it was hard at first to adjust for him especially. But as time went by my father-in-law settled down and was very happy in his new environment. I am
very happy knowing that he is safe and well looked after and cared for. With the present situation (COVID19) I can't stress enough how I appreciate what the amazing members of staff have done and continue doing not just for my father-in-law but for all residents. The fact that I know they are all giving the care and attention they need and most importantly giving the love and comfort I can't give at this time. I have been in contact regularly and the staff have always been brilliant. They have all put their own lives as well as their families at risk to look after the residents. I can't imagine how hard it's been and still is for them all. I thank them all so much for everything they do.

My husband is a patient at Woodlands Hall. The house is set at the top of a hill with magnificent views over the Chiltern Hills. There is a garden for outdoor activities. We look forward to the summer BBQ and the summertime activities. There is also a range of activity which are always eagerly anticipated.
A local vicar comes once a week and sleep is forgotten as the residents roar out the songs of the 2 world wars. We also have an Opera singer who sings like an angel and many more. The food is very inviting, something like a picture.
The staff are first-class, always ready to help.
Should I need to go in to care Woodlands wood be my first choice.

The care that my mother has received from Woodlands Park has always been second to none but they have risen in my estimation with how brilliantly they have managed throughout the COVID-19 crisis. I cannot thank them enough, particularly as I have not been able to see my mother, but rest assured that
she is in safe hands.

My aunt has been a resident at Woodlands Park Care Centre for over two years, and the effect of this excellent, caring, highly-professional environment has had on her has been transformational. Apart from the beauty and elegance of the house and its surroundings, it is obvious that the management and
staff genuinely care about the residents and their welfare, and have created a warm, friendly and stimulating community that clearly has a very positive impact on the residents' sense of emotional security. At the time I write this, the UK is still in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, and yet the thorough and professional standards that are evident at Woodlands Park have ensured that no resident has been lost to the virus, and that almost all have been protected from infection, which is an outstanding achievement. My aunt is very well looked-after, and it is a great relief to me to see how happy she is when I visit her. I wholeheartedly recommend this outstanding establishment.

During the ten months or so that my dear husband has been at Woodlands, I can only express complimentary things to say. Without exception, every person connected with this care home has been so very kind and caring, fun-loving and always cheerful in their daily care. Alzheimer's is a difficult illness
but my husband was always shown great patience and understanding. In a nutshell, all staff at Woodlands are pretty remarkable people and myself and family send our sincere good wishes to each and every one.

Staff at Woodlands Park always have time for us as well as giving kind and patient care to my sister. The schedule of activities always stimulated and encourage my sister and made her very happy. Sadly, illness took her last week but her final days were not alone as staff attended her and comforted
her in all ways, constantly - even putting Christmas decorations in her room as she knew she might not be better by then. My sister was cared for with kindness and love as well as staff being expertly professional until the end.

My father has been a long-term resident at Woodlands Park Care Centre for over 5 years now and from day one the staff have been supportive towards him and his family. They show understanding, great care, and indeed affection toward him, despite the difficulties that his dementia can pose. The home offers
a kind welcome at any time to family visitors and has a wonderful family atmosphere - I not only feel welcomed but also feel I am amongst good friends, as does my father. The manageresses and their staff provide a settled and caring environment which I believe has made his life dignified in such difficult circumstances.
The home is set in beautiful and pleasant grounds and the home works continually to provide a safe and stimulating environment.
Woodlands keeps families informed about one's relative and holds regular meetings to keep families updated, offering the opportunity to put forward ideas and suggestions as well as raising any perceived issues.

Woodlands Park provide a professional caring service when you need it most. This extends to all friends and family as well, along with the user. Their compassion, guidance and empathy from all staff members is their greatest asset. Nothing is too much trouble and our friend was very happy and settled
in their care. I thoroughly recommend Woodland Park Care Home and I am very grateful for all their help.

Woodlands is a lovely friendly caring home in beautiful surroundings. The staff interact well with my mum's experience of living with Alzheimer's. She herself is always happy in her surroundings, which are bright, airy and safe for her to wonder. We are very assured that all her needs are met with professional
care.

My wife's father has been a resident for a number of years now. Although he is suffering profoundly with dementia, Woodlands is his home. The staff and fellow residents are his family and he continues to be settled and content amongst this caring family. I therefore, have no reservation in recommending
Woodlands as a caring home for fellow dementia sufferers.

Our mother arrived at Woodlands, having lived in a country setting for all of her life. She, therefore, felt at home in this spacious, sunny house surrounded by fields full of horses. She (accompanied initially by her dog) was made to feel safe; she was free to explore, helped by the different colours
of the main reception rooms; she was entertained as far as her capacity would allow, and as her condition has deteriorated we have been so impressed by the gentle friendliness, good cheer, and care of the staff. This consideration has been extended to us as her family, and during a recent crisis, we were hugely helped by the way that we were consulted and reassured, and by the warmth of the hospitality shown by staff, by night and day.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.990)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.990) out of 10 for Woodlands Park Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.990 for Woodlands Park Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (288 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 291 Ratings = 4.99
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodlands Park Care Centre is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7, which has been reached with 25 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
