My brother in law has been in The Belfry for some time now. First as respite, but now requires more full time care. The wonderful care he receives could not be better and takes away worry for the family. All the staff go above and beyond, and are a team that are well led by the senior team. I have never
heard any negative comments from anyone, but have heard lots of fun and laughter in the home .

My father has been a resident here for nearly 2 years. I can't speak highly enough of the staff and the care given, they are kind, compassionate, and very professional. The Belfry staff do activities with the residents and on special occasions provide entertainment. Best care home I have ever been into.
Keep up the excellent work you all do, you are appreciated by all the family.

Care homes should not be judged in aesthetics but in the actual care provided which I cannot praise enough. The staff here truly care about the residents and understand their individual needs. They create activities to keep them amused every day and I couldn't wish for better care for my father than
what he receives here.

Super friendly small home, so kind and engaging with homely rooms, top class staff and great homemade food. Our Mum spent her last months here and was welcomed and cherished by the Belfry family. It's an airy and pleasant home that we could call in to any time and find all the guests busy and happy
with whichever activity was running and a really warm welcome from the staff with coffee and cake on tap. All the guests are encouraged to make friends with each other and join in and chat and laugh and consequently there's always a lovely 'big family' vibe. The staff are without a doubt what makes the Belfry's unique home-from-home atmosphere, they're angels with bucket loads of kindness and fun. We were so lucky to find The Belfry at a really special point in my mother-in-law's life and we will always reflect and appreciate the genuine love and care that was shown to her. Thank you.

My husband is a resident in this lovely care home due to his COPD and Dementia. He is very well cared for and enjoys the company of the other residents and staff. The staff are very caring and meet over and above his needs. As this is a small and very friendly care home it is made to feel very homely
and relaxing. It is kept clean and cosy at all times. The food is very good with lots of choices. There are daily activities and regular entertainment, from singing and music sessions to animal and even reptile visits which the residents and relatives really enjoy. In the summer months they sit in the garden and enjoy the different conversations and laughter. Some residents pot up small plants in pots to enjoy the flowers, even competitions on whose sunflower is the tallest. It's very comforting to know they are all cared for and are safe. I would like to thank them all for their hard work and care they provide.

I visit my husband every day for quite a long time. I have nothing but great praise for the staff in the lovely way they treat all residents in their care. The needs of the residents are attended to immediately they request help. The food is very good and staff will always provide an alternative if
the resident requests. There is a lovely homely feel at The Belfry and all residents are treated with complete dignity.

We are so very happy with The Belfry. My father has been a resident here for nearly 7 months now and we feel blessed that Dad is being given such excellent care. The staff are amazing! The home is always clean and Dad is always clean and well presented. The food is excellent and there is a wonderful
caring atmosphere. The family are always welcomed. To top it all, Dad is happy! I think my mum would move in happily herself.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My father spent over 2 years at The Belfry Residential Care Home before dying this summer aged 97. We chose the home because it felt just that – like a home. Its smaller size meant that all residents are treated very much as individuals and it proved easy to get to know the staff and communicate with
them; I was always impressed with the professionalism of the staff, and the effective liaison possible between the home and the family. At The Belfry dad could choose to be sociable with others, or he could find a quiet space to read a book or listen to music if he wanted. It was clear that he enjoyed all his meals, and he could have a glass of Fosters in the evening – his favourite tipple. During all my visits I observed staff treating residents with dignity and respect at all times, addressing them very much as unique personalities with differing needs. I am very grateful for the care, kindness and compassion of all staff, enabling my father to end his days peacefully, securely and in comfort.

My mother has been a resident at The Belfry since October 2021. I am very happy with the good care she receives, not only that but the staff are completely professional but manage to create a homely feel and seem more like family and friends. I had looked at some other homes but this one stood out as
the only one I was happy for Mum to go to. Mum went there following a hospital stay to repair a broken femur bone, so wasn't very mobile, the carers were fantastic in the way they have carefully helped Mum regain her confidence. Communication is excellent and visits are carefully and safely managed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

We had to find a care home that was suitable for our mum/ Nan and luckily, through friends, we found the Belfry and what luck that was. From the minute we walked in, we knew she would be happy here. We told her she was going for a holiday to not panic her and after 2 weeks she stated she didn’t want
to come home. The care she received was nothing short of amazing. Nothing was too much and she was never made to feel a bother, she genuinely believed she was favourite but we know they were all treated like kings and queens. Unfortunately, our lovely mum/ nanny passed away during lockdown but we know she was happy, comfortable and surrounded by love until the very end. We can’t thank the Belfry enough for giving our mum/ Nan the best last years of her life. From flower arranging to sing-alongs to owls and ponies visiting, she always had a massive smile on her face. It really was like she was in a hotel. We are forever in debt to you all at the Belfry - thank you.

My first and lasting impression of the Belfry is of a kind, professional and very caring environment. From September 2019 through April 2021, my mother was a resident at the Belfry. The carers are extremely kind, friendly and professional, each resident is made to feel special and they cater to the
needs of each individual. I live abroad and felt totally at ease, knowing that my mother was so well cared for, especially during the last year when due to covid-19, travel and visiting loved ones proved challenging. The Belfry ensured all of their residents remained safe and well. If needed, the carers act swiftly to ensure medical advice is given and if required a doctor, this provides peace of mind, knowing that loved ones are in the best possible care. During our daily phone calls, my mother sounded happy and often there was laughter to be heard, which is lovely. The garden is pretty and provides a safe outdoor space for residents and guests. Highly recommended.

The care home was in close proximity to where I live. It was kept clean and tidy. The temperature was always acceptable, and fresh air was accessed when possible. The staff were all found to be exceptional. They were very friendly, extremely helpful and kept me fully advised of any concerns they had

My mother-in-law was placed into The Belfry in January 2021. At all times, since both she and ourselves have been kept updated with all aspects of her care. I would thoroughly recommend this home as the release of stress trying to ensure her safety and dignity was lifted immediately. I will always be
thankful her last days were spent in this lovely home with people on hand at all times.

The care she received was very good. The staff were extremely caring and patient and treated each resident as special individuals. They tried to make their lives there as good as possible despite each resident's physical or mental disabilities.
The home is light and bright with lovely furniture and
it rarely smells. The food is cooked on-site and is lovely. The residents can choose what to have for tea most evenings.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.738)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.738) out of 10 for The Belfry Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.938 for The Belfry Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (90 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.938
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Belfry Residential Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 12 registered maximum number of service users is 2.4, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
