My mum has dementia and Quenby is her home, her family and friends. At this very testing time for all of us, her whole family are so glad she is somewhere she gets looked after completely. Cuddles, chat, entertained, personal care to a very high standard. Excellent meals, home kept clean, clothes changed and washed frequently. I cannot thank everyone who works at Quenby enough for looking after my mum. I recommend and praise Quenby to everyone I know.

A very friendly and welcoming care home, with a lovely atmosphere. The staff are amazing with the residents and treat them with the utmost respect at all times. The care home is very clean with the staff’s attention to detail spot on. I would highly recommend Quenby to anyone.

My mum of 93, had a stroke in August 2020, and after weeks in hospital, it was recommended that she needed a six-week spell of respite to recover.
We made some enquiries locally about quality care homes, the name Quenby came up a few times. So made an appointment with the manager who showed me around the facility. I was impressed with the Events team and the activity they were doing whilst I was there. Living alone, since my father passed, mum was always lonely, plus with stenosis of the spine, making mobility difficult.

So, we told the Discharge team, our choice for mum, plus their Good CQC report, and booked a room for mum for the six weeks respite and be assessed. After this time, mum was so happy, made new friends, mobility much better, in fact, she decided that she wanted to stay in long term care! Mum has a new lease of life, thanks to the great management and wonderful caring staff at Quenby looking after our mother so well! "Carry on Quenby"!

I needed to find a care home for my mother, I had a shortlist of 4 or 5 homes to contact before I selected Quenby. I must say from the moment they first answered my call and after my first visit, I was totally confident that this home would be the very best for my mum.
All of the staff are amazing, and the residents become their friends. Lots of activities and visits to local places have been arranged before the restrictions. The staff genuinely care about their residents.
Visits have been really easy and very warm and enjoyable.

I can’t thank them enough.

This home looked after my mother for the last two years of her life. As a family, we were very worried about putting her in residential care but we didn't need to be. This is a lovely friendly home and the staff get to know their residents very well. It's that personal touch we wanted for our mum and made all the difference in the end. The staff looked after mum and us and guided us through her end of life care under the recently very difficult circumstances of the pandemic. We will always be grateful to the carers for being there for mum, to hold her hand when we couldn't.

I have thought long and hard about what I should write in my review of Quenby Care Home and have decided that there’s nothing really to think about. My dad initially went into Quenby for 2 weeks respite care after one of many stays in hospital due to falls. He has been a resident for 10 months now after deciding himself that he wanted to stay there as he didn’t feel safe living on his own. He’s happy, well-fed, and well looked after (physically and mentally). The staff (every single one of them) are amazing both in taking care of him and keeping us well informed. We have regular updates by way of photos, video calling, and telephone calls which we are so grateful for especially in these difficult times. Before lockdown, we always received a very warm welcome from everybody whenever we visited. Quenby is a homely place - it’s not The Ritz - but my dad wouldn’t be comfortable living in The Ritz and he most definitely is very comfortable in Quenby. I would highly recommend Quenby Care Home

My Sister has been in Quenby Care home for about four years now and I must say that when the present Manager was appointed it has changed beyond imagination.
She has completely transformed the home into somewhere where you would, without doubt, want your loved ones to be cared for.

The staff are incredibly efficient and caring from the management down and I feel so comfortable knowing that my sister is in such a loving environment.

I can not fault the staff in this care home; all of them have been brilliant in keeping families in touch with their loved ones with the ongoing lockdown. The care has been second to none by every single member of staff; food is also excellent. Activities are also excellent, and seeing a photo of a relative enjoying themselves, lifts the spirit for everybody. Well done team.

Mum is so happy at the home; she has been there over 4-years, and we were so pleased there was a space available when we needed it. My friend recommended Quenby, and we have been extremely pleased with everything. All the staff are very caring to residents as well as visitors; you can call anytime and are always warmly welcomed. The home is very clean, and they do so many activities and entertainment for the residents, which is lovely.

Quenby has been very good at looking after my nan and catering to her needs.
During the lockdown, they have been great at keeping us all up to date with what our family members have been doing even doing video calls and welcome window so we can still be in contact with our loved ones. All the staff have gone above and beyond it’s such a wonderful place for my nan to be!

Thank you.

I’ve been to see my Grandma a few times in the care home (she has been there about a year) with my Dad. The staff are always friendly and my Grandma always seems happy which is really important to me. They get plenty of food and refreshments throughout the day and I love seeing the photos in the home of outings and activities. Especially with everything going on at the moment, I think they are doing a brilliant job, it’s lovely seeing photos and updates in the group chat. So reassuring that my Grandma is being so well looked after. Thank you!

My mother has been in Quenby for a year now. She is very happy and says she feels safe and secure. The staff have done their utmost to look after her well. She is loving the food, the entertainment, the activities and the outings. I never fail to be impressed by how the staff not only are doing their job well but seem to genuinely care for the residents and show them great love and respect. It has been such a relief for my sister and I to know that mum has been so very well cared for in the past year. Thank you so much to all of the Quenby staff.

My mother spent a brief, but much happier, time at Quenby following an extremely unhappy 3 year period in her previous care home.

The staff at Quenby were professional, kind and caring and I would recommend that people visit this home to see what it can offer.

I always receive a welcome every time I visit my wife. This homely residence is where my wife has spent the last 13 months. It is reassuring for me to know she is well looked after. The manager and staff offer their full attention at all times.

A typical day when I visit - A welcome by one of the staff and I enquire about my wife and her whereabouts. She might be having her hair washed and blow dried or she may be joining in with an activity. Lunch is served around 12.30, after which there is a period of rest before further activities, and then afternoon tea is served. I then say goodbye for now. God bless everyone.

My dad died in this home in December. He had been in there for three years and eight months.
I couldn't believe at the funeral there were no flowers or a representative from the home, but I was very pleased with the care he had over his stay.
The food was good and he had a room overlooking the garden, also they had entertainment, craft, and games on a regular basis.
In the last two months of his life, I noticed a change in the atmosphere of the home as they changed managers.
When my dad was dying, she didn't speak to me or any of the relatives at all. Her door to the office was always shut.
She doesn't relate to residents or their families. When I rang and spoke to her, I said who I was, and when my dad's funeral was and she said who was your dad? That said it all.
I emailed the owner of the home twice with no reply. I couldn't believe he was so rude.
I hope staff don't start to leave as they are brilliant.

Before the change of manager I would have recommended this home but now I certainly wouldn't.
