The staff are always friendly, helpful and attentive. They give us the assurance that we want that they care about their resident's quality of life in their later years.
The room could do with a lick of paint, is my only criticism, but otherwise very satisfied.
Value for money is hard to answer,
as cannot compare it to other establishments so think my rating is fair.

Since Mum moved into Easterlea just before Christmas 2024, she had been made to feel part of the family there. All the carers are very friendly and I am made to feel part of the family on my visits there.
They have taken the time to find out about mum's interests and actively encouraged her to pursue
them. Being a keen gardener, mum has had an active role in getting the garden summer ready, from advising about suitable plants through to planning and planting them out. Nothing is too much trouble for the carers and I feel happy knowing that mum is in a safe and caring environment.

We chose this Care Home for Mum because it us relatively small (less than 20 residents) and the staff are caring, attentive and fully engaged in the well-being of the residents. I feel that the staff have come to fully know our Mum and that they genuinely care for her and about her. The management are
always on hand to listen to feedback and take steps to adress any concerns. We feel relieved to have found a welcoming and caring home for Mum and believe she is happy there. I can't praise the hard working staff enough

The rest home is very homely, having visited many homes for our mother-in-law, this was the home that we chose for our mother to reside in. The staff are very attentive delivering excellent care to each of the residents. My mother feels very safe in the home and has all her needs taken care of. The
staff and especially the managers of the home, are particularly hands on with the care and they are always available to listen to any minor issues that we may have and always take action on the issues. The introduction of the nourish system has been great and means that we can see at any time how my mother is and what she has been doing, together with the people who have visited her. As she has the onset of dementia she does not remember a lot of things, but with nourish, we can see what has been happening and prompt her to make conversation during our visit.

the staff at Easterlea Rest Home are all amazing. They have caring attitudes and have shown so much kindness towards our mother. They make relatives feel so welcome and have shown understanding and compassion when first settling mum into the home. The care home is smaller compared to some others but
the regular staff more than make up for it.

My dad moved into Easterlea after struggling to live on his own. From day one his quality of life improved immensely. The staff are friendly and supportive and made my dad feel like he was in a posh hotel. Attentive, caring, always willing to go that extra mile to ensure dad was well looked after. Even
as he reached the end, the quality of care and support to dad and the whole family was of the highest level.

My mum is very well looked after at Easterlea by very caring staff and management. Nothing is too much trouble, always happy and friendly. The meals are excellent and there is always a choice to choose from. There is a lovely garden and summer house which is well maintained. I would not hesitate to
recommend Easterlea to anyone.

Since moving into Easterlea my mother has put on weight, has colour in her cheeks, and is now able to get herself out of her chair to use her walker unaided. She has struggled with nighttime anxiety whilst still at her own home, but there is now care at night for her whenever she needs it. As a family,
we now feel she is safe!

I am really happy with the care Mum receives. Staff are friendly and caring; I can always ask management questions and know I'll get answers. Also, if I have concerns, I can chat them over. I am always welcome whenever I visit and can take Mum out, sit in the garden or go to her room. Mum loves the
garden, her room is bright, and she sleeps well there. It is such a relief knowing Mum is well cared for.

I have always found the staff and management super friendly, warm and caring. My aunt is very well cared for, is always clean and tidy and well dressed - colour coordinated, which my aunt is particular about. I am always offered a drink upon arrival and have also been invited to stay for lunch. The
food is tasty, well presented, and also given a choice of meals. The outdoor seating area is spacious and lovely, with flowers and hanging baskets. It's my opinion she couldn't;t be in a better place, and the home is always clean and tidy.

The care home is small enough to be very professional. The care from all staff including the manager is exceptional, and when visiting they always make you feel welcome. Mum took a while to settle in, but nothing seems to be too much trouble, so good that food is cooked in their kitchen including a
choice of cooked food for breakfast. The entertainment is regular with a lovely garden where residents are encouraged to sit out.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Easterlea to anyone. The staff are professional and competent, but above that, they are loving and caring. The home is well managed, and the atmosphere is always happy and friendly. When choosing a home we wanted somewhere friendly and homely, and we knew the food would
be important. Mum enjoyed the food, and for someone who'd always been a picky eater, that's a testament to the good cooking and variety of meals, with Sunday roasts as a highlight.

My mother has been a resident at Easterlea for a year. When my sister and I first looked for a rest home, we visited several with Easterlea being the first. We were both immediately taken by the friendly welcome and the rest home seemed just that, a home, and subsequently became the one we chose. My
mother is suffering from Alzheimer's, so we needed somewhere where she would be well looked after with an understanding of her condition. Over the past year, with all its COVID-19 problems, I consider that the Easterlea management and staff have responded extremely well, adapting when necessary and ensuring that the well-being and safety of residents and staff are the main priority. I would not hesitate to recommend Easterlea.

After visiting several larger homes, we chose Easterlea because it is small and independent, with a happy, friendly atmosphere. Several members of staff have worked there for some years; a reassuring sign of stability in these turbulent times. My father was a resident for just over two years, settling
in well and enjoying the companionship and activities on offer. He loved his room and appreciated not having to worry about shopping, cooking and cleaning. Easterlea worked tirelessly to accommodate his needs and when he became ill we had regular updates regarding his care. The experienced and compassionate team monitored him closely, and we very much appreciated the flexibility of access allowed for his end of life care.

Mum came to Easterlea after a fall at home to help her get stronger so we could see if she was able to go back home and live alone.
She was made very welcome and comfortable from the moment she arrived. All of the staff were very friendly and kind, we were very happy with the level of care that mum
received. Easterlea is a comfortable happy home we would highly recommend to others.

I originally contacted Easterlea for short term respite care when my father developed rapid onset dementia following a fall. Due to his deterioration, we decided it was best for him to stay there as a full resident. The staff were all fantastic, caring and patient. They kept us informed and "in the
loop" and looked after him until he sadly passed away. He was always clean and shaved, up and dressed smartly each day and the food was excellent. This was care as it should be delivered - Thank you.

My Nan was very happy, enjoyed a little chat with care staff. All my Nan's needs were met. She enjoyed all meals except fish so she would be offered something else. She was well looked after. Carer's always made family members welcome any time of the day.
I would recommend this care home.
It was
a comfort to know my Nan was looked after and no worry's for her.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.211)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.211) out of 10 for Easterlea Rest Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.611 for Easterlea Rest Home is calculated as follows: ( (50 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.611

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Easterlea Rest Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 19 registered maximum number of service users is 3.8, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
