My mother has recently died at the Easterlea after a short illness. The level of care she has received throughout her two and a half years in the home has been exemplary in every way, in particular, her final weeks when it was so reassuring to know she was getting the care she deserved.

My mother has been at the Easterlea Rest Home since October 2017. It is always a difficult transition when living independently and moving to residential care.
The management and staff have been fantastic to help mum settle in and she now is very happy in her new home.

My mother is being well looked after by the caring staff and has everything she needs.
I have no worries with any medical treatment she may require and if there's a problem I always receive a prompt telephone call.
She loves the food that the chef prepares to her liking, no complaints at all.
To
anyone contemplating a home, I would not hesitate to recommend Easterlea Rest Home.

This home has a wonderful ambience; it is welcoming and friendly. All the residents appear active and happy. The staff are empathetic and treat my husband in day care with dignity and professionalism.

There are regular activities involving art and music. My husband attends the home twice a week

for 4 hours. He has settled in and now looks forward to his visits.

My mother used Easterlea for Day Care recently. The welcome from the staff and residents could not have been warmer. She had a lovely day and was really lively and happy afterwards. The home has a wonderful family feel with very caring staff. They coped really well with her short-term memory loss.

I

cannot speak too highly of Easterlea Daycare and Mum is looking forward to coming back. Thank you.

An excellent home where carers take the time to get to know the residents, their history and their health. Lots of activities too. My mum had been in a bad way and she now takes interest in the music, pets and activities. The food is homemade and mum is looking good. A wonderful home with wonderful
carers.

The level of care given to my mother is excellent. Her needs are paramount. The staff are friendly and caring. The food is cooked on site and is nutritious and varied. Residents are visited by outside individuals and organisations providing enrichment and entertainment. The management is wholly professional
and very experienced. They maintain effective links with GPs etc. Easterlea provides a comfortable and homely environment.

We have visited once a week at different times and found the level of care consistent. Staff are always welcoming and there is a general happy feeling in the community.
An area where entertainment could be improved is an external outing that would give the more able residents a day out.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.211)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.211) out of 10 for Easterlea Rest Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.611 for Easterlea Rest Home is calculated as follows: ( (50 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.611
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Easterlea Rest Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 19 registered maximum number of service users is 3.8, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
