Shedfield Lodge was built in the early 1800s as a Manor House set in Victorian rural pastures in the heart of the Meon Valley. To this day the building has been restored to reflect original designs providing a long established care home for the elderly. Grazing ponies, open fields and a landscaped garden provide a quiet rural feel only 10 minutes drive from Fareham or 5 minutes drive from Wickham.

My mother has been at Shedfield Lodge for 4 years now. Shedfield Lodge has very much been part of my mother's dementia journey, supporting her every need along with reassuring family members as well. They genuinely care for my mother as if she is part of their family and my mother always seems happy
there and well cared for. The staff and management are always friendly with excellent communication skills with any health, care plan and medication updates. I can highly recommend this care home. We are so lucky that we found such a fantastic care home for my mother.

My mother was at Shedfield Lodge for nearly 3 and a half years. She was very well looked after during the pandemic when we couldn't visit. My mother was treated with kindness and dignity throughout her time at Shedfield Lodge. During her last days all the staff were very kind to myself and my daughter,
nothing seemed too much trouble. There were always kind words.

My mother has been at this home for nearly 3-years, and as her dementia sadly becomes worse, her care has been adjusted. The staff all know what she likes and dislikes, despite her ability to talk using words correctly and treat her so kindly, like she is a member of their family. They treat her with
genuine kindness, and she is happy there; smiling at the staff like she does her own family, which is reassuring, as you know if she does not like you with the look she gives.


Staff communicate with all the family well and make sure we know of all incidents and how she is overall. They have gone out of their way to help us see her before she forgets us totally, and to keep the residents safe, even staying on-site during the lockdown in March 2020.


I cannot recommend this home and the caring staff highly enough for anyone that has dementia (although not for residents that do not have this terrible illness as there are too many high-end dementia cases for those with other medical challenges).

My uncle lived at Shedfield Lodge for the last 18 months of his life. Moving him from a care home he didn't like, my 'orders' were - a place in the country, with animals and he wanted it to feel homely. I wanted somewhere that met all his needs and not too far for so I could visit him easily. The
rest is history. He loved the garden, he spent most of last summer outside and it made him happy, when he had a difficult day. He made references to me about it always. He got very fond of some of the staff, and would point out the ones who were good girls, and I know he loved the banter he was able to have with them, and I had no worries about his care or that he was well-loved. He appreciated the age of the building and the size of his room. There have been many improvements made to the interior and exterior of the home during his stay. Lastly, the care, support and kindness given to him and myself, from management and staff, especially as end of life came, was second to none.

I could not wish for my husband to be better cared for. He is treated with respect, care and love. I especially like the way they promote his independence and dignity. The staff are very helpful and understanding as he can be difficult and aggressive. I am happy he is so well looked after.

Such a wonderful care home for my grandad. The staff are very nice and always helpful, I always enjoy the entertainment and sing with Grandad. I know he is well looked after all the time, always clean and tidy as he always was. Well done to all the staff that support him, they really do work hard.

Mum was originally in a care facility in Gloucestershire. I wasn’t happy with the care and conditions but was at a loss as to what to do. I spoke to the owner of Shedfield Lodge and he sorted everything out for us.
Mum was transferred by taxi from Gloucestershire to Shedfield where a room had been
prepared for her.
Mum loved Shedfield and the staff and all her needs were taken care of and our stress levels dissipated.
Awesome service and care.

My Grandad came to live at Shedfield Lodge as he was no longer able to cope at home. As a family, it was very hard for all of us to accept this had to happen but we couldn’t have wished for a better home for him. He felt very at home here. The staff and management are absolutely fantastic. Everybody

I found the daily routine of the facility well-coordinated and well-executed. The core staff at the Lodge are well motivated, dedicated and compassionate towards all of the residents.
Back up/agency support takes a few days to align themselves to the daily routine. A great deal of flexibility and
tolerance is always shown towards the more difficult residents.
The facility is kept scrumptiously clean at all times.
My wife's room is comfortable and private.

Shedfield Lodge has looked after my husband since February 2017. I cannot praise this home enough, when I visit my husband he is always smartly dressed, clean and well fed and happy in his own world and the environment he lives in. The whole management team strive to constantly be up to date with all
new procedures that are going on in the Dementia world and always trying to get local businesses to understand Dementia and the problems associated with it. I have to mention it was my birthday yesterday I went to see my husband and the management and owners got my husband a massive bouquet of flowers and a birthday cake for him to give to me. The carers and team are so understanding of all the residents' needs. During this hot weather, they are constantly giving them cold drinks and ice pops. Summing up, I would not want my husband anywhere else.

The staff are very caring and look after my mum extremely well. Shedfield Lodge was recommended to me and I'm so thankful that it was.

Mum could be an awkward, argumentative person but the staff dealt with her extremely well.
She had several medical problems which were also dealt with extremely well. Mum wasn't happy in her later years, nothing was ever right, the staff had the patience of saints.

The staff are kind. Talk to the residents. Know their likes and dislikes and know who I am when I visit and tell me where my mother is. She is clean and appears content. They deal with some often abusive residents in a calm and professional manor.

My mother is well cared for at Shedfield Lodge and I have found the care staff generally to be very kind to my mother and am confident that she is well treated.
I have had occasion to raise some minor concerns, but am pleased that my concerns have, or are being addressed.
The Care Manager was extremely
helpful to me when the difficult time came to make the decision to place my mother in care and continue to offer support to me.
I would happily recommend Shedfield Lodge to others as I know that my mother is happy in the home, and I now know that I made the right choice for her ongoing care.

My Mother has been at Shedfield Lodge for over 2 years and we have never had any concerns over her care. The staff all seem to be kind and considerate to all the residents even under the pressure that goes with the job. We attended a summer party last year and all the staff were motivated to give the
residents an enjoyable 40's experience which was much appreciated by residents and visitors alike. Communication with the home is excellent, we are contacted on a regular basis with any points concerning my Mother's care.
The home itself is a listed building and therefore not the easiest on the eye but it is clean and it is the carers and management that make the home, not the bricks and mortar.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this home
