Mum has settled in well at Kinross. The staff are great they really take their time with the residents. Always clean everywhere and there's a nice little garden you can sit in under the shade. Whenever we go Mum seems happy sat in the day room with the other residents. Myself and the rest of the family
are happy that Mum is safe and well looked after.

Kinross is a very lovely home, staff are very helpful and caring and are always there for the residents when they need them, food is home-cooked, always presented well on the plate and very tasty. The management team are also on hand whenever you need a question answered. The home has a lovely homely

The Kinross team work to keep the residents safe and happy and are always smiling. The manager and the deputy managers are always walking around the home making sure all residents have everything they need, the chef always meets the residents, which is nice. The residents are always happy and relaxed. Thank you, Kinross for taking great care of your service users.

My father was only in the care home for 4 weeks. He was well looked after and cared for. During his last week, the staff were very caring and treated him with dignity. My wife and I were also cared for at this difficult time. The home is very clean and the home is well maintained.

Always found the staff friendly and welcoming. My mam is well fed and clean. She has dementia, so it's difficult to get her view on things.

During a difficult year, my mum has been resident here - at all times we have been treated very warmly and mum has been treated with respect. Her meals are exactly what someone of her generation enjoys and care is taken to ensure she eats and drinks. She obviously enjoys being here and the company and
care she receives are of great reassurance to us.

My mum only went in for 2 weeks respite and the change since coming home was huge. Make sure relatives do their own itinerary of belongings as my mum was sent home with items that belong to other residents! So the laundry system is very poor, most items had been put in a tumble drier and they had been
over-dried. My mum's false teeth are still missing although staff tried to give me another resident's false teeth and pot. I have made several visits returning other items and collecting missing items from my mum's belongings. New procedures need to be implemented which treble check all belongings for residents are accountable. No calls returned from management or staff about my mum's teeth. Hard to comment on areas of the home as I did not enter past Reception due to Covid. Although I was happy for a break, if I was more aware of how my mum's illness and lack of mobility/incontinence would progress she would never have gone to this home.

Even though this care home is old-fashioned, I have found it with good caring staff and a homely atmosphere. The food is adequate and nutritious but I found the room where my friend is rather small and smelt musty. The windows did not open properly so I fear if there was an emergency it could get quite
scary. Overall I would give a 7 out of 10.

My parent has been a resident of Kinross for the last couple of months. Although the transition has been a bit difficult the care that my parent is receiving has been handled with kindness.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.262)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.262) out of 10 for Kinross is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.792 for Kinross is calculated as follows: ( (19 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.792

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.47 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kinross is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 29 registered maximum number of service users is 5.8. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.8 = 0.345

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
