From the day my mum arrived at Brighstone Grange to the day she sadly passed away, every single member of staff showed her care, kindness and compassion, nothing was too much trouble for them to sort out or arrange for her. They took time to get to know her as a person, not just a resident. I feel they would care for their own parents just as they cared for her.
Living overseas, it was an enormous comfort to know she was surrounded by people who genuinely looked after her especially when I couldn't be there. That is something I will always be thankful for and I only wish she had moved there sooner.
I could write volumes about Brighstone Grange, even though she was there for only 3 months. The staff kept us informed and updated about everything, from important medical decisions to funny moments and anecdotes they shared with her.

Brighstone Grange is so much more than a care home - it truly is a home from home and we will always remember the love and exceptional care they gave her.

Christmas this year was special for me as I was able to spend Christmas eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day with my mum at the home.
Every member of staff on duty was warm and welcoming and made us feel at home. Lots of smiles and fun.
The leadership and management of the home over the festive period was excellent. The teams working together were organised and everyone's individual needs, including my mums were seen to be catered for.
The provision of excellent festive food was done in a non-institutionalised manner by the catering staff. They always have a smile and take pride in the food they have cooked and deliver.
I can go to sleep at night knowing my mum is very well cared for, happy and safe.

Thank you.

Mum has loved every minute of her stay at Brighstone Grange. All of the staff are professional, caring and nothing is beyond the call of duty whoever it may be! The food is excellent and the Grange is warm and clean. Mum would be taken to a community choir once a week, which she thoroughly enjoyed, as she loved to sing. When visiting there is always a friendly face to greet you and an offer of refreshment. The standard is definitely 5 star.

The staff at Brighstone Grange are so lovely not only to my mumma but also to all family and friends who visit at the home.
They always offer to help or make a cup of tea etc. Mum absolutely adores all staff at Brighstone, she loves them like family which is really special!

They have an activity calendar with a different activity every single day which is amazing and impressive, especially for Mum who is a younger resident. The home is lovely, always clean and tidy, Mum's room and washing are also kept clean and tidy also. The food always smells delicious and Mum loves, so that's a good sign! Management to housekeeping staff, everyone is friendly and always up for having a laugh with Mum, which she really needs. Thank you guys so, so much!

Overall Experience
My aunt has resided at the Grange in Brighstone since December 2023.
She did not want to leave her home but her health had deteriorated necessitating more care than could be provided at home.
She settled really well but had a few ‘blips’ where she asked to go home and didn’t want to stay.
However, I am delighted that she seems now to be content. She is a private person who likes her own company but she spends all her time in the lounge with others.
I find the staff really pleasant, respectful and kind. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and they create a warm, friendly and happy environment for all residents, despite some challenging behaviour at times! My aunt seems to be very grateful to all carers and I am so pleased for the warm welcome I am always given.
I couldn’t speak more highly of the surroundings in which my aunt lives, her bedroom is always spotlessly clean as are all areas. The food always smells and looks delicious.

Thank you very much.

My father has been living at Brighstone Grange for over 2 years now and he really enjoys living there, finding the staff extremely supportive and helpful and the food is always good.
I find the staff to be really nice and they really care about my father and always keep me informed if there are any problems with his health. I am very happy with Brighstone overall. It is set in a lovely location and nothing is too much for them.

I would like to see more entertainment in the home for the residents as they seem to spend a lot of their time not doing much and it would be nice if they could go out or have more people come in to entertain them.

Reply from Ian Bennett, Managing Director at Brighstone Grange

I have always found the staff friendly, caring and helpful. The choice of meals is very adequate and drinks are brought round regularly.
My mother is always treated kindly and with dignity relating to personal care.

It would be nice if there were more activities available and musical afternoons or events.
