My Mum has been very well cared for by the wonderful staff at Northbrooke House for 18 months. Since the time she arrived she was treated with respect and dignity. As a family, we have been welcomed into the community by all the staff. I visit my Mum several times a week and am always greeted by
staff with a smile. My Mum is always clean and well cared for. She does not join in many of the activities but is still a part of all that goes on. Sadly my Mum died in January. During the last two days of her life I cannot express enough gratitude for all that was done to make her comfortable. The staff with whom we were close to at that time could not have done more to care for my Mum and to support me and our family. Their obvious love for Mum was evident in their reaction to her passing. I could not have wished for more at that difficult time.
Thank you, my Mum always said the staff were angels, and you certainly proved it to me too.
Reply from Ian Bennett, Managing Director at Northbrooke HouseThank you for taking the time to share such kind words about the care provided at Northbrooke House.
We are deeply grateful that you felt welcomed and supported during your Mum's time with us. It means a great deal to our team to know that she was treated with the dignity, respect and compassion that every person deserves.
Your comments about the care given during her final days will be especially meaningful to the staff who were with her. Supporting residents and their families at such an important time is a privilege we never take lightly.
Thank you again for your thoughtful review. It reminds us why we do what we do - creating a place where people feel cared for, valued, and where families feel they truly belong.

Motivated staff. Experienced leader with happy teams. Lots of individual care in place. Safe and good examples shown with dealing with challenging behaviour of their clients. Warm, clean and safe environment. Encouragement of support from family, friends and the community.

Christmas this year was special for me as I was able to spend Christmas eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day with my mum at the home.
Every member of staff on duty was warm and welcoming and made us feel at home. Lots of smiles and fun.
The leadership and management of the home over the festive period
was excellent. The teams working together were organised and everyone's individual needs, including my mums were seen to be catered for.
The provision of excellent festive food was done in a non-institutionalised manner by the catering staff. They always have a smile and take pride in the food they have cooked and deliver.
I can go to sleep at night knowing my mum is very well cared for, happy and safe.
Thank you.

This is to thank all the staff for your loving care that does not go unnoticed. During a recent visit I was warmed by the way in which you interact with the residents, showing a great understanding of each individual. I saw a staff member reassure a resident, another chatting with a resident and taking
part in an activity. I noticed how a staff member lowered herself to be at eye level with a resident to chat to her and ensure she was ok and provide reassurance. Another member talking very calmly and in a loving way to a resident providing an explanation of what was happening.
Then there was humour and laughter with another resident, and senior staff checking that everything that needed doing was being done. Great communication between the staff members and a very organised and calm environment. The chef cooked some great meals and cleaners also chatted to residents in passing whilst cleaning areas in the home. A staff member taking someone out for a walk as they wished to go out.
I have seen fantastic things at the home.
Each and every staff member makes a difference to people's lives - they are brilliant at what they do.
A huge thank you to all the staff. We are lucky to have you looking after our loved ones.

Please be aware that this home does not cater for all dementia like it said on line my father has complex dementia and had care plan for this and 1 to1 12 hours a day in the morning before his 1to1 come on .his mat bell went off it took 14.34 mins to react to this so he shuffled around corridor and
went into another residence room where a incident happened because of this my father was gaven a eviction notice so them have put him in a locked room with his 1 to 1 during day and his Own at night because moving him isn't quick enough they are adding thing to his care plan to get his sectioned would thing twice about putting a relative in this home because if their need change they just tell lies and evict them
Reply from Ian Bennett, Managing Director at Northbrooke HouseI'm very sorry to read your comments and that you feel disappointed with the care provided to your father. This used to be a very welcoming home but no longer the case.sadly the manager rarely comes out of the office to interact with residents or family. The residents look bored., entertainment very poor.Same few residents go on regular outings in minibus leaving others with no activities, except when CQC
due then every game and activity on display. Many residents in one lounge with small television in one corner, often tv and radio going together .one resident likes to take control of tv and keep changing channels.Food plentiful but too much my relative has put on over a stone in 6 months, snack table in lounge to help themselves to chocolate, biscuits, crisps not good for those with dementia unable to weigh up healthy choices.Has a garden but residents only able to use with supervision and not encouraged to go out. Some carers are very caring, housekeeping staff pleasant. Often delay in answering call bells noticed when visiting.
Reply from Ian Bennett, Managing Director at Northbrooke HouseWe are sorry to hear that you feel disappointed with aspects of your relative's experience. Our team strives to create a warm engaging environment for all residents with an activities programme that includes both on-site entertainment & regular trips. These are designed to support residents' interests, mobility and wellbeing, while ensuring everyone can participate in ways suited to their individual needs and wishes. We believe that access to familiar snacks and drinks throughout the day is an important part of helping residents feel at home. This reflects our "food that feels like family" approach which aims to promote comfort, independence and reduce institutional living. We're sorry you've felt there has been less visibility from our management team recently - please be assured that the manager remains closely involved in daily operations of the home.We are sorry that your relative's time with us did not fully meet your expectations. We wish him and your family well for the future.

The manager is wonderful lady and truly cares about her staff and the patients. The staff, on the whole, are a credit to her although their accents are often a hurdle for the patients. Food is good but the kitchen in the dining room could use some TLC. Overall, I'm very impressed.

Mum has loved every minute of her stay at Brighstone Grange. All of the staff are professional, caring and nothing is beyond the call of duty whoever it may be! The food is excellent and the Grange is warm and clean. Mum would be taken to a community choir once a week, which she thoroughly enjoyed,
as she loved to sing. When visiting there is always a friendly face to greet you and an offer of refreshment. The standard is definitely 5 star.

My wife and I are in our 80's and have visited many Care Homes to see relatives and friends over recent years.
None of these homes have not come up the exceptional standard of cleanliness and care that we have seen at Hazel Lodge.
Our aunt who will be 100 in Nov this year had tried to maintain her
independence in her own home until she suffering a recent fall. She is now thoroughly enjoying all the care and activities that Hazel Lodge provides.
She has admitted that she wishes she had decided much earlier.
We have witnessed some of the activities that have been provide for the residents and what struck us the most is the care and dedication to all the residents regardless of their problems.
We have come away from the home feeling that we have been privileged to be part of a big happy family.
All staff and management are cheerful, considerate and welcoming to us.
