Ongoing health conditions, dietary requirements, and other physical or mental needs are managed by the team, who provide specialist medical, emotional, and practical support to ensure life is lived to the fullest.
Barton Court is the only care home in Sheppey and the wider area to welcome under-65s who need residential care support if they have experienced a stroke, head injury, amputation, or early-onset dementia.
Food is cooked and prepared in-house by Barton Court's kitchen team and can be taken socially in the dining areas or in a resident's room - the choice is theirs.
The team also offers activities to support wellbeing, hobbies, learning, and interests. The minibus is often used for trips to local attractions or the nearby beach, just a mile away. The annual summer BBQ and group boat trips are always a highlight.

All the staff work so hard to make sure he's as comfortable as he can be and check him regularly Debbie has been really good, and Bruce really trusts her so I know when she is on duty that he will do as he's told. My partner is in Barton Court, she is suffering from Dementure and otherwise is in good health, Since becoming a resident Deb's has put on a few pounds and generally looks better. I go to visit as and when I can and I am always made welcome, an offer of tea and biscuits most welcome. There is plenty of staff to ask if I have any questions, I am impressed with the security and this is not overbearing, If the staff wish to speak to me they pull me aside so that it dosent upset any of the residents. I have seen the food menu and this is better than most, a wide selection of food and there is a good selection of tea, coffee or fruit juice, this is dispenced by a cheerful member of staff. I noticed that the residence seem to be encouraged to wander arround the complex, this gives a degree of friendship and the staff are on first name terms with everybody, this is excellent for a care home as most do not have anyone else in their last days.

Our mother, who suffers from dementia, was moved to Barton Court by Social Services in December 2024 following a hospital stay. From the start my sister and were very pleased with the care and support given to her and us and so when she became self funding we elected to keep her there. The staff are exceptional-always happy and kind and trying their best to make residents comfortable, safe and as contented as their various needs make it possible. She had her own personalised space with her own things and furniture. There are regular activities at the home to involve and entertain the residents from which Mum benefitted. Whenever we visited or phoned any member of staff we spoke to knew how our mother was feeling and how she had been since the last time. They worked with us regarding Mum's increasing medical needs, liaising jointly with us and various health professionals and respected our views. We were sad to have to move Mum when her dementia and health needs increased such that she required 1-1 support and nursing ca.

Visiting Barton Court recently to visit a resident was a very pleasant experience. It was, as usual, clean and bright with happy (but not intrusive) music playing. The tea trolley came round with drinks and biscuits for everyone. The staff were, as usual, friendly and helpful.

I feel my Mum has been well looked after, ever since she has been in the home, I feel she is safe and happy. The staff are very approachable, and friendly. Also, I feel I can visit my Mom whenever I feel I need and want to see her. I came to Barton Court in May this year just to see what it was like. I have now decided to stay for good. I have found the place is cleaned every day and is always bright and has plenty of fresh air. The carers and all staff are very friendly and helpful... could not do enough for you. They give you plenty of varied meals, and if you wanted more, you only have to ask. There are three gardens to sit in, one with exercise machines. The doctor comes once a week if you need to see him. Also, the hairdresser and chiropodist. The entertainment - there is something going on every day if you want to join in. Also, outings in the minibus and two or three barbecues, weather permitting. Entertainers come to the home. I think I have found the best care home.
