We are most grateful for the wonderful care our friend received during the seven years she was at The Cumberland Care Home. When she first arrived there she had numerous care needs. These were met with compassion and understanding. As her needs changed so did the care. The staff were always friendly, welcoming and supportive. We are thankful for all our friend received.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this positive review. We are delighted that you were happy with the care your friend received and hope she is settled in her new home.
I have found all the staff to be very kind and welcoming. My mother has settled in well, despite being very anti-care home in the past. No one wants to put a parent in a home, but as it may be the safest option, the excellent care at The Cumberland is to be commended.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review, it is appreciated. We are delighted to hear that your mother has settled in and that you find the care has been excellent. I will pass on your feedback to the manager and team.
Excellent for all care.
Thank you so much for completing this review and for the positive feedback. This is very much appreciated and will be shared with the manager and team.
My husband went to stay at The Cumberland 5 weeks ago. I can see him whenever I like (within reason). My husband has Alzheimer's and is fully incontinent, he is so well taken care of day and night, especially night. That is when his sleep pattern has changed, he's up and down all the time and poos himself and his bed, but the staff (night staff) are on it. There is a sensor on his bed so they know when he gets up and they wash and change him as often as he needs to be changed. Very happy with The Cumberland. I feel happy that my husband is safe in their hands and well taken care of.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this very positive review. We are thrilled with the feedback and delighted that you have chosen us to support you in the care of your lovely husband. We will share the feedback with the manager and team.
The Cumberland is a care home for ladies with dementia and has been home to mum for the last 10 years. The Cumberland is always clean and the staff are very welcoming and extremely good caregivers to all residents nothing is too much trouble and mum is cared for in a kind and supportive way at all times. I would not hesitate in recommending this care home.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review, we do appreciate it. We are overjoyed to hear that you are happy with our service. It has been an absolute delight to care for your mum over the past decade and we will continue to strive to ensure she is cared for in a kind and supportive...
An "all ladies" home is unusual to find (in my opinion) but it suits Mum so well. The Cumberland isn't huge but that just means much more personal attention for the ladies. The staff are so friendly to me and helpful, and understanding of my feelings as Mum's condition declines. They are so caring with the ladies - it does come across as a big family. There are lots of activities organised and I am so happy I chose The Cumberland for Mum.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are delighted to hear you feel the Cumberland is such a perfect choice for your mum. We do like to think of ourselves as one big family so it is especially heartwarming that you feel we come across in this way. It is an honour to care for your mum and to work in partnership with you. I will pass on your positive comments to the team.
From the first day until now, Mum has been cared for with kindness and dignity (I would say even love). Nothing seems to be too much trouble and everything is done with a smile. The management and staff have done an amazing job during the pandemic and there has not been a single case of COVID in the home, staff, or residents. I would not hesitate to recommend The Cumberland to any family looking for a safe and caring home for their relative.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. We are touched by your kind words and are delighted that you are so happy with your mum's care. I will pass on your comments to the managers and staff.
The Cumberland staff have always treated Mum with such care and dignity. All through this pandemic, the safety of all its residents and staff have been paramount, and they have achieved this with no Covid in the home amongst its ladies. It has allowed us as a family to have peace of mind throughout this worrying time. Fantastic care home.
Want to say how wonderful the home and all its staff have been during the pandemic. I cannot praise them highly enough. They have continually saved lives. Incidentally, more than one health professional has praised their care in conversation with me.
Wonderful caring staff. My mom is so happy and well looked after.
The most amazing thing about The Cumberland was the ability to assess Mum's needs, to change her care and her routine to suit her needs without Mum noticing or me having to ask for changes. The home was brilliant, Mum lived her last 6 and a half years at The Cumberland, as happy as she Could be, although of course, she had her moans. In a strange way, it was a very happy time for me. I made friends, both clients, and staff. I called in most days, at different times of the day and the welcome was always the same.
I would thoroughly recommend The Cumberland to anyone needing the services of a care home. All the staff are caring in the true meaning of the word. Visitors are made very welcome and are immediately informed of any concerns of the resident. You can clearly see how residents are treated with dignity which is essential. All the staff are very nice and caring.
Food; generous portions, healthy balanced diets with home cooking. Warm in winter.
Music played on the radio, TV and occasional therapy.
We visit at all times of the day and the standard of care and cleanliness is always the same.
My aunt has been at The Cumberland since August 2016. I have always had every confidence that she is in good hands and being well looked after in every way. The staff are all very dedicated, without exception and she responds to them very well.
We are always made very welcome when we visit.
The Cumberland provides a wonderful service that is very difficult to find any negative comments to make. The staff and management are of the highest standard. Support and help given to mum is excellent. The only slight downside is the allotted area for visitors which is short of seating.
The place itself is not the most well appointed, but it's all about the atmosphere and care, with everybody exuded confidence and compassion. Thank goodness we found it and thank goodness they had room for mum.
If you are looking for a care home I cannot recommend The Cumberland highly enough. My mother was very well cared for and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. I was always greeted warmly on my regular visits to mum as were the rest of my family. The Cumberland has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are always very caring, also making visitors feel very welcome. The staff are very knowledgeable and available to answer questions at any time. The home is very clean and well looked after. I often walked in, to the ladies having a little sing song and sometimes a little dance around the lounge. I still go back to visit as they became a second family. I could not find fault with anything at The Cumberland.
Excellent in every possible way. Not only is this home exceptionally well-managed, but the care provided by the staff is of outstanding quality. The residents are genuinely loved by the staff, and there is always a welcome for family members. The home is exceptionally clean, with no lingering smells. If there is a medical problem, medical care is always on hand. There can be very few homes of this high standard in the UK giving such expert care to those suffering from dementia.
