The manager and staff have once again organised their wonderful Annual Garden Party for residents, family and friends. The food and drinks were generous, the BBQ excellent, as were the singers who entertained us throughout the afternoon. Tributes were paid to past and current members of staff, allowing
us to show our appreciation for everything they do for our loved ones. Staff continued their attentive care, making sure that residents were well fed, hydrated, had sun hats and sun cream, making the most of the window of sunshine, on a day when the weather forecast was for rain. It was great to see residents singing along to well known numbers, with staff and guests dancing too. A great family celebration which epitomises the ethos of Glendale Lodge. All hands to the deck returning residents, furniture and food indoors as storm clouds gathered. A fantastic event!

Another amazing summer social event for our families, I honestly can't say enough wonderful things about the staff and the home overall. My mum is so loved and well cared for. Her room is spotless, her clothes well looked after, and everything she could possibly want is provided. The programme of events
put on by the activities coordinator is varied and stimulating. Registered Manager and her team are faultless. Thank you, all of you.

My Nan has been in Glendale or (GD) as our family refer to it since April 2024. All I can say is that life at GD is absolutely amazing, the staff are superb, every little detail is thought of to make life comfortable for residents. As a family it was a big decision to support Nan with her move however,
from day one it has been excellent. The staff are all approachable and fun, they are always happy to discuss any suggestions and implement them without delay. As a family we always feel welcome, it feels like we are going to 'Nans House' with tea and biscuits always available and staff and residents to chat with. The atmosphere there is always upbeat, you can hear people laughing which Nan finds really comforting. Nan is always saying how good to food is! I can vouch for this as family members can book in for lunch (for a minimal fee) and enjoy lunch together! The activities and entertainment are fun, bingo, board games, arts and crafts to name a few. Well done team GD"

There are not enough superlatives to describe what a WONDERFUL place Glendale Lodge is. As soon as you cross the threshold, you are immediately struck by the uplifting, happy atmosphere. You can tell how much the lovely staff genuinely care, for both residents and their visitors alike and nothing
is too much trouble. The whole place is absolutely spotless and the food that is prepared for residents is home cooked to perfection and always looks very appetising. It is SO reassuring to know that your loved ones are in such kind, safe and capable hands and I am so grateful for the TLC the staff there bestow, they are all ABSOLUTE angels and Glendale Lodge are very lucky to have them in their employ

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.915)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.915) out of 10 for Glendale Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.915 for Glendale Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (43 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 47 Ratings = 4.915
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Glendale Lodge is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.4 = 0.625
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
