My mother has just returned from 2 weeks of respite care at Tynwald, while we attended a wedding abroad. Everything was excellent. Communication beforehand was very professional. Staff were warm, caring and extremely positive. The food and activities were great. Above all, we felt our mother was looked after by the professionals and we were completely relaxed about leaving her in their care. Would 100% recommend Tynwald.
Many thanks for your review, it was a pleasure looking after your mother, so you could relax and enjoy the wedding. We would gladly look after Mum again, she is more than welcome to come and join us for a day for lunch and activities or for a week's holiday. Hopefully, we'll see you all again soon.
My mother came to Tynwald Residential Home very suddenly after the previous care home closed at short notice. She has only been there for 3 months but the care has been excellent and the staff really try to fulfil residents' wishes where possible. There are a lot of activities and the home is very nice and caring.
Many thanks for your kind review, we are very proud of our home and all of our staff to ensure each resident receives the care and their needs are met to a high standard.
Tynwald Residential Home offered respite care for me. Two weeks being looked after. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and kindness shown to me. Always make time for me (whether they have it or not). We could laugh or cry - always caring for the whole person. Such good teamwork throughout. Evidence of good leadership and happy staff. And the food, well, so good. Well prepared and presented (and plenteous). Ten out of ten and deserves more!
Hopefully, we'll see you soon.
Food and drinks were offered all around, a really nice lunch was provided, all staff were dressed for the occasion. Good day.
Many thanks for your review, we're so glad you and all the residents had a lovely day. All the staff work hard to ensure the day went smoothly. More events will be held throughout the year.
All the staff are very caring and respectful of residents. Every occasion throughout the year is celebrated, with residents involved in making decorations etc. There is a very warm atmosphere in the home and visitors always made welcome. Excellent chef and the most wonderful spread of buffet food for the coronation on the 6th of May. Every effort made by staff to make it a memorable and special day for all.
Many thanks for your review, it's a joy to see everyone having a lovely time. It's a joy to hear everyone laughing and having fun. There will be more to follow this year with events in the home.
Everyone, whatever their role, was always so kind. Mum enjoyed all of the activities: visiting singers and musicians, bingo, arts and crafts and when she was well enough, going out for trips. If there was an occasion, it was celebrated! Mum always said that her meals were lovely, such a compliment given that she was a professional cook for most of her working life. She loved having her nails painted and the last time these were done she chose blue! Up to her major stroke in March 2023, she had almost three very happy years at Tynwald Residential Home.
Many thanks for the review. It was a pleasure looking after your mum, she loved to join in all the activities and celebrations. The home is very proud of the care we deliver to all our residents. She is greatly missed and so are you both.
The best facility that I cold have wished for my aunt to spend the later part of her life in. A very relaxed and stimulating atmosphere for the residents to be surrounded by and part of.
Thank you for submitting a review about our home, we are very proud of our staff who ensure our residents are well cared for and supported throughout their stay.
He is so sorry he has to leave.
God bless all in the home.
Thank you for your review, we are very proud of our staff and seeing that the residents are happy with a smile on their face and listening to their laughter is a joy.
From day one, Mum has been cared for with compassion and dignity. The first few months were hard for Mum to adjust to life at Tynwald but the staff have all been amazing, thoughtful and kind at all times.
Thank you so much for your review and kind words, it's a pleasure to care for your mother. We are very proud of all our staff who provide care and support to all our residents.
An amazing home which enables residents to have personal care that meets all their needs and that of their families. Welcoming to all and encouraged to maintain independence in what they can. Food and entertainment are excellent. All staff are kind and caring with superb interaction with residents. Would highly recommend.
Thank you for your review we are very proud of our home, it's a pleasure having your relative living at the home.
Found staff excellent.
Found food excellent.
Found accommodation excellent.
Thank you Mr P for your review, we look forward to seeing you soon.
I would like to thank all the staff at Tynwald, who over the last 11-months has done the most incredible job keeping all the residents safe, happy, stimulated and cared for. During this period when only they could be in the home, they have not only done their day job, but they have been the entertainment committee as well! I can't thank everyone enough. If my dear mother wasn't in Tynwald during this time, I'm really not sure how we would have survived.
Thank you for your review; we are all looking forward to seeing families in the near future.
It is like home - the staff are happy, cheerful and always willing to go the extra mile for the residents.
Christmas decorations have been put up in the home as well as in the beautiful garden. She couldn't be ina better place (other than in her own home of course).
Thank you for your review, your words mean so much to the staff during this especially difficult time we're all experiencing. Hoping to all be reconnected in the near future. We continue to keep everyone safe and well.
Excellent care both physically and mentally.
Thank you for your review, we will continue to keep you up to date with any changes.
Tynwald is excellent in every category, and I am very happy this she is a resident there. Staff are friendly and helpful, and it's a pleasure to visit.
Thank you for your review we will continue to keep you up to date with any changes.
My mum has always been treated kindly and in a dignified manner. The staff have been excellent in understanding her personality/likes/dislikes and acted accordingly. I have been contacted immediately should there be any health issues or misunderstandings. MY mum sometimes struggles with food choices but is always offered an alternative. I would definitely recommend and thank you during Covid-19.
Excellent quality care is given to the residents from the management, healthcare, nutrition, activities and cleanliness.
Tynwald Residential Home is highly recommended.
End of life care was loving and dignified.
I would not hesitate to recommend Tynwald Residential Home.
My mother has been a resident at Tynwald since March 2016. Mum struggles to walk but is perfectly alert, so finding a care home with the right atmosphere was crucial to her daily wellbeing. Tynwald is a friendly, warm caring place staffed and run by people with the same qualities. They have gone out of their way to make mum happy, altering her bed and room layout to suit her. Her room is filled with her craftwork, books and all the things she enjoys. Her main carer is an empathic, generous, kind and funny person who has become a good friend. If you could clone her the staffing problem in care work would be solved!
Tynwald management and staff really know their residents. The CQC checks and measures cannot measure an atmosphere, or a warm feeling, or a kind word in the night. They don’t give points for empathy. I am a former Ambulancewoman who has seen bad homes. Tynwald is at the opposite end of the spectrum. It is mum’s home and she (and we) are so happy we found it.
