Tynwald management and staff really know their residents. The CQC checks and measures cannot measure an atmosphere, or a warm feeling, or a kind word in the night. They don’t give points for empathy. I am a former Ambulancewoman who has seen bad homes. Tynwald is at the opposite end of the spectrum. It is mum’s home and she (and we) are so happy we found it.
The care home itself is what I would consider as homely, which is exactly what we were looking for. If the time should come, I wouldn't mind residing there myself. The residents have some form of entertainment nearly every afternoon and are encouraged to join in. All in all, I don't think we could have found a better care home for my aunt to reside in. We have peace of mind and can rest assured that she is well looked after in her 99th year.
