My mum came to Fort Horsted, and she was only here for a weekend. The care that the staff showed was amazing—good person-centred care, dignity, and respect. My mum had to be taken to hospital due to her being unwell. They kept me informed and made my mum comfortable and reassured her on her return.

All staff played an amazing part, my mum continues to be there and am very impressed so far.

My dad is in the home he has been for a year we have had some teething issues and some complaints but feel once voiced they have been sorted to the best of their ability. I do think my dad's room can look dirty and I know multiple people have voiced this. The staff are what make this place amazing they couldn't do enough for my dad and for us when we are here.

Thank you so much for writing your review and I am sorry to read that you feel that your Dad's room can appear dirty. I will certainly look into this issue without delay as this is not the standard that we pride ourselves on. I am glad the staffing team make the overall experience good for you and your Dad.

Given my loved one's immobility everything seems to be going pretty well for him. It would be nice for him to get out of the room more often but I understand the difficulties. He needs more physio care to get him up and about.

My mother was a resident at fort horsted for 20 months, we transferred her to Fort Horsted from a care home once she required nursing care. As a nurse my criteria for looking at a home for my mother was how I felt when I first visited the home to look round, whether they listened to me and what I feel my mothers needs were and, whether the home smelt clean. The staff listened to what I thought my mother required and throughout her stay I was always welcome to talk to the staff at anytime.
When visiting mum I always saw good interaction from staff to my mum, not always easy when the client has severe dementia. Various staff would comment at separate times that mum felt like a mother and that was the respect I saw my mum afforded by the staff.

I am so happy that my mum was content and happy with her stay in Fort Horsted to the end of her days.

My mum lived in the home for a year. She was receiving palliative care and was bedbound. The staff were excellent. My mum, myself and family were all welcomed and cared for in all situations. During her last days my mum was so closely monitored and, as always, kept her dignity. She was clean and extremely comfortable too. The staff also looked after me and my sister during this difficult time and reassured us that Mum was in no pain or discomfort. We can not thank the staff enough for everything they did for Mum and the family too. Thank you. Thank you.

My sister arrived at Fort Horsted after a traumatic and lengthy time in hospital. She has now been in the home for two years. I cannot thank the staff enough for all their kindness and care and for providing a calm and caring environment. Whenever we visit there is always a friendly greeting and welcome, and my sister is well cared for. Her being in Fort Horsted has taken away the stress and worry for me in knowing she is safe and being looked after.

When I first entered the home, I wasn't particularly happy with the initial look of her room. It has 2 beds in it and was very dated. However, I was reassured that it would be highly unlikely mum would have to share the room. As time went by, I realised that the care mum has been receiving had been so wonderful and kind it doesn't matter about the decor! (the home is actually in the process of redecoration) All the staff are very friendly and caring, always asking how I am as well as caring for my mum. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

My father has been at Fort Horsted since the 1st of June 2024. He gets the very best treatment and care. All the staff with no exceptions are caring, and professional and all go the extra mile to look after my 93-year-old father who has Parkinson. The care doesn't stop there it continues to myself and mother and we are truly thankful in this difficult time.

I have often visited my friend at this place. She is always clean and is always well cared for. The staff are always polite even though my friend can be very unpleasant. Mum died 6th April 2023, she was well cared for in her last days of life and kept out of pain. Would recommend this home to anyone, such friendly, helpful staff and kept informed at all times. Chose this home after another closed and Dad was here in 2016, nothing has changed, still very good. Daughter of deceased mother, rest in peace, thanks.

Our nan has been in Fort Horsted Nursing Home for a couple of years now and we couldn't thank the staff enough for the care she receives. We are always welcomed with a smile. Nothing makes us happier than when we walk in to see her sitting in the lounge smiling away and having a laugh with the staff. It has a very homely feel and the staff work together brilliantly! Our nan is quite a character, to say the least, and they have just accepted her for who she is! Thank you everyone at Fort Hortsted.

Despite it's seclusion and unknown presence I have found this home to be a breath of fresh air. The staff are genuine and when visiting they take the time to ask after me whilst feeding back about how my father is. I have heard them caring for other residents and know they apply their attention to detail across the board. I feel assured that my father is in the right place and receiving the right level of care.

It was a very hard decision to put my dad into a care home, however even on being shown around I felt that this was a place we could call home for him (unlike other care homes). Dads needs are complex and he is bed ridden with dementia and renal failure, but the staff always treat him with dignity, respect, fondness and genuine care. Dad has been at Fort Horsted now for ten months and as a family we could not have asked for a better place for him to live. The staff are friendly, kind, mindful and supportive. They always seem to make time even if it is to help us get a cup of tea for ourselves. They all seems to be truly genuine and compassionate about the residents. Fort Horsted really do put the care into care home. Thank you with all sincerity, for what you do.
