Rooted in the Christian faith, life at Framland supports residents to live fulfilled lives in their later years. They provide excellent, personalised care which supports residents to flourish in older age.

Framland has an active social life in which residents can take part, or follow their own pursuits. They appreciate that each resident has their own individual interests, hobbies and pastimes, and they endeavour to support residents to maintain this important part of their lives. Residents are encouraged to lead the lifestyle that they choose, doing as much or as little as they want - residents can simply choose to put their feet up with a daily paper or a good book from the County Library which visits every month, or from the home’s own collection.

Their weekly programme includes activities such as quizzes, board games, baking, gentle gardening, music and movement exercises, Wii Fit, and craft groups. The home also benefits from visits by local Christian choirs from time to time. Trips out to coffee shops, garden centres, picnics and drives in the countryside are arranged for residents from time to time. A hairdresser visits once a week. A team of Friends of the Home support and befriend the residents by coming to see them on a weekly basis.

Their Christian background is at the heart of both their values and their actions. At Framland they try to create a community where Christian worship, prayer and support are a core part of daily life. They have daily devotions, Sunday and mid-week services, and a monthly communion service. They encourage local churches to arrange transport for residents who are able to attend.

Weekly Charges per Person

  • Self-Funded Residential Care: £1464 – £1660
  • Self-Funded Residential Dementia Care: £1805 – £1837
  • RESPITE Self-Funded Residential Care: £1552 – £1760
  • RESPITE Self-Funded Residential Dementia Care: £1914 – £1948

Our fees are charged per person, per week. We do not require a deposit and we do not require a guarantor. This will include the provision of personal care, food and drink, heating, lighting, equipment, laundry, insurance of personal items, and in-house activities.


These fees are valid between 1st April 2025 and 31st March 2026 and are reviewed annually. The Registered Manager will assess you prior to admission to determine the level of care provision required. During a stay at Framland, fees can change if the level of care you need increases or if there is a change in the law which significantly impacts the cost of your care. You will be given one month’s notice of any changes in fees.


We have three levels of care provision at Framland:
• Basic residential care: this is where the assessed needs are relatively uncomplicated and where mechanical or technical assistance is rarely needed.
• Higher dependency: this is where the assessed needs are complex and where mechanical or technical assistance is intermittently needed.
• Enhanced care: this is where assessed needs are highly complex and where mechanical or technical assistance is frequently needed. We charge for dementia care at this rate.


If you intend to pay your own fees, you are expected to have liquid funds to meet the home's fees for a minimum of two years. If you have any queries about paying for your care feel free to contact the managers to discuss this.

I feel that a care home is dependent on the actions and behaviour of the manager. This care home now has a manager very faithful to God and all her actions are proof of that relationship. The ethos of love is tangible as one walks about the building. The staff are calm and go that extra bit to make
life as nice as it can be for the residents. Every effort is made to encourage residents to join in things that they would say they enjoyed doing although especially for those with dementia this is changeable. Singing is encouraged since everyone joins in, even if only to listen. Very few people choose to end their days in a care home, but this one provides the very best possible when they can't stay in their own homes.

Our visits are always professionally handled and carried out with the minimum of fuss. Staff are polite, very helpful and keen for us to have the best experience when we visit. My mother is very well cared for and, although she does maintain that she is often bored, I do appreciate that her dementia
interferes with longer term memories of what she has been doing! Staff take the trouble to sit with her and go through her folder of family photographs and encourage her to read her People’s Friend and Oxford Mail. One suggestion we have made is that she can be directed more to plan an evening’s viewing on the TV in her room. She always liked television and there are numerous programmes like The Repair Shop or Strictly which do not make demands of remembering who the characters are or following a drama plot. Her room is always neat and tidy and she is helped to maintain a good sense of dress and overall presentation - she was always smartly dressed.

The care home is always very friendly to work and staff are always kind and helpful.
My questions are always answered but slow with emails. Shift work and logging in is simple and easy to use making coming into work easier.

My mother's incontinence problems have been treated with care, professionalism, tact and love by the staff at Framland. They took care to keep me informed, which allowed me to take part in her care as I wish to do. My mother is treated well and she is encouraged to be the woman she is despite her health
problems.

Care and compassion permeate this home. Excellent management and interaction with the residents relatives. During the recent pandemic, they remained covid free, but abo made huge efforts for relatives to still connect with their loved ones. I cannot recommend this care home enough. Mum has been there

The Framland Home is one of the most outstanding homes I have known. The care the family living at Framland receive is excellent and the staff team is of a very high standard, and is led by a really good manager. The atmosphere of the home is very welcoming and warm and the staff are always kind and
thorough and give a standard of care that is first class. They take a real interest in each family member and are always happy to see visitors. The home is spotlessly clean, the food is first class and an ideal environment for all who live there. The home puts on an excellent variety of activities for those who live at Framland and as a Christian home gives the most helpful spiritual support as well. They really care for the whole person in a most gentle and compassionate manner. I cannot speak so highly of it and should I need such care myself, I would gladly live there.

This is a very caring home with wonderful staff who enjoy their roles.
Mum is always commenting on how looked after she is and how happy and comfortable she is there.
Food is excellent and the building is very secure without it feeling like a prison. The building is excellently maintained and I strongly
recommend this care home to anyone thinking about living here.

My Nana is the happiest she’s ever been in this lovely home. She says she is treated better than the queen and couldn’t get any better. It is a kind, friendly and warm environment with a lovely Christian focus. The staff are always so welcoming and helpful.

Maraya

Maraya Rabuka

Job Title: Care Manager Joined: 2025

Maraya left Fiji in 2000 to join the British Army as a chef at 19, straight after completing sixth form. She served for five years with the Royal Army Dental Corps as a dental nurse and then supported her family during her husband's postings to Germany and Canada.


Maraya started her journey in the health & social care sector as a night carer in 2015, working her way up to the role of senior carer and then team leader. She then became a deputy and finally a registered home manager, working first in a new-build residential and dementia care setting and then in a nursing home.


A member of her local church, Maraya enjoys attending Bible studies and services and is always happy to help out with events. Outside of work, she also enjoys supporting her boys with their rugby, playing netball, gardening, reading, and meeting new friends.

Dave

Dave Alderson

Job Title: ACE Joined: 2021

‘Dave is a proud Yorkshire man who travelled the world but found Jesus in Norwich at a Billy Graham event. Having started his working life as an artist and graphic designer, he was called into Christian ministry at the age of 21. Roles he has taken on have included Christian Youth Work with YFC, Youth Pastor & Evangelist, Drug & Alcohol treatment worker, Youth Advisor and Toilet-roll Maker. Dave describes himself as a genuinely shy man who God put on the frontline of service.

As our Activities & Community Engagement (ACE) Facilitator at Framland, Dave oversees the programme of activities, which includes managing the team of volunteers. He loves working with older people, especially hearing the stories of the amazing lives they have lived.

By his own admission he is someone you will not find on a sports field but rather in the warmth, playing his guitar or reading a book.

A proud father of four and grandfather of 10, he, together with his wife, enjoys the adventure of all that life and world has to reveal.’

Miriam

Miriam Fisher

Job Title: Administrator Joined: 2019

Miriam became a committed Christian as a teenager and has subsequently served her local church, including working as an administrator for a church in Cardiff.
Since moving into the area, she has supported the work of Framland and attended their special events, including playing the cello for their Christmas services and at the annual garden party. She loves being part of the Framland staff team, helping to provide a caring and compassionate home for the family members.
Outside of work, she enjoys cooking and baking, and spending time with her family.
