My mother-in-law, who is living with dementia, receives exceptional care at Middlefields House. The staff are consistently kind, compassionate, and attentive, always treating her with dignity and respect. We have been impressed not only by the quality of care but also by the genuine warmth and kindness shown by everyone in the home.

Neither my wife nor I are religious people, but faith is very important to our mother-in-law and has been a significant part of her life. We greatly value the Christian ethos of the home and the way it enables her to continue practising and engaging with her faith in a meaningful way.

We have a good understanding of what high-quality care looks like. We know when a service feels right, and Middlefields House consistently gives us that confidence. The team are always happy to take the time to speak with us, answer questions, and keep us informed.

There are qualities that make a care home good and qualities that make it exceptional. I am wary about being too free with superlatives as most people are unlikely to be convinced by them and may wonder what motive really lies behind them. But Middlefields House truly is exceptional. The qualities of highly professional care, safety and security are givens here, as are many other essential features such as cleanliness, appetising nourishing food, cheery light rooms and spacious, well-kept gardens. Middlefields House has all of these. But is has something else too that lifts it above, way above what would be considered perfectly acceptable. This surely has to do with the deeply held Christian ethos that pervades everything that happens and is achieved here, plain for everyone to see whether they are people of faith or not. In practice it comes down to love for the people who are being cared for. There is nothing contrived about this. It is just there.

The care/support for her complex needs has been beyond reproach from the care manager, business manager to the activities facilitator and all the care staff. They all showed love and a caring attitude whether administering personal care to providing refreshments to discussing the organising & filments to their requirements.

David has been in Luff House for the last two years and I have no complaints. Any queries or additional assistance I might have are dealt with immediately. Well done, Luff House.

She has adjusted amazingly quickly to her new way of life, benefitting from all the kindness and care and stimulating activities each day, as well as the spiritual input. We are truly thankful as a family that mum is being cared for in this loving environment that is enabling her to flourish in areas that she enjoys.

The Milward care home really cares :-) The staff are great; the atmosphere is peaceful and home like. There is so much for the services users to do or nothing at all, if they don't feel up to it on that day. My friend and fellow Christian sister, was aged 80 and living on her own before she entered Milward House, although our church were very supportive of her; having her be amongst us 6 days a week, for lunch, dinner and Christian activities, sadly the rest of the time she was lonely; having been someone who had always been around people all her life. Milward House has given her back her life to the full and in many ways dignity. She doesn't have to worry about managing a home with the help of her carers and the church but can simply enjoy the winter season of her life without the cares of loneliness; the responsibility of managing a home and we the church are overjoyed that she is resting, peaceful and most of all safe. It's so very important for those who can't care for themselves.

Mum had a period of respite care and then a six week trial period before becoming a permanent resident, all the staff at Emmaus House have gone above and beyond expectations to help Mum feel welcome and settled. The care staff are very compassionate and caring, the food is excellent, all managers and support staff are 'visible' and available to help with any queries, specific 'shout out' to the brilliant handyman who sorted out Mum's tv!

I am delighted with the way my dear cousin Mary is being looked after in Shottermill House. Apart from the size of the room, I couldn't ask for more. With thanks, Evan.

My Mum moved into Emmaus House in Harrogate in April 2026. She has settled in well & that is down to how welcoming all the staff have been towards her. The care they give her is amazing. She now takes part in the daily activities and has made friends which is lovely to hear. She has a lovely room with all her familiar things round her. A plus side is that we have Valley Gardens so close so we can take her out. Visitors are always made to feel very welcome & staff are approachable if you need to speak to them. Thank you for everything you do.

Millward House is a friendly house with caring staff. My friends room is bright and cheerful with a pleasant view of the garden. The staff are approachable to ask questions when necessary. The home is always clean.

There is a very happy and supportive atmosphere in the lounge. I have heard several tales of residents giggling together as they share common experiences in their new lives together.

They keep in touch well with relatives including an online regular meeting which is very informative and really helps relatives keep in touch with what is happening in the home.

Every family member and friend who has visited mum has also remarked on the caring atmosphere. Our district nurses that attend mum also believe it to be the most loving and caring home in the vicinity. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Middlefields House.

The welcome we both received, the tender loving care which was shown to her, the spiritual input gently ministered during her stay enabled me, for all my emotional reactions to Helen having to be there , to entrust my wife of 62 years to the Carers I came to regard as my extended family.

I was able to contact any of the administrative staff at any time, and the Lead Carers would answer any questions I felt the need to ask..

I would recommend Finborough Court Care Home to anyone seeking such a place for their loved ones.

My Mum also needed to move into a Care Home in February 2026, so it was an easy decision to move her into Finborough Court from the adjoining flats. Mum is now benefiting from the care, companionship and Christian ethos.

All staff were welcoming Home was clean and not 'smelly'. Residents being entertained by musician in main lounge. Visited a resident in lounge and also one in her room.

I am unhappy that PFS takes in people who are in many cases unconverted, but simply have an 'interest; in Christian things. Pilgrims was founded years ago to be in born again believers and I feel it was a retrograde step when they lowered this standard.

My husband has just returned from a long weekend respite. He enjoyed his time there and would be happy to go again. The residents were friendly and had remembered us from when we went for lunch to introduce my husband to the place before staying. The staff were caring and professional and obviously wanted the best for the residents, treating them with dignity and patience. I was impressed by how the staff worked as a team. There is a strong Christian ethos with a family atmosphere. The large garden is a benefit, and the large lounge is airy and comfortable. The manager was helpful and accommodating, especially when we had to change our booking. I can definitely recommend Framland.

My Mum who is in her 80's has been a resident at Milward House for a few years now. She had a private flat for a few years then, when that wasn't suiting her needs, she moved into the main care home. She has been very happy at Milward House since her arrival. Her dementia means she's needing more and more care and attention these days, the staff have been fantastic throughout. Highly recommended.
