My Mum who is in her 80's has been a resident at Milward House for a few years now. She had a private flat for a few years then, when that wasn't suiting her needs, she moved into the main care home. She has been very happy at Milward House since her arrival. Her dementia means she's needing more and more care and attention these days, the staff have been fantastic throughout. Highly recommended.

The facilities are also outstanding. Always very clean, tidy and fresh. There are plenty of activities for residents and all seem happy and well cared for.

Milward House has looked after my relative with exemplary care. She has always been a strong willed lady, and had enjoyed independence until her mid-nineties. However, after a fall and then a stroke, we chose Milward because of the very friendly atmosphere, and it's Christian ethos, which chimed with her deeply-held faith. Failing sight, hearing, speech and comprehension meant that she became increasingly difficult. The staff were extraordinary in their love, patience, tolerance and care, particularly over the last year. This was especially important to her family since we all live a considerable distance from Milward, making visits less frequent than we would have liked. We, therefore, had to rely completely on the home to be her day to day family. Thank you, Sid, and all your staff.

We acted as professional attorneys for a lady who had the pleasure of spending her last few years at Milward House. The home was absolutely perfect for her allowing her to live in a kind and friendly atmosphere whilst providing her with the fellowship and opportunity to worship which was of great importance to her. The staff were always on hand to deal with requests quickly and communicated with us well and clearly. We felt that the staff were very attuned to the lady's needs (even when she was less able to communicate them herself) which was very reassuring for us (not being family ourselves). All the staff treat the residents with such a level of care and respect and it was a pleasure working with them.

I am delighted to have found this very caring care home for my mum. From the first day of moving in, the management and carers have always taken the time to make mum feel happy, active and safe in her world that has become more and more confusing with her increasing dementia. As a religiously based care home, I have come to realise through her time at Milward House, how important mum's faith is to her. It is clear that ethos engenders fellowship and a wonderful sense of community spirit and mutual respect between the residents which is matched and complemented by the management and staff. Milward House has become mum's home and thank you so much for the care you provide and how you have made that happen.

My mum was here for around four years after she had been diagnosed with dementia and was unable to look after herself. I was very pleased with the level of care she received. The staff were always welcoming and the carers were very kind, considerate and compassionate. The home itself was clean and it was a happy place. There was a strong Christian ethos and I felt reassured that my mum was being looked after and her wishes were coming first.

Since March 2025 when my mother moved Milward House, my family and I have been struck by the commitment, warmth and trustworthiness of all the staff. Although the changing state of my mother's health is hard to see, I am comforted by the happy atmosphere and the team spirit that support residents and families alike. Daily activities are varied, such as art, music, baking, visits from the local primary school and quizzes of all kinds. The daily acts of worship are led with great sincerity and everyone is encouraged to contribute. My mother appreciates very much all the effort that the staff go to for her, and especially for the respect that is shown when personal care is required. I am grateful for all the kindness and expertise that staff bring to my mother's life on a daily basis.

Finally, there is little feedback on a resident's health i.e. are they in bed, have they been seen by a doctor?

My relative spent her last 18 months in Milward and her care was good. The home has a strongly Christian ethos and a loving atmosphere. The staff were friendly and kind. There was a good timetable of activities for residents who wanted to be involved.

There is good communication from staff to residents wider family & I am always welcomed when I visit.

I am very happy that I can rest assured that Mum is being well looked after and loved by the staff at Milward. I feel we, as a family, are so fortunate to have Mum in such a great home. Thank you to all at Milward for going over and above to look after Mum and ensuring she is well looked after, happy and loved.

The nearest flushing toilet to my room was up a short flight of stairs which I did not want to attempt in the middle of the night! However the toilet facilities on the ground floor were plentiful and easy to access.

My Aunt has been very contented at Milward House especially as it is a Christian home with very caring and professional staff. She always speaks highly of the staff which is a good recommendation from some one retired from healthcare. Whenever l have visited l have noticed what a happy atmosphere, with many activities for the residents to join in if they wish. It is far better than any l have visited in the past.

Mum spent her last five years at Milward House. Every staff member I met during that time were very professional and so caring. This was a great comfort as I live a long distance away. The home is in a lovely area with a nice park just up the road. I strongly recommend this place.

My brother was admitted to Milward House in April 2024 suffering from dementia. The staff and volunteers have looked after him so well and he is included in all the day-to-day activities. He is very happy and is treated with kindness and respect and has a good relationship with all the staff despite the challenges of his condition. I would certainly highly recommend this home.
