Fairdene Lodge Care Home has a warm and stimulating atmosphere. The staff are engaging and kind. The extracurricular stuff they have for music and a church service seems very important and nourishing to residents. I'm very happy my dad is being looked after so well. Thank you.

My uncle has been a resident for just over a year now...I am so pleased and happy to have found Fairdene Lodge to care for him. I cannot praise them enough, he is happy...I always look forward to visiting him for a lovely cup of tea and biscuits sitting in lovely chairs looking out to the garden.

Overall Experience

Our sister has been in their first-class care since last year, and she has never looked so well; they made us all so welcome. From the management to the cleaners, they are all exceptional. The home is immaculate, the food amazing, and we are kept informed of any issues when they happen. They provide activities if the residents wish to participate, and our sister loves the seafront tuk-tuk rides. The gardens are beautiful, and the newly extended conservatory lounge just finishes it off. We could not be happier that our sister is not only in such a beautiful home but, more importantly, being so well looked after. It is a huge relief for all of us as a family. 10/10.

My Mum has Lewy Body Dementia and moved into Fairdene Lodge in July 2021. The home is always clean and tidy with plenty of activities for the resisdents to take part in and the garden is an amazing space. The staff are very welcoming and always have time for us when we visit regularly. They treat all the residents with compassion and respect and provide a very high standard of care.

Fairdene Lodge is a very warm, loving and caring home.

Overall Experience

Fairdene Lodge have been exceptional in looking after Mum and Dad who both have severe dementia/Alzheimers. The staff are, without exception, friendly, attentive and caring and they always have a smile on their face. When we made the difficult decision to move Mum and Dad into a care home we looked at several places and Fairdene was by far the best and we are so thankful that the staff and management have made the process so much easier and have welcomed Mum and Dad into the community with open arms. The facilities are excellent - they have a lovely room together and the place is always clean, tidy, fresh and very homely. There are always activities and these keep the residents stimulated and smiling. Mum had to go into hospital recently and the management went above and beyond to get her back to Fairdene as quickly as possible and she was so pleased to return. We are made to feel very welcome on our weekly visits and nothing is too much trouble. Very highly recommended.

My aunt has been in Fairdene for 3 years. The accommodation is excellent, well looked after and clean. The furniture and nick-nacks are updated regularly. Building maintenance and decorating is first class. Every member of staff is caring, and supportive and treats each resident as an individual with respect, kindness, empathy and understanding. All residents are referred to by name and their likes, dislikes, health issues and individual preferences are known to staff. Regular staff meetings happen. My aunt is always well presented, wearing what she loves - brightly coloured clean clothes. Extra attention paid to residents' hair, feet and nails increase general well-being. Social media communication means I am totally confident my aunt is well looked after and supported. There are many interesting and stimulating activities daily and outdoor events. All residents are happy and laugh greatly, as seen on Facebook and witnessed on visits. I could not imagine a better home with a very well used garden.

Overall Experience

Fairdene Lodge Care Home and its staff have my true respect and gratitude, they are exceptional! My mother has severe Alzheimer's and when she had to move to Fairdene Lodge it was during lockdown rules for Covid. This was of course a traumatic time for my mother and ourselves and without the care and consideration of the staff, who would do anything to help at any time, it could have been even worse. They look after her with kindness, understanding and consideration, I could never thank them enough for. Mum has now been there for one and a half years and her big, beaming smile is plain to see in the numerous updates I see of her. Fairdene Lodge truly puts the residents in their every thought, they plan stimulating events for each day to keep the minds engaged and fun events to create those smiles, you only have to look at their social media pages to see just a few of the multitude of differing events they create and the hard work they do. Then you add the amazing garden/structures/decor all to help the residents, 10/10.

My mother-in-law has always been looked after very well. They have so many activities going on all the time. Whenever you go into the care home, all the residents are together joining in if they want to. Lots of smiles, laughing and dancing. Always someone to talk to if you need to know anything. A very bright, clean, homely environment. Always a pleasure to visit.

Excellent care home. I looked at most in Brighton for my mum, and came away feeling very disheartened with most, then luckily walked into Fairdene Lodge, greeted me and was so friendly and made the whole experience an enjoyable one, all the staff are so lovely. I was amazed how beautifully clean it was, and the room they showed me was amazing (that my mum moved into 3 weeks later) it’s as good as a hotel beautifully decorated. The garden was a big thing for me as it’s just wonderful. It’s a warm and friendly home, which offers excellent care. My mum has been there over 2 years now and had made some great friendships with residents and staff. Very happy indeed knowing mum is happy and being well cared for.

Overall Experience

My mother was admitted in January this year, everything has been fantastic, the staff are very welcoming, residents all seem happy and entertained day-to-day. I was worried about how my mum would settle but Fairdene assured me they have a "buddy-up" system so when a new resident joins, they assign a member of staff to them for however long is needed. They are always going above and beyond, they have a charity with people who take the residents out around Brighton and hove seafront and I was allowed to go on the bike with my mum, it was such a lovely experience and a memory I will treasure. Also, the food is incredible! They have a very friendly chef and he cooks everything homemade, I have been allowed to come for lunch on more than 2 occasions now, it's great. I highly recommend Fairdene Lodge to anyone who is looking for dementia care, my mum can enjoy her life with excellent care, food and entertainment! Fantastic!

Review from Rosie S (Goddaughter of Resident) published on 23 October 2019 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Fairdene Lodge and its staff are absolutely brilliant! My godmother is a resident with some challenging issues related to Alzheimer’s and they have shown nothing but outstanding care for her -physical, mental and social- since she first arrived there with very challenging problems, several years ago now. Through their care, kindness, persistence and humour (she still has moments where she is very witty) she calmed and settled down and now thinks she lives in a hotel! But in many ways, it is like a hotel. Rooms are beautiful, food extremely good and the refurb has made it a beautiful place. I was born and brought up in the north and moved back up to the Lake District to live my life up here and nearer to my daughter and family, but I know she is in fantastically good hands. I was asked recently what she would really like and I said cat visits! No sooner said than done! Thank you so, so much for all you do in every way. Your care and activities are outstanding!

We looked at a number of homes in the vicinity and was losing the faith until we walked into Fairdene. The staff were welcoming, it was warm and spotlessly clean and to top it all had this great atmosphere. My dad settled straight away and we visited him regularly he had a lovely room that I would consider hotel standard, it had a huge wall hung TV. We were lucky to get the only available room at the time. He was frail at first but the staff team were great, his appetite was good and he just really enjoyed daily life and the activities especially the wonderful 'village' that has been created in the garden with a proper functioning tea room and sweet shop. We used to actually look forward to spending time with dad in this delightful garden. He was well cared for and I can honestly say he did have a good life, much better than being on his own in his flat. We are truly grateful to the team for looking after dad so well in such a beautiful home.
