Grosvenor Lodge in Brighton caters for older people, those living with dementia and mental health problems including those detained under the Mental Health Act.

The home aims to offer skilled care to treat all people who live, work and visit the home with respect at all times.

Staff encourage the right of independence of all residents, while also looking after their best interest to a more fulfilling life under care.

They also respect individual requirements for privacy at all times and treat all information relating to residents in a confidential manner.

The home recognises the individual need for personal fulfilment and offer individualised programmes of activity to meet the needs of residents.

At Grosvenor Lodge you can relax in the multiple lounges with a choice to listen to music, watch TV or sit quietly reading or reminiscing with family. There is a large garden to the rear which is well tended and allows the residents to enjoy the weather when possible with garden parties held for special events.

All nutritious meals are prepared on-site with any dietary needs taken into consideration.

I looked at a lot of homes before I settled on Grosvenor Lodge and I haven't been disappointed. The place is full of life - everyone is so friendly and it feels homely and not institutional at all. The staff are kind, caring and attentive, the activities are brilliant and the food is home-cooked and
lovely. Whilst there is a very welcoming and informal approach it is supported by high professional standards and excellent communication between staff - it doesn't matter who answers the door, they know where my mum is and how she's doing. If I mention in passing that I'm worried about her health, by the time I've got to the office to make it official, they've already arranged a doctor's appointment. They have gone above and beyond to settle my mum in, even painting one of her walls bright pink. Nothing is too much trouble. It has been a tough old time and I feel personally supported. I can't thank the team at Grosvenor Lodge enough.

I chose this home for my mum as I was really impressed wth the aesthetics and bright appearance of the home. Since being there (1 year) I have been delighted with the care and attention of the staff who look after her. They are always cheerful and welcoming and it seems to be a lovely environment for
the residents with lots of activities and celebrations well planned ie Christmas, Mother's Day & Valentines.

The staff at Grosvenor Lodge took fantastic care of my husband while he was with them with complex health issues. He was well supported from the start. It is a very warm and caring atmosphere with lots of activities on offer, consistent staff you get to know and trust. The food is home cooked and varied
and healthy. Couldn't have asked for a better place. They all went above and beyond. No time spared to feel welcome and listened to. Thank you.

It was a very difficult decision for our family to place my mother into a care home but unfortunately, like many people experiencing Alzheimer's became too difficult for us to give her the care she really needed. It turned into the best decision we made because we have total peace of mind that she is
safe and cared for by the home. It means that we can spend quality time with our mother now instead of the stressful situations we were dealing with. The home is really lovely, rooms are well kept, entertainment is really fun for the residents, staff and management are friendly and communicate well with us. Overall we are very happy with the care she receives under quite difficult circumstances due to the illness.

My Dad has now been here three and a half years and throughout this time he has always felt comfortable with all his needs met. My mother is resident and has been for the past 4-5 years. My father has also been resident. Our experience with my parents' treatment has been wonderful. The staff are so caring at all times, treating them with dignity, keeping them entertained and most importantly my parents were always clean and
fresh.
We are kept updated with any health problems that may occur by the management team. So that familiarity and bonding is built up with residents, generally my parents are allocated their own carer to wash and dress them each day. The carer then builds trust and friendship, which develops over months and years having the same carer.

My wife entered Grosvenor Lodge in May 2022. Her Alzheimer's was causing memory problems with the addition of bouts of aggression and incontinence. Inevitably, the memory continues to deteriorate, but with the excellent care provided the aggression has largely been brought under control with added medication
when needed. I have the highest regard of the management and staff at Grosvenor Lodge. The care and attention is evident at all times. This year, 2023, has seen a complete refurbishment with fresh paintwork, new flooring etc.

As with most people, I was full of mixed feelings about delivering my mum into the care of others. I shouldn't have. My mum's care has been first-class all the way. I'm full of gratitude for the consistent professionalism and especially the level of care from the whole team. My mum has actually thrived
in the Grosvenor Lodge, and I probably see her smile and laugh more now than in a long time. The care given has ensured she has kept her independence and is now a person who enjoys joining in with games and activities. Her needs are met in all ways, and I'm always grateful to the whole team.

Our relative has Dementia, and it was with a sad heart they had to be placed in a care home. A big thank you to the staff of Grosvenor Lodge for treating him with dignity and caring for him so well, which has made us feel happier with this decision knowing his needs are met, and he is safe in a happy
environment. (They really do have to understand the ups and downs of dementia to be able to deliver this level of care!).
He is happy with his spacious and bright room and gets on very well with the staff, who know that he loves biscuits with his numerous cups of tea!

Mum has been at Grosvenor Lodge for three and a half years now. Each and every member of staff are so dedicated, kind and caring and I honestly feel content and happy knowing that my mum is being loved and cared for by people who have a real understanding of Alzheimer's. My wife has been a resident in Grosvenor Lodge since July 2018. She is now in advanced stage of dementia and has been treated and shown every kindness and care since she arrived at the home.
I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and management of the home who have been operating under extreme pressure
for the last couple of years due to the pandemic.
