Visiting

  • Tenby House warmly welcomes visits from family and friends, as they play a vital role in the well-being of the residents. To ensure a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for everyone, Tenby kindly ask visitors to follow the guidelines below:

    Visiting Hours
The home is open for visitors daily between 9:00am and 8:00pm. Tenby encourages visits during these times to allow residents to maintain a calm and consistent routine.

    Protected Mealtimes
To support Tenby's residents' nutrition, dignity, and concentration during meals, the home observes protected mealtimes as follows:

    Breakfast: 8:00am – 9:00am

    Lunch: 12:30pm – 1:30pm

    Supper: 5:00pm – 6:00pm

During these periods, Tenby kindly asks that visits are avoided unless previously arranged or if a visitor is supporting their loved one with eating. This quiet time allows residents to focus on their meals without interruption and helps staff provide essential support.

    Booking a Visit
While not always required, Tenby recommends booking visits in advance during busier times to ensure privacy and availability of communal areas.

    Health and Safety
Tenby asks that visits be postponed if visitors feel unwell or have been in contact with someone who is unwell. This helps Tenby protect the health of all residents.

Having come here I have a great deal of time to think and I realise how lucky I am to now live here, you couldn't ask for more.
Everything is more than anyone could hope for. It's five star, the best.
But I still would like to go home.
Finally, it's the wonderful staff, and now my friend, that makes
it the very, very best.

I found the staff very friendly, cheerful and welcoming each time I visited Tenby House. They have shown themselves to be dedicated and respectful and are always on hand to help the residents in their care. They were very mindful of safety and security and at the same time tried to make daily life as
fulfilling as possible.
On one visit mum was enjoying an organised activity with a happy guinea pig on her lap. Although only on temporary respite care, Mum was always readily greeted by members of staff and accommodated with other residents for meals to ensure she wasn't sitting alone. Mum was treated with dignity, from tea in china cups, large slices of cake to varnished nails. The facilities were extremely good, everything well organised and I felt mum received very good care.

I have to say the care and attention my father has received at Tenby House has been of the highest quality. The staff are all very caring and genuine. We as a family call at various times, the atmosphere at Tenby is always good. The food is of a good standard and presented well. Thye always keep us
informed of any changes or incidents.

Thank you for your lovely comments. All fees are calculated by using sophisticated dependency charts, and how much it costs to look after each individual in the home, to provide the highest quality of care as demonstrated in the feedback comments. Will pass on to the team.

From what I can see my mum is safe, with 24-hour good care, good nutritional food, always clean and tidy, clean clothes, clean room, bed usually made, joining in now and making friends. I have eaten with mum at Tenby the food was very good. Would like more daily activities for her and a carer to take
her out for regular walks (daily). Staff and manager have quickly sorted out a few concerns I had. One call nurses in daily.
Reply from Lara Swan, Area Manager at Tenby House

Thank you for the lovely comments, not sure if you have spoken to the activities coordinator but there is a comprehensive range of activities in the home. The staff do try their best and take people out daily. Many residents go home to their families, or are taken out by their families were able to support the home in meeting this need.

We had a friendly welcome and shown straight to mum, noticed no smell this time as we entered home then up to room. We were given a brief run down on mum's health as we live overseas and can only visit every 2 years. We did notice an improvement in condition of home. Mum loves music would loved to have
found music playing in her room.

Mum has been a resident at Tenby for 4 weeks now, this being her first time in a home. I have been very impressed by all the staff and the facilities. She is starting to settle in and get comfortable. Every visit the staff are welcoming and all are aware of how mum has been and anything that has happened.
She always looks clean and her clothes and room are always well looked after. Would like to know more of any activities they do to stimulate her mentally. Thanks to everyone for looking after her so well.

The home itself is very nice and clean and tidy. The current staff are very pleasant and well mannered and extremely helpful. The kitchen area is very clean and tidy. The food given out is very good. The living quarters are A1. The outside area around the home is excellent. But more seating (benches)
is needed. Although one person comes in during the week to entertain the residents more activities are needed other than this person on their own. Although other entertainment comes in periodically, it needs to more regular, sometimes lack of communication amongst staff could be better, but overall, excellent we are very happy with the home.

My father has been diagnosed with alzheimers and we were unable to keep him at home. It was hard to put him in a care home and it has taken a while for him to get used to the idea. The staff and management look after him and care for him with kindness and are always helpful and cheerful. They know how
to help those with dementia, they mother him, take him out in the garden and do activities. The home is warm, lifgt and clean. My fathers room is comfortable. they allow us to bring any ornament etc into the room to make it homely amd familiar. Can only speak from my experience but feel he is safe and being well cared for at Tenby House. Everyone is friendly and look after 'the family' too. We can visit any time and are always made welcome.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.057)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.057) out of 10 for Tenby House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.776 for Tenby House is calculated as follows: ( (46 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 58 Ratings = 4.776
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.281 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Tenby House is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.4 = 0.781
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
