Valerie Manor

Valerie Manor is a beautiful, small care home in Upper Beeding, close to Steyning. It has beautiful gardens, and the most important thing of all: exceptional care staff who really look after my mum very well, and clearly genuinely care that she feels happy and well cared for. I have just asked my mum how she feels about Valerie Manor, and she said she's very happy here!

An excellent home - everything we want a home to be for our family member to be looked after well at this stage of their life. Staff are superb and we couldn't recommend enough, they all go over and above.

My father has been a few care homes now as we have moved around, and this is by far the cleanest, best run and full of the kindest nurses and carers. I am so happy we found Valerie Manor, Dad has settled in so well and is really thriving there. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a care home for a loved one or for themselves.

Our experience of Valerie Manor during a very stressful time has been excellent. All the staff have been respectful, patient, attentive and helpful in settling my Mum into her new life at Valerie Manor. The setting is tranquil and the rooms and shared areas are clean and tidy. My Mum can be a very picky eater and her likes and dislikes have been catered for constantly. Huge thanks to Daniella and her team.

The level of care and kindness shown has been excellent. The team that works there, no matter their job role, are easy to talk to and are very pleasant. They listen to any concerns and go out of their way to make you feel at ease by addressing these. The home itself is clean and well kept and there are activities held for those who want to take part. Overall, I feel that my mother is in good hands.

The staff are friendly and caring nothing is to much trouble always there to help both my parents are at the manor but sadly my dad past away in February the staff were loving caring and respectful not just to mum but all the family so we won't forget that thankyou for all you do and now mum is without dad you look after mum amazingly

Valerie Manor is a small homely residential care home. The staff are wonderful, kind and caring, and the food is lovely with a good variety. There is a spacious lounge, which is light and airy and opens onto a charming court yard and gardens. I would have no hesitation in placing my loved ones in Valerie Manor should there come a time when they needed that level of care.

First impression is how friendly and helpful all the staff nice, friendly. There is an air of peace and tranquillity. Firstly, there is a spirit of cooperation and good relations between the members of staff. Doubtless clear evidence of good management. The food is excellent and plentiful. The dining room itself is always beautifully set out and very attractive, while the lounge, looking out onto the garden, is both welcoming and peaceful. The surroundings are extensive and beautiful with many sun spots, if a loved one has to go into a respite home, Valerie Manor is, without a doubt, the one to choose.

Always very friendly and helpful staff. My wife seems contented and well cared for. Overall impression is of a well run and happy home.

Mum's been at Valerie Manor for almost a year now and we are very happy with the level of care. The staff are efficient, friendly and approachable - communicating well when needed. Mum enjoys the various activities and entertainers - particularly the singers and ballroom dancers. And the food, she says, is amazing! We feel Mum is safe and well cared for at Valerie Manor.

The staff at Valerie Manor have been so caring and supportive making my father's transition to care very easy. They have made him and the family feel very welcome, are so cheerful and knowledgeable, I am reassured that my father is receiving the best care. Every effort is made to make him feel Valerie Manor is his home. My father can't praise the staff and food highly enough.

Dad went to Valerie Manor at a difficult time for the family following the death of my lovely Mum. We found everyone we came into contact with, friendly, kind, caring and extremely helpful. Dad settled in very quickly and we as a family were treated as part of the Valerie Manor family from day one. Dad, being amongst people has done him the power of good, plus he is thoroughly enjoying the amazing food, so much so, he has put on a nice bit of weight. Thank you.

Very happy with the care provided and activities for residents if they want to join in. The atmosphere of the home always feels warm and friendly, all staff are polite and always welcoming and I would highly recommend Valarie Manor to anyone who asks.

When my mum's previous care home refused to have my mum back following a spell in hospital, as they said she now needed nursing care, my sister and I had to find another home at short notice. We were relieved that Valerie Manor had a room vacant and the manager was really nice to deal with. Unfortunately the hospital released my mum in a very poor state and she died after only 10 days at Valerie Manor, but we were very happy with the care that she received there and the staff couldn't have been kinder to both my mum and the family members that visited her. Just wish she could have had longer there as I'm sure she would have been very happy.

My mother has been in Valerie Manor for over 3 years and is very happy there. The staff are excellent and she also loves the food! They lay on a variety of entertainments for the residents as well as trips out to local cafes, garden centres etc., this month Mum is hoping to go on a trip to see the local Christmas lights. They also put on events which the relatives can attend. There was a Halloween tea party and the next one will be Christmas Dinner, a few days before Christmas.

I knew the care home way back when they used to refer residents to me for audiology matters. I was impressed at the time and recommended Valerie Manor to my next of kin. You helped her settle well and have shown much love and care. Thank you.

My mother spent one and a half years in several nursing homes and hospital. When we settled on Valerie Manor Care Home we could immediately notice the difference. The friendliness - genuine connections were made, kindness and gentleness, thoughtfulness and lovely nursing care. Every request we made was considered. The outings and activities, particularly those family were also invited, were so enjoyed and appreciated and what a garden and view.

Visitors are required to have a valid lateral flow test before they are permitted entry. The staff provide a high level of care to high standards and are very attentive to the resident's physical, mental and emotional requirements, personal hygiene, and bed linen. The staff are also welcoming to and supportive of residents' visitors.

My relative has been very well looked after in Valerie Manor. She is happy and is well cared for by the hardworking and dedicated staff, whose jobs are still made more difficult with covid. She particularly enjoys the excellent food. The full range of facilities and activities have not been available since the pandemic, which means more time spent in their bedrooms. Hopefully, this will change soon, when time allows.
