I cannot praise the nursing and management team at Valerie Manor highly enough. Coming from a nursing background myself, I fully appreciate how difficult it can be looking after someone with the health problems my father had. He was always treated with compassion, respect and dignity (as were we) not
just by the nurses but the catering, domestic and ancillary staff as well.
My father passed away, and I have to say the end of life care was above and beyond the call of duty. He always looked clean, comfortable and pain-free. During this difficult time, we were all kept informed of dad's condition and were treated with the utmost respect when we visited.
An absolutely wonderful team.

My mother moved to Valerie Manor a year ago. She chose to go there having visited a friend on numerous occasions and liked the atmosphere and garden.
All staff - management, carers, chefs and cleaners, all have been most attentive, helpful and always create a happy feeling in and around the home.
Any queries that arose initially, and thereafter, were dealt with patience and understanding.
Time is always given willingly and it is clear from all that my mother says and her general demeanour, she is very happy and pleased to have made her new home at Valerie Manor.

I’m a Registered Nurse with experience in many areas. I had been working in the healthcare sector for many years when I decided to become a nurse, and I qualified in 2006 so, I have been a Registered Nurse for the past 19 years and a Registered Manager for the past 9 years. I also have a level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Adult Care. I am very passionate about working with elderly residents and providing the best care and support for them to enjoy their life as much as possible.


Please feel free to call me Tammy. I live in Barnham with my daughter and husband who owns and runs a Wheelchair Taxi Company. I love most animals, and I have 4 chihuahua dogs. In my free time, my hobbies include Lawn Bowls and enjoying my allotment. We all prefer warm and sunny weather and my husband, and I like to take the caravan down to the New Forest with the dogs and enjoy the peace and quiet.

I have worked at Valerie Manor for 15 years, which was my first job in care. I started as a care Assistant and have worked my way up to Deputy Manager.


I have a level 2 and 3 Diploma in Health and social care and a Level 3 in End of life care.


My passion is in End-of-life care, as I feel that this is the last thing we can do for a person, to make them comfortable and pain-free. To be there for them and their families during their last moments is a comfort for them and us.


I have lived in the local area my entire life, living with my parents in Steyning and then moving to Upper Beeding 11 years ago. I have two brothers and a huge extended family which I love.


I have been with my husband for 21 years and married for 9 years. I have two daughters aged 12 and 8 who like to keep me on my toes.


I love living in a quiet village, which is close to the sea. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family and friends and go on holidays.

I have worked at Valerie Manor for 16 years and before that I worked in the community home care, I also did my school work experience in the care home that my mother worked in and my grandmother resided in! And now I’m lucky to have my other grandmother with me at Valerie Manor.


I have studied hard over the years and have my NVQ 2&3 and a level 2 in end-of-life care as well as learning a lot doing the job!


I’m very passionate about end-of-life care and believe that we provide the best EOLC at Valerie Manor.


I have lived in Upper Beeding all my life. I have been a part of the Valerie Manor family since 2007.


I am one of four children; I have one sister and two brothers.


In my free time, I like listening to all types of music, I also like socialising with my friends and family.

I have been in the care sector for 14 years, I have the Care Certificate, NVQ 2 and 3 and I have Level 2 and 3 in Dementia. I completed a Level 3 End of Life course and a Level 2 in Equality and Diversity. I have worked my way up from carer to Team Leader and now Residential Manager and during my time in the care sector, I have also worked in other departments.


I live in Steyning and have lived there all my life. I am single, I have three brothers and three sisters. I like walking, music, gardening and writing.
