We have found the support and care of our mum very good and we are regularly informed of her needs despite the current COVID situation. We feel Mum is in the best place.

For the four years since my mother came to live at Lily House, I and the family have found all staff has been more than helpful and kind in the care of my mother. Nothing has been too much trouble. Mother has had her ups and downs but has always been treated wonderfully.

We took my mum to Lily House a week before lockdown and the relief of knowing how well she is being looked after is immense. We talk to her on the phone every day and she is very happy and loves all the carers. They make her feel special and take great care of her. We can’t thank them enough for all
their efforts. Looking forward to seeing her again soon but in the meantime thank you so much.

On the whole a good experience. I am happy with what is done for me.
The only exception is that there is sometimes a lack of communication about what is happening in a particular situation. For example, I needed some medication and it was a long time (over a month) before it was available, which made
my life a bit uncomfortable.
Reply from Kerry Clifton, Home Manager at Lily House

I am very sorry you suffered any discomfort. I am always here if you have any worries as is our Deputy Manager. Thank you for your review and thank you for bringing this to my attention. Kerry

This is my mums first experience of living in a care home, she has settled down very well and I am sure this is due to the very caring staff who are looking after her and pleasant surroundings. Nothing is too much trouble for these wonderful and selfless people who work at Lilly House.

My husband and I have been very impressed overall with the services provided.
The staff are friendly and accommodating, to both residents and visitors in relation to any concerns or problems that might arise.
With regards to cleanliness, this seems to be of a high standard, as do the meals and snacks.
We were also impressed by the organised entertainment and the seasonal festivals, such as Easter and Christmas being recognised by appropriate decorations and themes.

I am very pleased with the service for my sister in law. The place is always clean, the carers are very good in dealing with all situations. My sister-in-law has never been so happy, she is made to feel like one of the family. There is always some activity which she can join in and she has made many
friends.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.423)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.423) out of 10 for Lily House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.928 for Lily House is calculated as follows: ( (77 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.928
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.495 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lily House is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 44 registered maximum number of service users is 8.8. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.8 = 0.795
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
