Melton House Care Home

The Care Home would certainly benefit from being smartened up and hopefully this will happen as there is a lot of building work currently taking place. Having said that the staff are lovely and do seem to care. Lot's of activities are organised on a daily basis which is impressive. My dad seems happy there which is the main thing.

My dad has been a resident at Melton House for 5 years and my mum ended her days there before dad became a resident. Both parents settled in hapily and I only have good things to say about the care they recive from the hard working staff and visiting nurses. The company now seem to be investing in cosmetic improvements to the building which was needed. I'm lucky to have them looking after my dad so well.

Activities during the week are inclusive to all along with happy and cheerful atmosphere

My mum has been at Melton House since October 2025. I have nothing but praise for the friendly staff, the activities organised for the resident and the smooth running of the home. My mum has made friends and is kept mentally and physically stimulated. She is part of a big family who take a real interest in her and look after her with compassion.

A very well-run and friendly home. Staff team is tightly knit which is very important. Every one seems happy. Dad has flourished since being at Melton House, and he enjoys the friendly staff, activities, and meals which are cooked on the premises. Rooms are comfortable and clean and staff are genuinely caring, and communication between staff and me has been excellent.

Clean, friendly, loving staff. Grandad always well looked after and happy. Social activities brilliant timetable. My husband is a paramedic and I have worked as a nurse in A&E and safeguarding and it is the best home either of us have seen. My grandma was here before as well.

Mum has recently been placed at Melton House, and we are so pleased with the care and support she is receiving. All staff are warm and friendly. Her room is spotless, and the kitchen food is amazing. Mum looks the best she has in months. Such a relief for all the family.

My mother has been at Melton House since the end of April + we have seen a big improvement in mums mood + wellbeing since she moved in. This is due to the kindness + patience of the staff that work there. They have gone out of their way to make her feel welcome. The kitchen staff have gone out of their way to cook her things she likes. As she is a fussy eater. The daily activities are great and make so much difference to all the residents.

Mum has been a resident at Melton Road Care Home for 8 months now. We have found the staff to be very helpful and caring with our Mother. Mum is in her nineties and suffers with a number of ailments including dementia. Healthcare is good as is the nutritional support. We feel confident with the care at Melton Road. The staff are friendly and trustworthy. The food is of a high home cooked standard. Mum has said how happy she is at Melton Road.

I was really worried about my aunt coming into residential care. Aunty had respite care 2 years ago and vowed she would never go into a care home. Her health has deteriorated rapidly over last 6 months and she chose to go into a care environment. Melton House was my no1 place and how lucky and blessed to have got her a place. It is not a residential home it's family home. From maintenance to catering domestic the lovely carers whom work for the clients 24/7 are amazing. It really is 100% family with dutiful delightly well trained staff and management.

After a visit to my uncle today I found the home so warming and friendly. The staff are amazing, so friendly and welcoming. My uncle looked so clean and cared for which was lovely to see, he seemed happy and was very talkative. The staff were decorating the Christmas trees and there was a singer singing Christmas songs, they had just finished lunch and it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

After being isolated in another home which was totally unsuitable for him it has been a revelation to see the change in his demeanour. He is extremely happy with all the attention he receives from the staff. They involve him in all of the activities. The food is excellent and plenty of it. The home allow him to go out for walks on his own which was not allowed at the other one. All in all, he couldn't have been placed in such a happy environment. Well done to all the staff.

My mum spent her last few months at this home and we could not fault the care so it was an obvious choice when my dad needed to be cared for to have him cared for here. My dad has had the best care and has settled in better than we could have hoped. He joins in with activities and is very social now. I cannot recommend this home enough. There is a warmth and homely feel always.

Melton House is a wonderful home. The staff are extremely friendly and look after my mum really well. The ratio of staff to residents is very good. Mum is treated like a member of their family. Meals are excellent and varied. I would not hesitate in recommending this home to anyone who is looking for a first-class care home for their family members.

My husband has been a resident of Melton House for over two months. We have been very happy with the care provided. The staff are supportive, friendly and accommodating; nothing is too much trouble. Personal choices in activities and dietary preferences are respected, whilst rigorous in providing medication and nutrition. He is always clean, well-groomed, and dressed in his own clothing. The general atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, visitors are welcome at any time. We are able to go out for walks and to visit local cafes. The decor is a little tired but homely and spotlessly clean. There is a close liaison between the care home staff and the local GP surgery, with collaborative care evident. I feel that my husband is treated as an individual, and he has settled well into his new home.

Levels of care balanced with the entertainment and activities are excellent, and communications with us as a family are friendly, open, and transparent. We feel welcome to visit Mum anytime and stay as long as we wish.

Myself and my family are very satisfied with the quality of care given to my mother. The staff are always friendly and cheerful towards the residents and the visitors that visit their loved ones. Everybody is treated with dignity and respect. Mum enjoyed a day out in August with the staff; they hired a minibus which belonged to another one of their homes and took some of the residents to the seaside for a few hours, they enjoyed fish and child as a treat and ice cream and a walk along the promenade and take photos.
