Carlton Hall is a residential village located in Carlton Colville and provides a full range of accommodation choices. The village is set in the landscaped grounds of the 18th century Carlton Hall and aims to give residents the opportunity to enhance their quality of life by providing a safe, happy, caring and comfortable family home in a peaceful setting. The home has won Lowestoft in Bloom for the last 3 years.

The original Hall premises encompasses 21 traditional rooms (one a double room available for couples) all with ensuite toilet/sink facilities, the Courtyard Dementia unit encompasses 17 individual rooms with a mixture of ensuite wet rooms or ensuite toilet/sink facilities, The Granary and Bakehouse encompasses 15 luxury rooms with original period features and ensuite wet room facilities, and the new Luxury Orangery unit encompasses light & airy large modern bedrooms with ensuite wet room facilities. All rooms throughout the home have an emergency call bell system and high levels of staffing to ensure care is provided as and when required. Additional lounge/dining rooms and assisted bathroom facilities are provided throughout the home.

Carlton Hall provides a range of care and support services, including Alzheimer's, palliative care, Parkinson's Disease, stroke, visual and speech impairment and physiotherapy.

Within the grounds residents and their families have full access to the Olive Tree Coffee House run by the care home staff, offering a choice of tasty snacks and cakes.

Also within the secure grounds reside 49 sheltered bungalows, available for purchase and for whom the home provides care and domestic help as required and a meals on wheels service, separately charged.

The care that my parents have received during their time at Carlton Hall has been excellent. We have had some difficult times due to their health, the support care from all the staff has made this difficult time for us so much easier, especially as some of the family are not local.
Fantastic team,
driven and managed by the bungalow manager.

I can not thank and praise the wonderful team at Carlton Hall enough. Everyone is so kind and caring to my mum, when I visit mum is always content and happy. My mum looks immaculate with her nails painted and hair washed and set. The grounds are beautiful with lovely flowers, ponds and plenty of seating.
Although I have been unable to see mum's room I just know the standard is high.

We placed my mother here a few years ago. She liked the home and was happy to stay. She remarked how happy all the staff are. The food is exceptional and you have a good choice. My mother has sadly deteriorated due to her age and illness (93) years young. She is unable to do anything for herself, but
she is now given 2-to-1 care. We find the home caring, kind, professional and clean. I am happy my mum is there.

My wife has been a resident of this excellent care home for just over 2 years due to Vascular Dementia and physical disability and from day one she has settled in and really liked the home. She’s always been treated with excellent care, dignity and is always looking well in regards to her clothing.
The care staff keep me updated regularly with her treatment if she falls ill and during the lockdown periods the care and entertainment staff have gone above their roles to keep her entertained and by providing us with video calls once or twice a week so we can keep in touch with each other. The management of this home have gone above the required PPE standards and have been very good at keeping the residents and staff safe during the pandemic, and the standards of care, food and hygiene are all excellent in my opinion. Their entertainment staff do a great job keeping my wife and the other residents fully entertained. I can’t thank the care staff enough for their work and I highly recommend this home.

My mother was admitted last October as it was in the middle of the pandemic it has been a difficult time for everyone. I've always found the staff helpful and pleasant. My mother has settled well and is happy. Her health has been well looked after and there is a caring atmosphere around her. I am more
than happy with the care she has received. (As I haven't been able to see her room and go inside I cannot comment on some of the subjects below)

Carlton Hall appears to be well run and the staff are friendly and helpful. My aunt has been a resident since mid-December 2020 and has settled in well. She enjoys the companionship of the other residents and the activities. We understand that the Covid situation has caused additional pressure on both
staff and residents but the management have dealt with the situation sensibly and managed to limit infections to residents, with good, sound procedures in place which all staff adhere to. We have been unable to visit my aunt's room so we are unable to comment on size or suitability but I know she is comfortable and all her needs are catered for. I know she relies heavily on the staff to do most basic tasks for her and she is very appreciative of all that they do.
