The management team and staff are excellent people and can not be faulted in their dealing with patients/people who really need care and attention. The job description requires staff to be resilient and caring in order to deal with a whole number of requests at any given time. Well done to everyone
at Godolphin House Care Home and thank you from me a satisfied husband of a complex client.

After a month in hospital I needed to recuperate before returning to my home in Porthleven. Godolphin House Care Home Helston was the perfect choice and I greatly enjoyed my stay there. It was a cross between a four-star hotel and a nursing home. The accommodation was excellent, nothing was 'shoddy'.
The food was always delicious and the efficient staff were unfailingly helpful, patient and cheerful. If ever the need arose, I would be happy to return!

I am very happy with the care my mum received at Godolphin House in Helston. She is always clean and tidy and looks very happy.
My one concern is that she needs hearing aids, I keep asking and they say they are acting on it.

As a visitor just about every day, I find the staff most obliging, helpful and very caring. They have helped me to transition from having Mum living with me to her being a resident in Godolphin House. It is very homely and friendly. It is very clean and the room is great. I have no complaints other
than maybe there could be more activities sometimes.
I couldn't be happier with Godolphin House in every aspect and would hate for Mum to have to move to somewhere else should she deteriorate too much.

My sister has been a resident at Godolphin House Care Home for over twenty years; obviously under different managements. Since the present management, Able Care took over the home she has been cared for in a wonderful way. My sister is completely wheelchair-bound but is being cared for in every way
to make her comfortable both by the fantastic staff and management. Before Covid 19 I used to visit her four times a week and have never found her distressed in any way. She has ever walked and has very bad sight from birth but is assisted in an exemplary way and treated with respect. Able Care has given the home a sympathetic 'makeover' with new facilities to make it pleasant for the residents.

Godolphin House have cared for my mum for nearly 4 years. Mum suffers with late-stage dementia. The staff are very kind and patient, mum doesn't understand basic instructions and does not recognise me. All staff are so caring. Mum is very relaxed and contented. I am so grateful that mum is cared for
by Godolphin House. They go the extra mile to help us during visits, even through Covid-19 restrictions.

The HCA’s were fantastic so caring and respectful shame they are not led by example. The food was ok, the laundry was always clean, most of the time the bedroom was clean and bed was made but when it wasn’t it was because they were short-handed on the floor which was often but they always tried to accommodate.
The building itself is tired but is always warm.
I’m just thankful to the HCA’s for being so kind to my dad, they were amazing.

Can't fault the level of care this home has given so far to my Dad who has been a resident now for a couple of years. He is always clean and tidy and looked after with dignity, Dads room is more than suitable for him with toilets/bathroom close by. The house itself is always very clean, food always
smells lovely when I visit. All the staff are friendly and easy to get on with and rest of the residents always happy with plenty to do like games or reading if they wish or just catch up with what's on the TV.

I have found the care of my sister who has been at Godolphin House since September 2018 to be exemplary. She has been treated with dignity and kindness by all of the staff. Whenever I have visited and it has been at all times of the day, she has been clean. The general cleanliness of the home is of
a high standard. The manager manages the home with a calm efficiency and leads her team of staff by example and kindness.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.595)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.595) out of 10 for Godolphin House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.695 for Godolphin House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (76 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.695
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Godolphin House Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
