Mum has received excellent care since moving in. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the care staff.
Mum's confidence has increased, she now enjoys sitting & chatting with other residents.

Care staff are very good at informing me if Mum is unwell.

My mum since coming to Philiphaugh has maintained a more positive mindset and her health has levelled out. She loves all the staff who are always happy to help her in her daily needs and 'wants' to the best of their ability. They treat her fairly and without complaint as she can be challenging at times. She loves her food here and again they do their best to get her what she likes as she can be a bit fussy on what she likes, but never a problem if she does not like what is on offer and willing to give her different.

I have been well looked after since I came here 3 1/4 years ago and the staff are really friendly & do anything for us if we ask. It is a really happy family care home and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

The management team and staff are excellent people and can not be faulted in their dealing with patients/people who really need care and attention. The job description requires staff to be resilient and caring in order to deal with a whole number of requests at any given time. Well done to everyone at Godolphin House Care Home and thank you from me a satisfied husband of a complex client.

My uncle is very settled and happy at Philiphaugh, which is lovely to see, and I am very grateful to all the staff there. I watch him interact with the staff and can see that they really do understand his needs. His room is spacious and always warm. Whilst I do not see the food at the home I have given a high score as my uncle tells me how much he enjoys his meals.

Review of Philiphaugh Manor from Terry G (Brother of Resident) published on 14 May 2024 Submitted via Postal Card

My brother has not lived at home with his wife for two years. For the first eight months he was either in hospital or in a home in another town. Philiphaugh is the only place he has been settled. He has never asked to be taken home and is happy with the food and all the staff there. The building is sad and does need updating, but the staff are wonderful and to the family this is what we care about for him more than any posh building.

Review of Philiphaugh Manor from Linda W (Daughter of Resident) published on 29 April 2024 Submitted via Postal Card

I was quite apprehensive of my mother entering a care home, however, my first thoughts and feelings of Philiphaugh Manor was what a nice atmosphere, immediately quelling my anxiety. Greeted by a senior member of staff who was very welcoming, sympathetic and optimistic. I felt reassured. The room my mother occupies is warm, clean and suitable for her. Every time we visit, the staff are very friendly and helpful and my mum said she couldn't be happier. She has only been there a month and I am reassured she is being looked after very well but very nice competent staff.

My mum has lived at Philiphaugh for 2 years. She is very settled now. She likes all the staff and says they are nice. I know my mum is happy here as she is always happy and settled when I see her. The staff are well trained, knowledgeable, and kind. They are always happy to chat and tell me how Mum is doing. They listen to my thoughts about my mum’s care. It would be great if they could get someone to take the residents out in the minibus again, now the weather is improving.

When we visit my sister at Philiphaugh Manor, the staff are always pleasant and welcoming. Staff are very tentative, they sit and chat with residents and take care of all their needs. My sister's room is good, it has a TV, large window, en-suite and is always clean and tidy.

Review of Godolphin House Care Home from V T (Respite Resident) published on 13 March 2024 Submitted via Postal Card

After a month in hospital I needed to recuperate before returning to my home in Porthleven. Godolphin House Care Home Helston was the perfect choice and I greatly enjoyed my stay there. It was a cross between a four-star hotel and a nursing home. The accommodation was excellent, nothing was 'shoddy'. The food was always delicious and the efficient staff were unfailingly helpful, patient and cheerful. If ever the need arose, I would be happy to return!

I am very happy with the care my mum received at Godolphin House in Helston. She is always clean and tidy and looks very happy.

My one concern is that she needs hearing aids, I keep asking and they say they are acting on it.

As a visitor just about every day, I find the staff most obliging, helpful and very caring. They have helped me to transition from having Mum living with me to her being a resident in Godolphin House. It is very homely and friendly. It is very clean and the room is great. I have no complaints other than maybe there could be more activities sometimes.

I couldn't be happier with Godolphin House in every aspect and would hate for Mum to have to move to somewhere else should she deteriorate too much.

Review of Philiphaugh Manor from Nichola M (Friend of Resident) published on 27 July 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
A lady who I care for came to Philliphaugh for respite in June 2023.
The manager and all the staff are absolutely lovely and really do care for the ladies and gentlemen. Nothing is too much trouble and will help you and accommodate you in any way they can.
The home itself is a lovely building, the rooms are quite big with en-suites for the people staying.
Plenty of activities my lady had her nails painted her hair was always nice in a ponytail or plated which looked lovely.
Visiting is great you get to spend time in their room if you wish or any of the communal rooms, the food looked lovely (made me hungry) and my lady enjoyed it all. Especially in the afternoon when a nice cup of tea came and a delightful lady had a selection of buns.
I can’t rank the staff high enough, very caring and helpful.

Thank you all so very much 10 stars are not enough that’s for sure.

Review of Philiphaugh Manor from Georgia B (Daughter of Resident) published on 16 January 2023 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

When you enter Philiphaugh you are immediately struck by its warm and homely atmosphere - it feels cosy and the staff seem to be genuinely kind and friendly. I cannot get my mother's opinion, as she has severe dementia, however, she never seems to want to leave after her respite stays. I think she probably prefers Philiphaugh to her own home! Other nursing homes we have tried have felt too clean, too clinical and too sterile. Philiphaugh does not feel like this at all - it feels like a proper home from home. I wish we could afford for Mum to live there all of the time!
