We have always been delighted with Elmwood. When my aunt had to be accommodated at short notice we wondered how things would work out.
We need not have worried she is very happy at Elmwood, looks well, is very alert and is always on good form. The staff are wonderful, friendly and very caring, the standard of cleanliness is exemplary and the food always looks most appetising.

The Staff were always friendly and caring ,especially in the last two years.

I have been resident here for just over a year. I am in my 102nd year and have found the care attention first class. I have a very comfortable room. The meals are very acceptable and I have established some good friendships with other residents. The individual carers are all very kind. If I need personal attention, they are very quick to respond.

My father received the most wonderful care during his last few weeks at Elmwood. The staff are truly wonderful, they cannot do enough for both residents and their families. My father was always treated with dignity, respect and care. Thank you all so much.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It was a privilege for all of us at Elmwood to care for your father during his time with us. He had such a warm and wonderful personality, and he is very much missed by the whole team.

My father, was a resident of Elmwood for over two years I visited almost daily .When he was allocated a room there I wasn't impressed with the CQC ratings but was impressed with the kindness of the staff and cleanliness of the communal rooms and the amazing garden. Over the time of his stay I have a seen tremendous improvement in the buildings . I have been to several special meals hosted for the residents and was impressed with the food and friendly service. If I ever had concerns on any issues at all i could inform the management and the issue was resolved expeditiously. My father was proud to call it "home " . When the time comes Elmwood will be my first choice for my mother.
Thank you for your kind words. Your father was very dear to us, and we're so pleased he felt proud to call Elmwood his home. We're glad you valued the kindness of our staff, the improvements to the home, and the welcoming meals and garden. We're truly grateful for your trust and touched that you would choose Elmwood again for your mother in the future.
Peaceful surroundings as particularly the beautiful garden with its emphasis on the old fashion plants appropriate to residents age.
Car Park Limited - pin number for security does not always open door.
Possibly shortage of physical exercises.

Thank you so much for sharing such a lovely review. We've loved getting to know your mother over the past couple of months and it's been wonderful to see her blossom into the talented artist she is. Her paintings bring so much colour to Elmwood, and we're so pleased she's enjoying the garden,...
My Great Nana is at Elmwood Residential Home and whenever we visit we are always blown away by the care she receives. One of the managers and her staff are always kind, welcoming and thoughtful. My Great Nana has just celebrated her 104th birthday at the home and I am so happy to hear about how the home helped her celebrate. One staff member in particular is amazing at communicating with family members which is such a relief especially when you live far away. Thank you so much for the level of care you provide for my amazing Great Nana.
Thank you so much for your review with your kind words. We are delighted to be able to have your Great Nana in our care. She is an amazing person and its incredible to believe she is anywhere near the age she has reached.
The staff are very patient and caring and went out of their way to make her stay a comfortable one. She especially enjoyed the food and often complimented the staff on their menu. Mum was a keen gardener and was always keen to be wheeled around an extremely abundant and well-kept garden. She could name all the plants and flowers as she passed them on her route.
I would like to name the members of staff and management who were so good to her, but if I try to name them all I will miss someone. You know who you are Ladies and Gentlemen!
Thank you so much for your kind review. We are all extremely thankful that we were entrusted with her care and shall be missing her greatly.
The staff treat me well - very well - kind and help me. (I have sprained my wrist - more than sprained) They help me get undressed and redressed and I can give 3 of them 100%. I find the staff excellent - whoever is on duty helps me dress and undress - make the bed put on clean sheets etc. No complaints very 100% girl. The beds are changed daily, very clean.
Thank you for your delightful review. We have always enjoyed having you here as a resident and are deeply thankful that you have entrusted us with your care.
My mum was so well cared for at Elmwood I would recommend it to anyone. The manager and carers could not do enough. The home is clean and well-maintained. The food is good too as are the homemade birthday cakes. Activities for residents are well thought out too. Altogether an excellent care home.
Thank you so much for your review. We very much enjoyed having your mother here.
My mother has been at Elmwood Residential Home for over two years. I visit every Wednesday. My mother is very happy at the home and enjoys the helpful care, good food and a warm, ground floor room.
The standard of the rooms and hospitality of the staff made me pleased, also the cost was very reasonable.
My aunt has been very happy with the standard and facilities she has been given to date and the attention she has enjoyed.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. Your aunt is a great joy to have here and we very much appreciate positive comments such as yours, which affirm the fact that the care of our residents is central to everything we do here.
My experience of Elmwood has been excellent in all aspects. The management and staff have been respectful of my aunt and uncle and responsive to their needs. Communication with me throughout the admission process and their stay to date has been excellent with the welfare of my relatives at the heart of everything. The owner, manager and deputy have been in post for many years and this ensures the stability and maintenance of standards at the home.
Thank you very much for your review. We are very glad that your aunt and uncle have settled in so well, and hope that we can continue to offer the excellent level of care that they deserve.
My mother moved to Elmwood Residential Home in September 2021 after an accident at home and has settled in well and is happy there. She reports that the staff are kind, caring and responsive, and she feels safe and well looked after. The management are excellent and she frequently sees senior staff. My mother enjoys the gardens, which are very well kept, and the peaceful location of the home. She recently had her 100th birthday and she was very touched by the bouquet she received from the staff, and staff were helpful with us having a family party in one of the dining rooms. My only reservation is that as a result of the pandemic and her reduced mobility my mother has tended to stay in her room for much of the time, rather than taking part in the various activities available in the home. However, I recognise that this is her choice, and the home provides her with regular information about all the activities available. Overall we are grateful to Elmwood Residential Home for the care and security they provide for my mother.
Thank you so much for your wonderfully kind review. Glad your mother is happy here. We really enjoy her being here.
Elmwood has a friendly, calm atmosphere. The management has continued to use strict Covid measures even when they were relaxed nationally. I have found the management very amenable to requests and they have gone out of their way to establishing a relationship with my father. His individual carers are on the most part sensitive to his needs, though some are rushed. He has not adjusted to meals and mealtimes but from what I have seen the food is nicely presented and appetising. The gardens are beautiful and well-tended. Wheelchairs are plentiful. The rooms are warm and comfortable.
Thank you for your review. We are constantly looking at ways that we can improve the care that we provide and your feedback is much appreciated.
Since arriving in January, I have noticed such relief in one resident at being cared for since January and therefore a marked improvement in her well-being. I find the atmosphere of Elmwood very homely and the staff all cheerful and friendly. The rooms are just right and the garden gives a beautiful outlook. The food is apparently very good too!
Thank you so much for your review. Our main objective has always been to ensure that we provide a home from home for our residents, with their comfort and wellbeing being of the utmost importance.
He never moaned about anything; he liked the people and the food from the chef.
Special mention to one lady, who he liked very much for your help and kindness.
He also was pleased that the owner and his son came to see him, to make sure he was alright and happy. Overall, everyone who helped with him - a big thanks.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. Your father was very dear to us all, and we will miss him greatly.
I was happy and confident that my mother was well looked after but people of varying ages who got to know her well. She has not been easy to look after due to dementia but they coped brilliantly. The gardens are beautifully kept and.
This review really means a lot to us – thank you! Your mother will be greatly missed by all of us who knew her. We take great pride in our garden being a great space for our residents to enjoy, not to mention of course the high levels of care that we always strive to attain.
