Have nothing but high praise for all the staff of Fourways. Their care and dedication cannot be faulted. They do everything they can to make sure my father is looked after and happy. Whenever I visit the Home it is spotlessly clean, and the staff greet you personally. My father is happy and content
at Fourways and I cannot thank them enough for the way they look after him. It is so reassuring to know he is in good hands.

All of the staff at Fourways provide a very high level of care tailored to individual needs. There is always every day a programme of varied activities taking place and the staff are always cheerful.
The public areas and private rooms are light, airy and beautifully decorated with flower arrangements.
There is also a stunning walled garden to enjoy when the weather is fine.

All staff are very friendly and tolerant. I have noticed an improvement in Mum's general health and movement since she has been at Fourways, thanks to the care and attention by the staff. The staff are always welcoming to family and partner(s) of residents and show concern for partner still living in
their own property. The management are very much 'hands-on' and will happily carry out everyday duties.

I consider myself extremely lucky to have secured my father-in-law a place at Fourways Residential Home. The staff are friendly, caring, kind and hard-working and nothing is too much trouble. Since arriving at Fourways he is a changed man. He arrived weighing less than six stone and had given up the
will to live. Within a few weeks he has gained weight, thanks to delicious food, enjoys a variety of activities and excursions and has made good friends. Brilliant.

Fourways staff were all wonderful and amazing in the final weeks before my wife passed away. The care and tenderness that they demonstrated day in day out was above and beyond anything I could have wished for.
My wife wanted to be cared for at home and without Fourways dedicated care this would not
have been possible. They helped her and laughed with her and she would look forward to their visits.
They really are the best. Thank you so very much.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.476)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.476) out of 10 for Fourways (Sidmouth) is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.875 for Fourways (Sidmouth) is calculated as follows: ( (22 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.875
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.601 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Fourways (Sidmouth) is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 21 registered maximum number of service users is 4.2. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 4.2 = 0.476
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
