Though Mum was only a resident for a short time, she was treated with kindness and dignity through her final stages of life. All the staff were helpful, caring and did their utmost to ensure that her stay was as good as can be expected in the circumstances. I would like to give sincere thanks for all
their help and attention.

I cannot rate the compassion and care given by the staff team highly enough. My mother was in the home for just a few months before needing more specialist care, but I have been very impressed by the kindness and warmth the home staff provided over this period. Not only did my mother always look so
well-cared for, but they fought our battles to get Mum kept in hospital for medical treatment when the hospital were trying to discharge her. She stayed there for a further three weeks, finally requiring palliative care. This was largely as a result of one member of staff, in particular, using her nursing background to understand that Mum was in real discomfort still and in need of further treatment (including oxygen). I am very grateful for the way the team worked with family members and looked after my mother - demonstrated by them still messaging us to ask for updates, despite Mum no longer being under their duty of care. A brilliant, hard-working and skilled team!

Recently, we had to admit our mum into a nursing home. We were quite concerned because this would be the first time Mum would be away from her home, which she loved. Not only this, but Mum has dementia and had lost her husband a year earlier. Well, we needn't have worried. Mum seemed comfortable instantly
and we were blown away by the level of care and professionalism shown by all the lovely staff. As medical experts, they were fantastic at liaising with doctors when Mum had to go into hospital, or when she had appointments – so we really felt we and Mum were in safe hands. We had many video calls - some late at night - to talk about Mum and her welfare. Two members of staff, in particular, could not have been more dedicated and committed to us and our mum - and they fought her corner on quite a few occasions when we came up against it! Every time we visited Mum we checked to see if she was happy – Koppers was quite far from us, so we were prepared to move her, if we needed to.

My husband received wonderful treatment during his stay. He was very contented and happy within his capabilities. A gentleman treated with care and compassion. He showed his gratitude which was rewarded by their love and care. I have no complaints. Even on his last birthday, he had a small party. His
physical care was not too great but mental deterioration was coped with and still, he was able to smile at all the helpers.
A great little home I would choose to end my days here too. Long may it continue.

My first impressions on ringing The Koppers Specialist Memory Care Home were excellent. I immediately felt reassured, in fact, I want to say thank you for the reassurance and comforting I personally, as a daughter of a resident at Kopper's, received.

On visiting and meeting the staff and seeing

how well my Mother was managed and cared for, I thankfully felt that she was in the right place and a huge weight had been lifted.

Kopper's has a happy and homely atmosphere, clean and tastefully decorated, with dedicated, compassionate staff who obviously enjoy their work.

My father has been at The Koppers for over 3 years and arrived with advanced dementia. He had previously lived with my family for 5 years but just became too aggressive for us to manage and provide appropriate care.
I was devastated when I had to put him into care, but it turned out to be the best
thing for him and I wish I had done it earlier.

Koppers changed ownership in December 2015 which was a huge concern. However, the very high standard of care of the homely atmosphere has remained unchanged. The owners and staff have been incredible with dad, who despite being 95 years, is very strong and unpredictable. They always treat him with affection and see his true nature behind the dreadful illness.

On a more practical level, there is are always sufficient staff to provide supervision and give individual attention to residents. I never have any qualms about my dad's care or safety.

This residential home is more like a family home, from the first time we entered the door we were met with friendly and competent staff and we knew that our elderly mum would be happy there. Our mum is now settled and calls Koppers her home. She is happy and knowing she well looked after has made us
happy. We are always welcome to visit anytime.

Mother moved to The Koppers Specialist Memory Care Home in June 2015 and has been very well cared for in all the time she has been there. She's over 100 and nearly blind plus her hearing is not great. The staff at the care home engage with her regularly. In addition to her needs with regard to dressing,
washing, feeding etc. They talk to her and make her laugh. They have been prompt in calling for medical assistance when it has been necessary. I and the rest of the family can rest assured she's in the best place. Regular hair and chiropody appointments are made.

From what I've seen so far the care home has done a good job of caring for my mother and I am very satisfied with all the staff. The home is always very clean and warm and the residents all appear to be happy. Whenever I visit there is a warm and friendly atmosphere. I would not hesitate to recommend
The Koppers to anyone else.

Dad was at The Koppers Specialist Memory Care Home for some weeks up until the time he passed away. The care, support and treatment he received whilst he was there was absolutely first class. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff treated Dad with respect and dignity at all times. Everything
involved in Dad's stay was excellent - the communication from management and staff, the support for us, not to mention the endless (and very welcome) cups of tea and coffee during the family's frequent visits to see Dad. We could not have wished for Dad to have been in a better place. The Staff and Management have our thanks and ongoing gratitude, they truly made a very difficult time bearable for the whole family.

The staff at The Koppers are all so caring, friendly, supportive and welcoming. My grandma has been at The Koppers since November and is so happy here. She has made such progress i.e her mobility is brilliant (The hospital said she would not be able to walk!) she has put on weight and has made lots
of friends. The residents are encouraged to socialise, rather than stay in their rooms. It really is very well run home!
