My mother has been a resident in Tracey House since September 2020. She eventually died at Tracey House on 8th September 2021. Throughout her stay, she was treated with dignity, respect and consideration and was extremely well cared for. My mother spoke very highly of the home and the staff. For the
past several weeks prior to her death, she was receiving palliative care. How she was treated during this period was exemplary and a great comfort to the family. The compassion she was shown was wonderful.

Exemplary care and a warm, friendly environment. At Tracey House, I feel the care extends through the whole home, including the grounds and the staff, not just the residents. The residents benefit from this, as if the staff are happy, they will be better able to care for them.

When independent living became a bit of a struggle, my mother moved into Tracey House and lived there for almost four years. With friendly and attentive staff, a clean and homely environment and a beautiful garden, Tracey House has never disappointed. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and attention
delivered by the Tracey House team, from the most junior to the most senior and across all skill sets. So many of the staff went the extra mile to make her life as comfortable and interesting as possible and they always treated her with respect as an individual. I was regularly consulted on decisions regarding her care and it was a huge relief for me to know that she was safe and well looked after. I was also reassured by how Tracey House called on external medical practitioners to ensure she received the best possible treatment for any medical needs. My mother passed away peacefully at Tracey House and I’m thankful she was kept comfortable with kind and tender care right to the end.

My aunt has recently moved into Tracey House for a months trial. I cannot believe the change in her in a short space of time. She is so much happier with the company, care and support around her. The food is excellent, and she is eating regular meals again, which is such a comfort to us, her family
knowing she is safe and well. Thank goodness we were able to move her to Tracey House!

My mother went to Tracey House for respite care in June 2021. Because of the warm welcome, she settled immediately. When it became clear that her fragility would not enable her to return home, we knew she could not be in better hands. She received affection and attention from all staff, and the carers
always took time to talk to her about her family and her life. Any concerns were passed swiftly to the local surgery. I was able to be with her each day, and until the end, spent many hours talking of our life together and making her smile. She passed away in August, calm and comfortable.

Tracey House is a lovely home set in beautiful grounds close to Dartmoor. The staff are very friendly and helpful and there is always a warm welcome. My mother lived there for the last three years of her life. She was dubious at first but within a week she had been won over. She particularly liked the
activities held in the sun lounge, a light and warm room overlooking the back gardens. At dinner, she told me she was at the top table with a major and a wartime spy. All true except the top table bit. She enjoyed the food and told me that now and again the residents were asked if they had any requests. Her choice of steak and kidney pudding duly appeared on the menu one day. Her room was small but had a wonderful view across to Newton Abbot so even when a bigger one became available she refused to move. Sadly she died in the home just before Christmas. Everyone was wonderful and she had the most peaceful passing you could imagine. I can't speak too highly of this care home.

My father lived here for over six years. From the day he arrived to the day he died, he received a professional and truly caring approach from all the staff. His mental, emotional and physical needs were all considered and catered for, adjustments made as his needs changed. He enjoyed the meals, activities
and entertainments offered. He made suggestions - there are always opportunities for this. Appropriate outside help was brought in as needed. There was excellent communication between the home and family. We felt the owners, manager and all the staff became an extension of our family. I received support when distressed. I would be happy to be a resident.

Tracey House provides genuine care which treats people as individuals. Staff always appeared sensitive to my father's needs which varied over a six-year period. At first, he was encouraged to engage in activities which ranged from using his own woodcarving equipment to going out on local trips. Much
later staff would take him into the garden in a wheelchair. He was treated with appropriate tenderness and respect when ill and subsequently at end of life. Staff also engaged with family in a supportive manner which was much appreciated.

My mother has been at Tracey House for 3 years and has been extremely happy. The staff always treat her with great respect and encourage her independence but always provide support when required and provide interest and entertainment. Always kind to family, welcoming and encourage visits. Can't fault
the home or the staff/management.

My mother has been at Tracey House for the last 18 months and has just died, aged 97. She had been living alone unaided until her admittance but was given every opportunity to acclimatise to her new surroundings at a pace that suited her and she soon came to appreciate the friendship and facilities
that were on offer. The premises are graciously appointed, warm and comfortable and the atmosphere is one of being in a large family home. Over the last 6 months, my mother has declined in health and has needed considerably more care to maintain her dignity and promote her wellbeing. The staff have been incredible in the imaginative and thorough way they have appraised her changing needs and have liaised with the local surgery to access all the extra medical support required to manage her care. The last few days of her life were gentle and calm, helped by the fact she felt she was able to die "at home" and amongst friends. We can't speak highly enough of Tracey House.

This is a lovely residential home set in beautiful grounds. It is very clean and serves good food. There are numerous varied activities for the residents which are held most days. The staff are kind and very caring, welcoming families to visit at all times. My father aged 100+ was extremely well especially
towards the end of his life. He died very peacefully and happy. He considered the staff a second family. The staff also extended their care to the family as a whole when we were with my father at the end.

Tracey House was recommended to our cousin by a trusted friend. From the outset, it was clear that this is an exceptional place. They literally take care of 'everything'. All of the staff are first class and make you feel welcome. The house and grounds are beautiful and in a wonderful setting. For folks
who cannot remain on their own, this is a 'home from home'.

I describe Tracey House as "the sort of place you hope to find". My mother moved there following recommendation from a friend of mine who's mother also lives there. It is an excellent place where my mum is very happy. In my job I saw many care homes and can honestly say this is the best I have seen.

A first class residential care home in all respects and superior in our opinion to any of the others in this part of Devon. Tracey House initially provided respite care to my 90yr old mother while she was living at Hay Tor. Four years ago she moved permanently to Tracey House and remained there until
her final admission to hospital in Aug 2015. Despite my mother's declining health and other problems the care home staff looked after her very well and we are most grateful to them as well as to the care home owners who showed great consideration to my mother. It was self-evident that there was very good ethical basis for the care of residents and comprehensive notes were maintained on my mother's medical and other requirements throughout.
Tracey House itself is in a delightful setting and the standard of the gardens is impressive. The premises is conspicuously clean and well-maintained. My mother took every opportunity to be outside when the weather permitted. We consider that we very fortunate to be able to place my mother at Tracey House and we send our best wishes to the staff and residents with whom we are still in contact.

Having known the proprietors for many years we have , my wife and I been to Tracey House in many guises.. as friends, supporters of their many charitable fund raising events, as visitors to many of the residents and as a witness to the are and attention given to the residents. At no time has there been
anything but praise for the way Tracey House has been seen as the perfect environment in which to spend ones later days. It is a joy to listen to the residents comment on all aspects of their life and it sets a benchmark for all such homes it really is top of the tree!
