The aim of The White House is to fulfil the lives of residents who have dementia to live the life they deserve. Trained staff are there to make a difference and staff welcome the opportunity to discuss how they can support your loved ones.

The White House is nestled in the beautiful town of Teignmouth, found on the sunny Devon Coast. The home overlooks the bay with sunshine flooding the gardens and house.

The home offers the following services:

- In-house cook and freshly prepared food

The White House also offers 5 beautiful self-contained apartments for those looking for independent living or respite care.

Each unit has its own bathroom and kitchen and peace of mind that staff are on hand to help maintain the independence and well-being of customers.

This is a very well organised care home with excellent staff that take a great deal of care making sure the residents are happy and all medical needs are met. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone.

My father has been at The White House for some time and every time I visit he is always happy, clean and tidy. The staff are brilliant, cheerful, always helpful and caring to the residents and fellow staff. The building is kept to a good standard and is always clean.

I cannot have been more pleased when Mum went into the White House, the staff have been amazing. Mum has vascular Dementia and can be difficult at times, but she was happy - they got her up and dressed every day, and she was with the other residents, so she wasn't alone in her room all day.

The White House was clean and tidy.
I left my Brother enjoying a cup of coffee and biscuits.

As a family we we were very concerned about Mum having to move into a care home. Would she be safe and cared for? We needn't have worried, The White House management team and carers have been brilliant in their care of Mum, they are approachable and always ready to help. All the staff are kind, caring
and respectful which helped Mum settle in very quickly. She enjoys the home-cooked meals and taking part in the various activities provided, especially the musical entertainment. We visit regularly, Mum seems happy and well cared for and the home has a friendly, positive atmosphere.

After a bad start in the care system (in another care home and hospital) Mum came to The White House in a poor state but the amazing care she has received there has meant she's gone from strength to strength and settled in so well. They really have great staff and create a positive atmosphere.

Our family are very happy with the care our mother receives in this care home. She has very complex needs associated with severe dementia, and these are managed very well by the home. The manager and staff keep us updated frequently about her ongoing care and will contact us promptly about any concerns.
When we visit Mum, she always looks well cared for and takes part in activities with other residents.

Dad is very settled and feels at home in his little flatlet. He says he enjoys the food and likes the company of most of the staff. Dad always looks clean and tidy. he enjoys having a cigarette outside of his flatlet and the occasional glass of brandy. He has made a good friendship with Marmalade, the
ginger cat, who occasionally visits the home!

My mum suffered from advanced dementia and was cared for at The White House for the last sixteen months. Throughout this time she received the most wonderful care from the dedicated, happy team. They made every effort to look after Mum with dignity and compassion, which was extended to ourselves in
her difficult last weeks. There was always a cheerful atmosphere with plentiful activities and musical entertainment to enhance the lives of all the residents. Safeguarding procedures were always followed and communication with family was good. The permanent staff here are special people who do a fantastic job.

Mum moved in and instantly settled in at The White House. The staff all went out of their way to get to know Mum and make her feel welcome and secure.
The White House team worked with the local doctor's surgery to ensure Mum's ongoing care needs were not interrupted by the more.
The White House
is very accommodating and welcoming of visitors 9and pets) at various times of day, and I feel Mum's safety and happiness are at the centre of what they do.

The White House is a wonderful care home. My mum has advanced dementia and has been a resident for over a year. She is very well cared for and always happy. She is much happier in care than she was at home. This is because the carers are always kind and caring and fully understand her needs. My mum
going into care was a hard decision, but as a family, we have huge comfort knowing she is in good hands. We can now spend happy times with Mum without constant stress and worry. I would highly recommend The White House. Thank you to all the staff! You all do a brilliant job!

Mum has been a resident since May 2022. From the first initial visit when choosing a home until the present, I have seen nothing but care, professionalism and a sense of humour amongst all of the permanent staff and temporary staff. I have been so impressed by the team and their dedication.

I have been here for two months and my care has been exceptional. In the beginning, I thought the care provided would change in time, as I was new. The care continues to remain excellent, they do not change even if there is senior staff around. I would not like to go home. I would like to stay here

The staff at the White House are kind and caring. They are respectful to my mum and help her with her daily life. Mum has been very happy since moving to the White House. The food is home-cooked and fresh. The house and rooms are clean with no smells. The house is safe and the security is good without
being over the top. I would recommend the White House and am very happy that my mum is being looked after in a home from home.

Mehul and Tushar

Mehul and Tushar Shah

Job Title: Directors Joined: 2018

Prior to starting Centrum Care Homes, Mehul and Tushar successfully, and continue, to lead by example in excellence in domiciliary care. Rated outstanding with the CQC and continue to provide outstanding care in the Reading area.


Mehul worked in the City within Investment Banking and Finance, working for leading Global Investment banks. Within a short period of time, Mehul was given the opportunity and responsibility of managing the bank's extensive European Property portfolio as well as advising multinationals on their mergers and acquisitions strategy.


Mehul has a passion for operational excellence, working with the team to ensure that the system and processes are in place to deliver and evidence quality care. Mehul works alongside the team to ensure that the team is meeting CQC standards, and operational sustainability and has a key eye for detail.


Prior to launching Bluebird Care, Tushar worked at Mars Inc, working in a variety of management roles in IT, Commercial, Sales and Marketing. He was responsible for the management of Mars' European Advertising and Media Agency relationships.


Tushar has a passion for bringing creative ideas to fruition to better the quality of life of our residents and team alike. Tushar works alongside the team to support business development. Working in partnership with the councils, CCGs and local charities, Tushar works in identifying challenges and putting in place sustainable and innovative long-term solutions.


Tushar is also passionate about developing a culture of quality and excellence within the workforce.

With over 30 years of care experience, I’m passionate about making a difference through person-centred care. I’ve worked at Centrum Care Homes for nearly 15 years, progressing from night carer to team lead, then Deputy, and now Manager. I’m committed to supporting both residents and staff, helping teams grow and thrive.


Creating a nurturing, respectful environment where both service users and staff feel valued is at the heart of everything I do.


As the Manager, I oversee the daily operations of the home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care. I lead and support the care team, manage compliance and standards, and work closely with families and professionals to maintain a safe, caring, and effective environment for all residents.


I love working in care because it allows me to make a real difference in people’s lives every day. Supporting others—whether it’s helping someone feel safe, valued, or simply bringing a smile to their face—gives me a deep sense of purpose. I find it incredibly rewarding to build trust with individuals and their families, and to know that the care I provide helps improve their quality of life.
