My wife continues to be cared for extremely well by the whole team. I would request that the website is updated with the names of the new managerial personnel and that all staff have name badges so that they can be properly acknowledged and thanked for their work.

I visited my mother Pat on March 14th, a most enjoyable visit. I travelled from Newquay in Cornwall and try to visit once every 3 weeks. Whilst on this visit, I accompanied my mum to lunch, where she ate a sweet and tea, the food is always good here. Mum generally tends not to want to eat much; she prefers soft food and sweets. I see major refurbishment in progress, being done with due consideration to the residents and staff.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. It truly means a lot to us that you make such a long journey from Cornwall to visit your mum so regularly-we're really glad to hear that your time together on March 14th was so enjoyable.

It's wonderful to know that your mum enjoyed her lunch and that...

Our family will be forever grateful for the genuine care, respect and compassion shown to my Dad from the first home visit to the final moments of his life. They gave us back the man we loved for two short but invaluable months. The staff made us and him feel like we were all part of a " family " I wish I had made the decision earlier to entrust my lovely Dad into Windward. I hope the staff and management never underestimate the positive impact they have on residents and their families!

I was very impressed with the genuine care shown by the staff for my mother. She passed away a few days ago, having been at Windward for about 15 months. All the staff seemed to be there because they genuinely cared. The staff also cared for we relatives, often offering us tea or coffee.

Her room was nice, adequately warm.

I am not experienced with care homes, so my review is not comparative.

With my cynical hat on, I'd assumed the home would increase its charges once Mum was stuck there, but I was wrong. The charge remained the same, which I was impressed with, suggesting genuine care rather than care for profit.

Reply from Tushar Shah, Director at Windward House

We put Mother in for a week's respite care in September and couldn't be happier with the level of care and attention she received. Mother has been enthused about the placement ever since and although we obviously want to keep her at home, she's actually started to nudge us to get another break. I'd thoroughly recommend the home for the compassion and care levels received. Well done guys and thank you.

Reply from Mehul Shah, Director at Windward House

Thank you for your kind words, and we are glad your mother had a great week with the care she received last month. We're also delighted to hear it gave you the much needed respite you were looking for, and look forward to helping you again in the future.

Not a place I would recommend. My dad's stay was not the best. Not encouraged to come out of the room, even though he is a social person. Some Meds were missed for 2 weeks. Staff were always cheerful, but it's the care that's important. Not very happy overall.

Reply from Tushar Shah, Director at Windward House

Dear A M, thank you for sharing your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear your father's stay at Windward Care Home did not meet your expectations. We strive to provide high-quality care, and it's disappointing this was not your experience. After reviewing the situation, it seems the medication...

From start to finish the stay here has been comfortable and hassle-free. I have not needed to call on the staff much at all but have been checked on in a pleasant and caring way which is reassuring and left me in need of nothing.
