Tracy already had five years of experience as a Registered Manager before she joined us in 2014 to manage St Cecilia. She started working in the care sector in 2001 as a carer for individuals living with dementia, progressing to Deputy Manager in 2005, and Registered manager in 2009.
She says: “What I really love about my job is the happiness and comfort we bring to individuals living with dementia, making their daily life enjoyable through getting to know their life history and incorporating this into their daily lifestyle. Words cannot describe how rewarding I find my work. I am very proud to head the team here.”
Tracy has strong family ties with her sisters and her two adult sons. She loves horses and has enjoyed riding all her life. For holidays she loves a cruise and has visited many countries around the world with her family.
Lauren joined us as Deputy Manager in 2023, having also worked at St Cecilia Care Home from 2014 to 2020 as a care assistant at the beginning of her care career.
She says: “I enjoy all aspects of my role, and love that what I do makes a genuine difference to our residents’ lives. It is so fulfilling to know you’re enabling vulnerable people to live their best lives when they are no longer able to do so independently.”
Lauren likes “tinkering with motorbikes” with her partner, and has ridden pillion as far afield as Snowdonia, the Lake District and Land’s End. She has a close family and enjoys being actively involved in supporting her younger siblings.
Philip is the third generation of the White family to run the family’s care homes. He joined the family business in 2003, after taking his A-Levels, working his way up from washing dishes to his current position as operations manager.
He says: "At the heart of the care we provide is our commitment to providing a relaxed and nurturing home-from-home environment for our residents and ensuring they retain a genuine connection with their friends and families and local communities. This is what makes our homes special and our work so rewarding.”
In his spare time, Philip plays golf for Somerset and the South West of England and enjoys spending time with his wife and young family.
Bonnie is responsible for overseeing all three of our homes, supporting the managers and helping ensure overall quality, systems compliance, new care planning and supporting governance principles.
She joined us in 2023 after a decade with a specialist dementia care home in Wellington, first as clinical lead for dementia care then as deputy manager.
She says: "Working in care is one of the most rewarding things you can do: knowing it’s in your hands to deliver the best quality of life for your residents and enjoying the variety of a working environment where no two days are ever the same."
A mother of two, Bonnie enjoys spending time with her children, her extended family and her dogs.
Josie has worked in care for 27 years and brings a great deal of experience with her to St Cecilia. She feels her passion for caring comes from her parents due to the love and respect shown and taught to her.
When Josie isn't working, she enjoys playing board games, including chess, outdoor games like volleyball and basketball, and she likes to have a blast at karaoke.
Brenda has worked in the care industry for 7 years. 5 years for the ambulance service in Zimbabwe and 2 years here in the UK.
Brenda is passionate about helping people and making a difference to our residents' day.
Outside of work, Brenda enjoys travelling, music and reading.
Tina has worked in care for an amazing 26 years! Tina boasts a wealth of experience that she is able to share with the team. Tina has worked for St Cecilia's for 18 years and currently works night shifts.
Tina enjoys chatting to our residents and listening to stories of their lives, what they have done, the travels they have had and the happy memories they share.
Tina likes to be able to offer help and support, and to feel she has made their day a little bit better and brighter.
When Tina isn't at work, she enjoys spending time at the beach, walking her dog and reading a good book.
Ness has worked in care for over 16 years - 15 of those with us here at St Cecilia. Ness takes pride in her work, ensuring residents' clothes are laundered and returned to residents' wardrobes clean and fresh.
Ness likes to help our residents and make a difference to their day. Ness can often be found supporting residents folding/sorting clothes, as they may have done before coming to live with us.
Ness enjoys walking, gardening, socialising and going on holiday with family and friends when she isn't busy supporting us here at St Cecilia.
John has spent the last 10 years working in the care industry. Before coming to work with us at St Cecilia, John worked with people in their own homes.
John likes to help and support our residents to enable them to have a good day. John is often found leading our games of skittles in the lounge, which can get quite competitive at times!
When John isn't at work, he enjoys going to the theatre, eating out and working on the farm.
Kate has worked in social care for 23 years. She was previously a home manager for another provider before coming to work with us at St Cecilia in 2022. Kate has a lot of experience that she is able to share with her colleagues.
She finds her role very rewarding and feels that making a difference to our residents' lives is fulfilling.
Kate enjoys an active life, with swimming, walking and gardening being enjoyable hobbies. Kate also enjoys watching different series on Netflix.
Sarah has worked at St Cecilia's for 5 years. Sarah likes to help others with daily activities.
Outside of work, Sarah likes to spend time with her family.
Helen has worked in care for over 17 years, all here at St Cecilia's. Helen enjoys helping her residents to have the best day and to make them smile. Helen feels working at St Cecilia is like having a second family.
In Helen's spare time, she enjoys visiting National Trust gardens and completing diamond paintings.
