I have power of attorney for a friend and had to put her into care nov 2025,it was emotionally exhausting , the manager was so understanding and supportive and completely made the experience a lot easier for me.
Also there is never any judgement when I am not able to visit. I know she is safe and the staff are patient caring and treat everyone as individuals including the visitors.

It is a lovely home

St. Cecilia is proving to be the perfect home for my sister. The staff are very caring & always make us welcome. The manager updates us with ongoing concerns & we are always given refreshments. We have noticed that there is always staff in the lounge with residents; We are always booked in on arrival & on leaving we are booked out by staff. We have also noticed how happy the other residents are.

My Dad spent his final months at St Benedicts in late 2025/early 2026 and the care he received was fantastic. He was treated kindly and with compassion and respect, and his changing needs were more than met at every stage, even when this presented challenges for the team looking after him. Not only that, but myself and other members of my family were warmly welcomed at every visit by the staff, who were friendly and helpful whenever we needed something. The food was of a great standard and the staff thoughtfully offered me something to eat and drink on several occasions when I spent the whole day/weekend visiting. Although Dad was sadly too unwell to participate in many of the activities, I could see that there was a vibrant and varied programme available. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend St Benedicts to anyone looking for care for a loved one. Thank you to the whole team.

Our Dad spent the last year of his life at St Benedicts and was warmly welcomed from the very start.
Every single member of staff treated Dad with kindness and respect making sure he was always clean and comfortable.
We were constantly amazed by the fabulous standard of home cooked meals offered ,Dad particularly liked the breakfasts!
As he grew frailer the support given to him and all of us a family was second to none, and for that we will be forever grateful.

I would highly recommend St Benedicts to anyone looking for good family friendly care.

I have made a number of visits to St Benedicts, wearing more than one hat. On every visit, almost always unannounced, I have been welcomed warmly, with politeness, and the staff always willing to help.
All the staff I have spoken to are courteous and considerate, they are never put out by my visits and always show nothing but patience and respect.
More importantly they are engaged with the residents whatever time of day I have visited. Activities are consistent not sporadic and individual requirements are always considered and respected.

St Benedicts are communicative, knowledgeable and principled. Their residents are people not faces and that matters.

Reply from Philip White, Owner at St Benedicts Nursing Home Ltd

All the staff at the home have been above and beyond in everything they do. They have made the last 6 weeks of my father's life comfortable. They have been outstanding in looking after him. He was always cleanly shaven and washed everyday. They really care and have a passion about their work and take a great deal of pride in there work. In short they care, the team is like one big family. I would recommend this home to everyone. Thank you.

We will never be able to thank everyone at St. Benedicts for what they have done for our mum, and all of us. You have nurtured, loved and cared for Mum, showing her dignity, kindness and respect. You have become a 'family' for our Mum and us. When we have needed guidance and support your staff have always been there. During the last few days of our precious Mum's life your nursing home has become our home. You have not just loved and cared for Mum but for all of us too and for this we will always be grateful.

The care everyone has given our lovely Mum has been incredible. All members of staff are caring, kind and respectful. Not only has our mum been nurtured, but so has our dad during his visits to Mum. The staff have taken time to get to know them both which has meant the world. In the last days of Mum's life the home has become our home and the staff our extended family. We have no words to explain how grateful and thankful we are for all of your love.

Would highly recommend St Benedicts Nursing Home in Glastonbury to everybody. My dad Robbie was only with them from October to when he sadly passed away in December as it was end of life care. From the moment my dad arrived the kindness, compassion and care from all the nurses, carers and management was truly outstanding. They truly go above and beyond to not only provide the most top level of care for there residents but also have so much care and support for family members too. They treat all the residents like there own family members. Have the upmost level of care and a true place for residents to call there home. All the staff deserve the upmost praise and admiration in everything they do here at st benedicts and you will always have a special place in all our hearts and never be forgotten for everything you done.

Review of St Benedicts Nursing Home Ltd from Marnie F (Friend of Resident) published on 16 January 2026 Submitted via Website

My friends, a married couple had a double room here at the end of their life.

Firstly, the help and information provided by the manager when I first enquired about the placement was so helpful, she went above and beyond. My husband and I had a lovely meeting with her and nothing was too much trouble. Especially as I didn't know the ropes.

My friends were really happy there, settled in quickly, no pressure to do more than they wanted to. We could visit anytime, the nurses and care staff were excellent and kept me informed regularly. They were all so respectful of my friends wishes in everything, especially their medical care.

I couldn't of wished for them to be in a better place, I was so pleased that they had such wonderful care at the end, I have nothing but praise and respect for the staff here. It was a pleasure to get to know them and we really appreciate all their hard work.

I will be forever grateful for the care given to my late father Anthony, known as Tony. He loved his time there and he got to know all the staff and felt really at home. They were all so lovely to him and treated him with great dignity, kindness and respect. My Dad loved making a joke and enjoyed telling the staff all about his life and what he'd got up to in his past and had a real connection to some of them. Myself and my family felt very welcomed when visiting and couldn't fault his room, we were allowed to make it feel very homely with his personal belongings. It is with great sadness that I recently lost my Dad as he was loved so very much but we'll always remember St Benedict's with fondness and appreciation for how well my Dad was looked after. I would recommend this care home for anyone looking for their relatives.

Mum spent her final 2 1/2 very happy years being looked after by the caring and dedicated staff. Whenever we visited we were warmly welcomed with tea or coffee, in fact we felt like one of the family. There were always plenty of activities plus singalongs, magicians and mums favourite the owl obsession. We would have no hesitation in recommending St Benedicts Nursing Home Ltd.

My wife has been "a guest" ar the Rectory for nearly six months now and the change in her attitude and outlook has vastly improved compared to her initial reactions. She is relaxed, comfortable and at ease with all the other "guests". The staff, from the manager down, are very caring, involved, friendly and always eager to put you at ease and treat everyone with respect. The care home itself is clean, and fresh. There are always cleaners around ensuring it is always so. The onsite laundry facility is a boon, taking worry and concern away from me because I know my wife will always be well presented. The catering is of a high standard and there are always refreshments and nibbles available whenever required. The individual, en-suite, accomodation is always well kept, adequately furnished and with a pleasant outlook.

In all, I am pleased that I chose the Rectory Care Home knowing that my wife's dementia is less of a burden to her, me and the family.

My Mum moved to The Rectory 6 months ago. As a family, we were so worried about the transition from own home to care home but with the love, support and knowledge from the team, the transition was seamless. Mum is thriving in the relaxed, home from home environment.

We can't thank the team enough for support they have given not only to Mum, but to all of us!

The Rectory Care home has offered such good care to my mum and been so understanding of her dementia needs, which has helped her settle more quickly than i expected.
Every member of the team i have met have been welcoming and supportive on visits and phone conversations.
They keep me informed of mums wellbeing and nothing is ever too much effort.
The residents all look well cared for and my mum in particular hasn't looked this well for a long time. She is comfortable, her room is always clean lovely and homely and she really enjoys all the food.
The home has a really lovely atmosphere when you spend time there, and some really comfortable communal spaces inside and outdoors in the secure garden.
Activities are offered and residents are encouraged and enabled to join in without pressure.

Overall mum is settled, safe and well looked after in a lovely secure environment with warm caring knowledgeable, professionals, giving me peace of mind, a feeling I haven't had for a very long time.
