My Dad spent his final months at St Benedicts in late 2025/early 2026 and the care he received was fantastic. He was treated kindly and with compassion and respect, and his changing needs were more than met at every stage, even when this presented challenges for the team looking after him. Not only that, but myself and other members of my family were warmly welcomed at every visit by the staff, who were friendly and helpful whenever we needed something. The food was of a great standard and the staff thoughtfully offered me something to eat and drink on several occasions when I spent the whole day/weekend visiting. Although Dad was sadly too unwell to participate in many of the activities, I could see that there was a vibrant and varied programme available. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend St Benedicts to anyone looking for care for a loved one. Thank you to the whole team.

Our Dad spent the last year of his life at St Benedicts and was warmly welcomed from the very start.
Every single member of staff treated Dad with kindness and respect making sure he was always clean and comfortable.
We were constantly amazed by the fabulous standard of home cooked meals offered ,Dad particularly liked the breakfasts!
As he grew frailer the support given to him and all of us a family was second to none, and for that we will be forever grateful.

I would highly recommend St Benedicts to anyone looking for good family friendly care.

I have made a number of visits to St Benedicts, wearing more than one hat. On every visit, almost always unannounced, I have been welcomed warmly, with politeness, and the staff always willing to help.
All the staff I have spoken to are courteous and considerate, they are never put out by my visits and always show nothing but patience and respect.
More importantly they are engaged with the residents whatever time of day I have visited. Activities are consistent not sporadic and individual requirements are always considered and respected.

St Benedicts are communicative, knowledgeable and principled. Their residents are people not faces and that matters.

All the staff at the home have been above and beyond in everything they do. They have made the last 6 weeks of my father's life comfortable. They have been outstanding in looking after him. He was always cleanly shaven and washed everyday. They really care and have a passion about their work and take a great deal of pride in there work. In short they care, the team is like one big family. I would recommend this home to everyone. Thank you.

We will never be able to thank everyone at St. Benedicts for what they have done for our mum, and all of us. You have nurtured, loved and cared for Mum, showing her dignity, kindness and respect. You have become a 'family' for our Mum and us. When we have needed guidance and support your staff have always been there. During the last few days of our precious Mum's life your nursing home has become our home. You have not just loved and cared for Mum but for all of us too and for this we will always be grateful.

The care everyone has given our lovely Mum has been incredible. All members of staff are caring, kind and respectful. Not only has our mum been nurtured, but so has our dad during his visits to Mum. The staff have taken time to get to know them both which has meant the world. In the last days of Mum's life the home has become our home and the staff our extended family. We have no words to explain how grateful and thankful we are for all of your love.

Would highly recommend St Benedicts Nursing Home in Glastonbury to everybody. My dad Robbie was only with them from October to when he sadly passed away in December as it was end of life care. From the moment my dad arrived the kindness, compassion and care from all the nurses, carers and management was truly outstanding. They truly go above and beyond to not only provide the most top level of care for there residents but also have so much care and support for family members too. They treat all the residents like there own family members. Have the upmost level of care and a true place for residents to call there home. All the staff deserve the upmost praise and admiration in everything they do here at st benedicts and you will always have a special place in all our hearts and never be forgotten for everything you done.

My friends, a married couple had a double room here at the end of their life.

Firstly, the help and information provided by the manager when I first enquired about the placement was so helpful, she went above and beyond. My husband and I had a lovely meeting with her and nothing was too much trouble. Especially as I didn't know the ropes.

My friends were really happy there, settled in quickly, no pressure to do more than they wanted to. We could visit anytime, the nurses and care staff were excellent and kept me informed regularly. They were all so respectful of my friends wishes in everything, especially their medical care.

I couldn't of wished for them to be in a better place, I was so pleased that they had such wonderful care at the end, I have nothing but praise and respect for the staff here. It was a pleasure to get to know them and we really appreciate all their hard work.

I will be forever grateful for the care given to my late father Anthony, known as Tony. He loved his time there and he got to know all the staff and felt really at home. They were all so lovely to him and treated him with great dignity, kindness and respect. My Dad loved making a joke and enjoyed telling the staff all about his life and what he'd got up to in his past and had a real connection to some of them. Myself and my family felt very welcomed when visiting and couldn't fault his room, we were allowed to make it feel very homely with his personal belongings. It is with great sadness that I recently lost my Dad as he was loved so very much but we'll always remember St Benedict's with fondness and appreciation for how well my Dad was looked after. I would recommend this care home for anyone looking for their relatives.

Mum spent her final 2 1/2 very happy years being looked after by the caring and dedicated staff. Whenever we visited we were warmly welcomed with tea or coffee, in fact we felt like one of the family. Since my husband came to St Benedict's, although it's a long way for me to come, I could not be happier with the treatment he has received. The manager and staff are very helpful and considerate, obviously, my husband is borderline dementia and would rather be at home, he appears, on the whole, settled.

The care home staff from all areas are excellent and very compassionate and willing to tailor support for my mum who was admitted back in September 2024 with complex needs.

Nothing is too much trouble for them and they really try to make every resident feel welcome and engaged in very trying circumstances. The facilities are clean and well-maintained and the standards of care are what you would expect for a loved one. I would thoroughly recommend St Benedicts Nursing Home to anyone who is considering placing someone there.

My mum was at St Benedicts (The Deanery). Over the last few days of her life the love, support and compassion both Mum and I received was outstanding, especially from two particular members of the care team. When I was sitting with Mum the staff came in to comfort me and to check that Mum was comfortable. She had clean bedding and clean clothes every day and they even painted her nails. I would like to think that Mum was aware that she was having a manicure (she would have loved it!) and I can't thank them enough for this kindness. I was with Mum when she passed away peacefully and was comforted by Mum's special carer. No words can adequately say how wonderful the staff were at this sad time.

I hope and trust that the management and owner realise how lucky they are to have such a special, dedicated and wonderfully caring team who enabled Mum to enjoy the last 3 years of her life and for me to know that she was being so well looked after. I will always be in their debt.

Human Angels. In September 2023 my father was admitted to St Benedict's Nursing Home in Glastonbury after spending most of the summer at the Royal United Hospital in Bath. He left hospital with a very complicated diagnosis of 'acquired haemophilia', which is an incredibly rare and terminal condition. Coupled with diabetes and dementia the challenge was going to be great. The care and attention at St Ben's was exceptional and we not only thank them for the care of my father, but also for the care and compassion we all received. My father passed away peacefully on, 17th November, 2023. It would be unjust to single out any individuals, as clearly the overarching culture at the home is outstanding. As a family, we cannot thank all of the staff enough for their care and support and we believe, they are 'human angels'. We look forward to returning for the anniversary celebrations, to drink with the 'angels', to our beloved Dad and husband.

Having to make a decision as to where to place a loved one when they are at their most vulnerable is one of the most traumatic and hardest I have ever had to make but I needn't have worried. From the very first time I visited St Benedicts, I knew Mum would be safe and well cared for. The whole team at St Benedicts showed immense professionalism and the highest standard of care to not only Mum but the family as well. All the staff were amazing with Mum and they all saw past her illness and treated her with respect and dignity. Everything that could be done for Mum was done and nothing was ever too much. We were always greeted with a smile and made to feel like part of St Benedicts family. Communication between us and the staff was brilliant. We will never be able to thank everyone enough for the care they showed Mum in the last weeks of her life. We had peace of mind knowing that when we left her after visiting she was safe, happy and well looked after.

Ann originally trained to become a Registered Nurse at the Charing Cross Hospital in Fulham, qualifying in 1986, and worked across a range of disciplines before relocating to Somerset in 2003. She joined us full-time in 2008.

She says: "I realised how much I enjoyed working in a nursing home environment and making a difference to the residents living there - I so love hearing our residents laughing. For me, the key is dignity, independence, respect for our residents – and having them enjoy their lives."

When not at work, Ann enjoys walking her dog, running, swimming, eating “posh nosh”, spending time in Cornwall and travelling around the UK in her VW camper van, holidays abroad, watching F1 racing and birds, and watercolour painting.

Another highlight is celebrating milestones with residents, their families and friends and the best part, by far, is sharing wonderful words of praise and gratitude about our staff.”
