My review relates to the period of my mother's presence at St George's from last August up to June of this year. During this time I have been very satisfied with all aspects of her care. Any issues of concern have been thoroughly and sensitively handled, in particular by the manager. All in all my mother is generally happy and very well cared for in a relaxed but very professionally managed environment which gives myself and my family members much peace of mind. For this we are most grateful.

We visited our stepsister for her 80th birthday party. A room had been set aside for the use of guests, a table had been beautifully decorated, and a delicious cake was provided made to the specification of the birthday girl.
The staff were helpful, friendly but professional, and discreet.

After the birthday tea we spent time in our stepsister's room which is clean and comfortable.

Each time we have visited, the staff have been genuinely concerned for our stepsister and have made huge efforts to help her with her problems and difficulties. Their care and help is now bearing fruit, as she has made great progress in mobility and is settled and happy.

I have visited my friend most days since her admission just over three months ago. I have always been welcomed, kept informed of my friends progress. I am her next of kin and have power of attorney. Pauline has received excellent, kind care throughout, coping with her many needs including mixed dementia, registered blind, frail, and previous history of falls. She always looks clean, neat and tidy in her own clothes.

My Mum has been at St. Georges now for 6 weeks after having to leave her Assisted Living Home very quickly due to failing health. The staff at St. Georges have shown kindness and helpfulness not only to my Mum but to all Family who have visited. They have made, what could have been a traumatic time, a comfortable and reassuring process.

Whilst still early days, Mum has settled in well, enjoys the food and finds the staff really helpful and caring.

Very friendly and caring staff. The residents are well looked after with care and dignity. (I'm told!) the food is excellent and there always seem to be activities going on. Visitors are always offered a hot drink when visiting, which is a nice tough. Absolutely no issues.

Mum has been at St George's since August 2024. I could try hard but couldn't find fault with the care she receives. The carers are very caring, considerate, respectful and give the impression that nothing is too much trouble. Mum herself says they are lovely. The food is cooked on the premises and is very good. If medical issues arise they are picked up on and treated. The general atmosphere is one of friendliness and good cheer. Mum celebrated her 104th birthday last year. She received a birthday cake baked in St George's kitchen, a goody bag and lots of cards. Extra effort is given to celebrate special days on the calendar and decorate the home to match the occasion. Whenever we visit my husband and I find the staff all very friendly. The management is proactive and very positive and it is this attitude which is reflected throughout St George's.

Dad has been a resident of St George's since August 2024. He has become extremely frail over the last couple of months but the staff and management have looked after Dad and catered for all his needs fantastically. The home has a very friendly approach in everything they do and nothing ever seems to be too much trouble. His sight has almost gone and his hearing isn't brilliant but as a family, we feel happy that he is safe, warm, fed and looked after at St George's, we are so glad we chose this care home. The only comment I would make is that the call button does sometimes take a while to answer, but then there are other residents to look after.

This year was my mum's first at St. George's. It could not have been better. The staff were so thoughtful, kind and supportive and entered into the Christmas celebrations wholeheartedly. They could not have done more to make it an inclusive and fun festive season.
Mum was 99 just after Christmas and again, the staff were wonderful in making this a great celebration for her, including all her friends at St George's.

Our family is delighted that Mum is so happy and very well cared for in this lovely home.

Overall we are very pleased with the home and standard of care. It is well managed and all the staff from carers to managers are very approachable and helpful. My mother occasionally feels that she has to wait a while for her call bell to be answered but we understand that carers have other residents to deal with. Overall we would highly recommend this care home to other potential residents.

My dad's been at St George's for 5 years now following a stroke which left him with mobility issues that made it impossible for us to care for him at home.
We count ourselves as lucky to have found him a place at St George's. The care he receives is absolutely fantastic. The home is a lovely comfortable place, with excellent home-cooked food, and the cheerful and attentive staff who maintain a wonderful positive atmosphere. His medical care has also been first rate and we have always been able to discuss and address any concerns about his care with senior staff.

Highly recommended.

My mother moved in early this year. The staff are welcoming and friendly and hard working. Mum is celiac, no gluten or wheat allowed, the staff have managed to cater for her special diet and the cook has been very accommodating.

Mum joins in the daily activities and has made friends and settled in very quickly.

We would like to thank all the staff for the excellent care and attention our mother received whilst in your care. She was only with you for a few short months. Yet you managed to make her last few months as happy and as comfortable as possible. I would highly recommend your home to anyone looking for a residential home for a relative.

My mum went into St George's Residential Home for Respite Care at the beginning of February. She visited it on a Saturday and moved in the next day. She found all the staff to be caring and attentive to her needs. Within about 48 hours she told me on the telephone (I'm her only child and have lived in France for over 40 years) that she intended to stay there until the end of her life because she was so happy. I visited the home for the first time on the Eve of her death and again on the day when she died suddenly, having spent the afternoon chatting with me. I can therefore say I saw how great the staff were at dealing with both my mum and me immediately after her death. Her final days were happy ones thanks to St George's.

The staff are all extremely attentive to my aunt's needs. She has been unwell this month and communication has been good. It’s hard as I don’t live nearby and am next of kin, but the manager makes a real effort to involve me and keep in touch. My only wish would be for the option of a shower/wet room rather than a bath, hence lower score for room.

The home provides its residents with a secure, relaxed and homely environment in which the care, well-being and comfort of all residents are of prime importance.

Carers will use their best endeavours to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents within a warm and caring atmosphere, and will be sensitive to the residents changing needs. Such needs may be medical/therapeutic (for physical and mental welfare), cultural, psychological, spiritual, emotional and social, and residents are encouraged to participate in the development of their individual care plans, in which the involvement of family and friends is appropriate and valued.

This will be achieved through programmes of activities designed to encourage mental alertness, self-esteem, and social interaction with other residents and with recognition of core values of care including privacy, dignity, rights, independence, choice and fulfilment. These are fundamental to the philosophy of the home which is drawn from the highest family values.

All care staff within the home will be qualified appropriately to deliver the highest standards of care. A continuous staff training programme is implemented to ensure that these high standards are maintained in line with the latest developments in Care Practices as may be laid down in appropriate legislation, regulations and the Care Quality Commission or such other regulatory body as may be in vogue at the time.
