I find the home & my Mums room is always very clean & tidy. The meal portions are plentiful and they cater for my Mums diet.
I have no hesitation in saying my Mum is extremely well cared for and safe at Bablake House.

Thank you from all of us at Bablake House for your incredibly kind words. It means so much to hear that you felt supported too. I'm so glad we could be there for you both during such a difficult time, and that you always found cleanliness, good food, and a safe environment to rely on. That's exactly what we strive for every single day. We're honoured to have your trust, and your Mum is very much part of our Bablake family. With warmest regards,

Bablake is a "care home" but is more than that, it's a home that cares. All the staff (care assistants, managers, domestics and maintenance) were all extremely kind and understanding of my dad's quirkiness and cared for him with compassion and professionalism. They would sit and chat with him in his room as he was bed-bound and couldn't take part in the regular activities
The staff also took the time to ask and check on my well being.
Sadly he is no longer with us, but I'm still visiting regularly as Mom is now under their care

I'm so proud of our whole team - carers, domestics, maintenance, everyone - for showing your Dad such compassion and respect, especially when he couldn't join in activities. And the fact that you still visit regularly because your Mum is now with us that speaks volumes, and we don't take that trust lightly. We're here for you and your family, always. With heartfelt thanks

In particular, Michelle the manager has been going above and beyond to break the communication barrier as my mum is struggling to speak English due to her dementia.
The love and care shown has made an enormous difference to my mum who is now feeling much more confident.
It's a shame these stories are not shared with those at Government level as they should be. Hopefully the care system gets the support in the future it deserves to continue to provide the high level of care that this care home is currently providing.
The elderly deserve quality care and treated with love and dignity. Thanks to this care home, my mum is getting this.
Thank you for your kind words My team strive to achieve the best care possible at all times and in any situation
My father joined Bablake House and was in poor condition both physically and mentally. Right from me first visiting the care home to make an enquiry the staff were amazing and I knew this was the right place for dad. I cannot fault the care, respect and dignity that was shown to him right up to him...
The senior team and management have been so supportive to myself ,in particular, and feel they cared for my own wellbeing as much as they were looking after the care for dad.
The care team have been amazing and kept a careful eye on my father from the outset. As his daughter, I could not have asked for better for him.
On his passing they have been thoughtful, caring and supportive to me. I cannot fault Bablake House, their staff, their standard of care or their drive for their residents. Thank you everyone!
Thank you for your kind words, i have passed this on to the team and the team spoke highly about your father and it was a pleasure to care for him.

Bablake House is outstanding. The home is spotless, fresh and always clean. Staff clean touch points and equipment throughout the day. The care team are kind, skilled and know residents well. My nan is always comfortable, dressed and happy. The manager is exceptional and sets the standard for everyone. She leads by example, supports her team, gives hands-on care and makes sure families are kept informed. She knows every resident and treats people with real warmth and respect. Meals are home cooked and well presented, with snacks, supper and plenty of drinks offered. The building and grounds are beautiful, and my nan's room is perfect. The home runs smoothly, staff respond quickly and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. My nan feels safe, valued and settled. She now lives here by choice, and as a family we are so thankful for the manager and her brilliant team.
Thank you for your kind words, i am very proud of the team and receiving reviews like this show our hard work and dedication is appreciated

Mum was moved into Bablake House from hospital initially for a spell of re-enablement/respite and has now moved out of the area to a care home closer to myself and family. All very well organised and the management and care teams have been very helpful and supportive - both while she was there and with the move. It was also good not to be made to feel a nuisance when phoning for a chat with mum! Would have been happy for mum to have stayed there longer term were it not for the fact that it's a long way to visit on a regular basis.
Thank you for your lovely words and i truly hope your mum settles well in her new home.

My Mum was a resident at Bablake House for five years and the care she received throughout her time there was absolutely first class. Mum would often tell me how happy she was there and was convinced that it was the care she received from the staff at the home that helped her to live as long as she did. Whenever I visited Mum was always looked well cared for, was clean, and very engaged in what was going on in the home. I saw her on many occasions at meal times and she always had a really good variety of food, which she invariably wolfed down. The home had regular activities which she would join in with, and she was constantly treated with warmth and dignity by all the staff. They were also very good at keeping in touch with me. The quality of the facilities, and the location, are both lovely, I don't think Mum could have wanted for more.

Mum unfortunately cannot live with my family anymore, due to complex health needs. Knowing that she is being well cared for by the team at Bablake House is a huge relief for me and my family. She is warm and well fed and the carers are all sensitive to her needs. The home was recommended by a colleague of mine, and I would recommend it to others as well.
I would like to say thank you for your kind review; the staff at Bablake House work hard, and I know they will appreciate your comments.

My mother has been living at Bablake House since January 2023. Due to deteriorating ill health and lack of family members to keep her independent, I had to make the tough decision to find her a safe and comfortable care home. The senior staff members have been a constant support for both her and myself. Nothing is too much trouble and they've helped us physically and mentally. The domestic staff have been constant throughout her stay and they know her individual likes and dislikes, helping her to navigate her TV viewing. The support staff in the main are a constant too making interaction easy, on a first-name basis. This home is the closest to real life that I found throughout a thorough search. The food is cooked on-site and was a major factor in our choice as many homes only offer pre-packed meals. As my mother's condition declines with each week/month, the home has helped me to cope with this and I know that when I can't be with her, she is safe, warm and well cared for.
I would like to thank you for your lovely review, I will ensure all of the staff are aware of your kind words. I know the team at Bablake House works hard and I would like to thank you for letting them know their work is appreciated.

My aunt had been living alone for many years, though with increasing mobility problems and memory issues after a fall and eight weeks in hospital and on step-down support, it was clear she needed full-time residential care and though she only moved into Bablake House in early May 2024, we've been very pleased with the support she's receiving. Whenever we visit, all the staff are cheery and seem happy in their work and we've seen first-hand that my aunt receives regular visits in her room. The staff are trying hard to encourage her to come out of her room and join others in the lounge or dining room, as have we: no joy yet but it's not for want of trying on their part. All the staff are helpful and supportive and her care is proactive - realising she's tending to lie on the bed too long, my aunt now has a pumped air mattress to protect her, even before we could ask if it might be needed: that's real care and attention.
I would like to say thank you for this review the staff do work really hard. I will make sure they are all aware of your kind words. Thank you again.

Thank you very much for your insightful and thoughtful review. The scores you give us 5 stars are a reflection of the care we try and give all of our clients and the staff are 100% because of that. Thank you very much for your insightful and thoughtful review. The scores you give us 5 stars are a reflection of the care we try and give all of our clients and the staff are 100% because of that. Where you have scored us 4 stars I would very much appreciate you giving some feedback to the manager about how things could be better... we love to improve! I know the cleanliness and rooms have suffered recently due to the ongoing extension and refurbishment and I am hoping that is the reason. Still, any feedback you can give our manager would sincerely be received well and improvements looked for. That said, I will pass on your review whilst keeping it confidential, of course, and I know they will be delighted. Thank you once again.

My father was taken to this home for respite after being in hospital. I hated him being here and if there was an option to have removed him sooner we would have done. Staff were slow to respond to his needs or that of other residents, staff were often nowhere to be seen and there was a number of occasions where I had to intervene when residents were in trouble an example of this was on a Saturday evening where one resident had taken something off another one, there were threats and concerning behaviour so I went to find a carer and there were none about so I had to calm the situation down. When I complained to the manager she responded with "I'm not even meant to be working tonight". My dad was unhappy here often left in a circle of ladies despite me telling them on a number of occasions that my dad was a man's man. The final straw was when I overheard the supervisor say when patting the dog of a visitor that she'd much rather be around animals than people!

I am really saddened to read this review. I would like to think that all resident and relatives who leave Bablake House have a positive outcome. I am always available to assist residents and relatives coming back into the home if I am needed, I am unaware of the comment about not working on Saturday evening. The mention of staff being slow to respond I will take to the next staff meeting where this will be discussed and lessons learnt. Again I am sorry that this experience was not a good one for this family and we will use this review and to improve our standards moving forward. Also, I would like to thank our hard-working and dedicated staff, at Bablake House and in all Care Homes for their dedication and hard work over the past two months. Also everyone please keep safe. The Manager
