Mum has been a resident at Woodlands Gate for almost four years now and I must say that it has always had a lovely family atmosphere to it, which still remains to this day. Her health had generally been quite steady, but she is now in advanced dementia, which requires more attention. She also developed
a couple of pressure sores about 12 months ago, one of which progressed to a Grade 4 (worst category) and which hadn't improved for a while and was deteriorating quite rapidly. Since the appointment of the new manager, Deborah, in April 2025, things have certainly taken a turn for the better. Deb has been leading her Team by example with her skill, professionalism and compassion and I have often seen her roll up her sleeves to help out where necessary. There has been a noticeable improvement lately in the standard of care being given to mum (who is now healing nicely), by the dedicated and hard-working staff Deb has now working for her. Many thanks to you all.

My mother spent the last year of her life at Woodlands Gate during a time when her dementia was rapidly getting worse. The staff could not have been more caring, looking after Mom with love, kindness and patience throughout. The empathy shown to us as a family as she was coming to the end of her life
was more than we could have hoped for. If you are looking for a care home for someone you love, look no further.

Mom moved here in September 2023 after several lengthy and stressful hospital stays. From the outset, she was made to feel extremely welcome (as though she had been there forever!) and she has improved remarkably in the last 4 months. She is settled and happy which is wonderful to see. The management
team are very efficient and professional, and the friendly and hard-working staff make sure that the residents are very well cared for and kept safe. The food is lovely, all freshly made, and there are activities and events to keep residents happy and occupied. The care home is very clean and the rooms are spotless. I can't recommend this home enough.

My father-in-law moved to Woodlands in August 2022. He is well cared for and all the staff are lovely. He has dementia and wanted to go home but that was not an option - since being at Woodlands, he has not once asked to go home. We are unable to visit very often but it makes life easier knowing he
is well looked after, safe and cared for. Thank you to everyone.

Mum is happy and comfortable at Woodlands. She is well cared for by the staff and we are very satisfied with the home.

My mom has been at Woodlands Gate since May 2023 the staff are all lovely and make sure that the residents are all looked after and kept safe and well. It was my mom's 90th birthday recently and I was very pleased with the care they took in making sure she had a very special birthday. Our family is

Moved Mom from a nursing home to a smaller and more homely residence. From the outset, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly, especially the management team. Residents and staff went out of their way to welcome Mom and help her settle in. Would definitely recommend this home.

Lovely and friendly home with caring staff who support the residents. Food is good quality and a varied menu for breakfast and lunch with sandwiches and cakes for tea. More than enough quantity for older people. Activities are organised on a regular basis. Dad really appreciates the lady who visits

We have already recommended this care home to a friend, it is hard to find anything that could be improved. The staff are very caring and professional, they put the resident and guests at ease, the food is excellent and each resident is catered for their personal needs. Overall, we don't think we could

I have always found the staff at Woodlands Gate Rest Home to be of a caring, considerate and sympathetic nature. They have always come across as individuals who have a vocation, rather than just a job and are genuinely interested in the well-being of the residents, ultimately, irrespective of anything

My father was moved to Woodlands Gate straight from hospital. As we knew nothing about the care home we obviously had some concerns but as things have turned out, we had no reason to.
My father has dementia and was recovering from pneumonia and the care he has received has been first-class and in
the time he has been in the care home the level of recovery he has made is incredible.
He has a really nice room with an ensuite and a lovely view overlooking the garden. The staff are excellent and are professional and caring and have been so kind and patient with my father. He is always clean and smart whenever I see him and he is very happy. If ever I have any queries the staff always have time to talk to me and I have learnt so much from them in how best to deal with my father's dementia. My father always enjoys the meals which are varied and well thought out.
My father thinks he is in a 5-star hotel and I can see why. The care home has been excellent and I would highly recommend it.

My father was sent to Woodlands Gate from the hospital to recover/regain his strength, the care is excellent and the staff really lovely, they really do care about their residents. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Woodlands Gate to anyone looking for a care/residential home.

My mother was a resident for nearly six months at Woodlands Gate. During her residency; she was treated with care, dignity and compassion. She was looked after very well and with affection by the staff, and the end of life, she was given care and respect. We as a family are very content that she spent
her last months safe, secure and treated as a person and that we could visit every day if required.
Woodlands itself is light and spacious with several rooms for day use. The bedroom was adequately furnished, and users can take items to make it more personnel. There are activities should the residents wish to participate, and mealtimes have a variety of choice.
Overall, we are very happy that Mom was a resident at Woodlands Gate. Thank you to all the staff.

Woodlands Gate offers exceptional care. The staff make a real effort to provide a sensitive and compassionate environment. Communication is first class, both to residents and family members. My father was in the care of Woodlands Gate for two years and three months. He was happy there for the duration of his stay and at no time did he ever express a desire to leave the home. I always found his room to be clean and tidy and the home itself to be very clean with no odour. This I always thought
was very impressive, particularly as I lived over 200 miles from the home and at no time did I give advance notice of my visits.
I have nothing but praise for the staff who I always found to be helpful and caring. I have no hesitation in recommending Woodlands Gate for any families who have to make the difficult decision of choosing a care home for their loved ones.

My mother appears to be well cared for. The staff are kind and diligent. Since coming into the home, my mother appears more cheerful and relaxed than when she was living at home. There is a pleasant friendly atmosphere at the home, the residents are treated with respect.

The care which is provided is excellent. My very close friend came here 9 weeks ago. The staff show empathy to the residents and care. The food selection is good. The staff have always been kind and friendly towards me and my dog when we visit. Very understanding and very helpful and for this, I am
