The setting and surrounds are a delight, with beautifully maintained grounds in a rural peaceful location.
The home itself is clean, full of character, warm and welcoming. The entire building always smells fresh and is a pleasure to visit.
Staff here appear to be friendly, at ease, happy in their
work. Care is therefore provided with a smile and feels genuine and professional. The residents are always well dressed, as though time and care have been taken by staff, to maintain an individuals dignity and personality.
Bedrooms are basic but clean and tidy, many with really pretty views.
Recently security has been upgraded and as such, the entrance doors are now secured to prevent "wanderings".
Xmas activities were plentiful, varied and really well received by the residents.
All in all, this is a beautifully presented home, that feels warm and caring for residents and for visitors. I would imagine it would be difficult to find a better care facility.
A total pleasure to visit. Every time.

We moved my aunt to Dunley Hall in January 2017. At her previous Care Home she showed signs of severe stress, frequently asking "get me out of here", and this in a home recommended by a social worker! Her doctor recommended to the home manager that she be allowed to have some quiet time on her own during
the daytime, but this did not happen. She was frequently dressed in someone else's clothes, and I saw her items on other residents, in addition, some clothing went missing altogether and it was all marked with her name. I even saw an occasion when she was given a meat item to eat when she is vegetarian.
Since her move to Dunley Hall, the change in her demeanour has been remarkable. She always looks well cared for and is visibly happy and content. She loves the gardens at Dunley Hall which are extremely well kept and also the wildlife she can see through the window.

I have used Dunley Hall for almost 2 years in connection with/for my partner.

I find staff helpful and friendly each time I visit (at least every 4/5 days) and at varying times. It is never an effort to see staff and I have rarely been in any communial room when a member of staff in not also in there.

Super

quality furnishings do not make up for caring carers of the standard I have experienced here.

My partner is not stressed and is comfortably at ease and bantering with all the staff.

Our experience as a family was always very positive. My mother was always very happy and loved all the carers who became her friends. Nothing was ever too much trouble whatever time of day or night. We always felt totally confident that mum was in safe caring hands. Any questions, I could always talk
to the managers and they would sort out any problems. My mother had a few weeks at Dunley Hall for respite care and always told me if she ever needed to go anywhere permanently then it would be Dunley Hall. It was a decision she never regretted.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.105)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.105) out of 10 for Dunley Hall & Ryans Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.648 for Dunley Hall & Ryans Court is calculated as follows: ( (52 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.648
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.457 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Dunley Hall & Ryans Court is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 7 = 0.857
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
