Abacus Care Home

The staff are always warm and welcoming, the home clean and warm and its clear the team have developed a fondness for J. They constantly show care and concern for wellbeing and also quality of life. We have seen J flourish and settle over the past few month looking happier, healthier, and becoming the person we though we'd lost 2-3 years ago. For us it has brought a huge sense of relief and reassurance that we made the right decision. I would have no hesitation in recommending Abacus to friends and family

Abacus provided a warm, friendly and caring environment for my father. Their care allowed him to be much more comfortable, particularly at night, than when he was 'at home, alone'. He was treated with great respect, and the staff listened to his needs.

My only ask is if there could be a few more regular activities organised.

Abacus have been brilliant at welcoming my nan to the home and supporting the family on the transition. Every time I visit the home, the staff are friendly and welcoming. It's been a real relief to know that my nan is well looked after, encouraged to get involved with activities and make the most of her days at Abacus. This is evidenced by noticeable improvement of her condition. Abacus is really a place where my nan can flourish.

All the staff are so caring and very respectful to family. The home is very clean and cook onsite balanced meals. Mom is thriving with all the care and help and getting involved in all the activities.

A lovely home from home environment. With all the activities and interaction from other residents and staff my nan has settled in really well and has come on leaps and bounds! Despite all the challenges the staff at the care home has ensured my Nans best interests has been at the forefront of every decision made in relation to health and wellbeing whilst supporting the wider family also!

My father was living in abacus since September 2025.

Outstanding place.

He has now passed but at all times staff remained calm, approachable, kind and compassionate. Nothing is or was too much trouble.

Had he been anywhere else he would not have been this well cared for. I have knowledge of some terrible places due to my work.

My grandmother loves it at Abacus. We moved her here after concerns from her previous home. She is now settled and very happy. All the staff are so lovely and treat all residents with kindness and respect. The home feels like a family. My grandmother loves the regular activities and entertainment and she is encouraged to get involved which is really important with her dementia. Over Christmas she attended multiple events and meals outside of the home which she really enjoyed. As someone who works in healthcare and visits care homes regularly there isn't one better than Abacus. I highly recommend to anyone. My grandmother is so loved and cared for.

The social areas are very clean and they are kept this way by the staff the rooms are clean and well decorated and there are home comforts ,tv ,radio and some colourful ornamental flowers all in all it's a brilliant place .

Home is very clean and has a family atmosphere. Mum is very happy there and was made to feel welcome. The staff are attentive, very professional and really friendly to all visitors. The management team are excellent and keep us well informed. Nothing is too much trouble. Very happy that Mum is cared for in an excellent way. Thank you so much.

Just the most perfect environment for my Mum. A warm and friendly atmosphere, with the underline professionalism taking and looking after her every need. Staff are the key to any business, and i can't praise them enough. A place where 'Every one knows your name!'

The staff were helpful and kind and caring as they always are every time I go there.

They have Chinese meals, cheese and biscuit nights, and often have a live singer.

Although my father is not happy about being in a care home he always smiles and starts talking to whichever carer greets us when we take him back after trips out. He doesn't know that he is unable to look after himself alone, but I am very happy that he is looked after 24 hours per day which he really does need.

Abacus Care Home is very clean. The staff, care assistants, cooks and cleaners are very friendly, polite and in my opinion, give 100% dedication to the residents. I've gone in at different times of the day and the atmosphere is always the same. I would highly recommend Abacus to anyone who needs care. The food is always good and well-presented.

The home looks after all my sister's needs and keeps her fairly happy. Conditions in the home are clean, well decorated and bright. Visiting arrangements are good and flexible. All in all, a good professional job is done.

Mum-in-law has been at Abacus Care Home for seven months. We visit regularly and have seen on numerous occasions how the Abacus team interact with the residents in their care. They are always courteous and respectful and attentive to residents needs. Importantly they have a sense of humour. Mum-in-law is always clean and comfortable and her room is also kept clean and fresh.
