Visiting
- The team value the importance of visitors in the lives of residents and fully support their right to maintain contact with family, friends, and loved ones. The visitors policy ensures that visits are welcomed, safe, and respectful of each resident’s personal wishes. Key points of the policy: Open Visiting: Visitors are welcome at any time, unless a resident personally requests limited visits or there is an outbreak of infection, in which case the home will follow health and safety guidance. Resident Choice: Each resident can decide who they want to see, and this choice will be recorded in their care plan. If a resident lacks the capacity to make this decision, the Mental Capacity Act will guide the process to ensure visits still support their best interests. Visitor Registration: All visitors must sign in and out at reception and follow any health and safety procedures in place. Privacy and Respect: Residents have the right to refuse visitors, and this will always be respected. Visitors will not be allowed into other residents’ rooms without express permission. Food and Personal Items: Any food or personal items brought in for a resident must be declared to staff to ensure safety and dietary needs are considered. Infection Control: Visitors who feel unwell, especially with symptoms of transmissible infections (such as flu, COVID-19, or norovirus), are asked to postpone their visit until they are well. Conflict and Safeguarding: If a visitor’s behaviour poses a risk to residents, staff, or the home environment, management will intervene. In serious cases, visits may be restricted or conditions imposed, with advice from the Safeguarding Team if necessary. Outbreak Management: In the event of a public health incident, the home will follow local and national guidance, offering alternatives like video calls or window visits if needed. Feedback and Complaints: Visitors are encouraged to provide feedback and raise any concerns, which will be handled through the Complaints, Suggestions and Compliments Policy. Our goal is to make every visit a positive, safe, and supportive experience for all.

It's been a lovely experience. My grandad was not a fan when he first went in as he has always been independent. However, the staff have welcomed him and helped him with any problems and now he loves it! They have fun days and trips and 5 meals a day! I'd wanna move in! Only problem is laundry, people's clothes get mixed up, but if that's the only problem I'm happy.
Mum settled in very well. Mum is really well looked after by all the staff. Lots of activities and all staff very caring. Cannot fault any of the care Mum receives. Always made to feel very welcome when visiting and the home is always spotlessly clean.
We are very happy with Lanrick House. It's clean and tidy. All the staff are lovely with Mum, she is well dressed and happy. We cannot fault the care she is given. She has settled in very well. We are made very welcome when we visit.
My husband has been a resident at Lanrick Hpuse for the last 18 months. The staff have always treated him with respect and kindness and I cannot fault the care he receives. I have nothing but praise for Lanrick House and I am always made welcome when I visit.
Having placed my dad in two other care homes for respite before permanently staying at Lanrick House I can safely say Lanrick House is the best by far. My dad struggled with new surroundings but settled quickly at Lanrick which is all down to the excellent staff. Their knowledge and understanding of dementia coupled with their warmth and caring attitude has made my dad's stay the best it could be. Lanrick House has many positives but the staff are their biggest asset by far.
I am very pleased and satisfied with the care and attention given to my husband by all the staff at Lanrick House.
The staff have got a great relationship with mum she always seems happy and is always well dressed and clean. The activities are varied, regular and brilliant. Always something going on. The staff adapt well to mum's moods and know how to keep her engaged and happy.
My overall experience has been excellent, all the team have worked very hard to make my brother feel at home. Since he has been there he has made a vast improvement. His room is fabulous and the staff are incredibly attentive.
First-class care is given by first-class carers who are dedicated to looking after all residents with sympathy, empathy and good practice.
My husband has been a resident since January 2022 the home is spotless, well maintained and there is a lovely garden. All the residents are well cared for and there are lots of activities to keep everyone stimulated and the careers are extremely patient and kind. I have been impressed with the attention paid to ongoing health issues. Nothing is too much trouble. I even had a phone call to say birthday cards had arrived for my husband when I had been concerned.
My aunt has prospered very well in Lanrick House in spite of being 91 years old and suffering from Alzhiemers, she is always spotlessly clean and well turned out and is encouraged to eat (which is a difficult area for her). The staff are always friendly and welcoming, the home is spotlessly clean. Throughout the COVID virus outbreak, I have been very happy with all the safety measures that have been put in place and I am impressed by the way it has all been managed.
My only, one tiny, comment is that I would prefer in the update my mom was referred to as 'resident' and not 'service user'.
When I have needed to know what is going on during this bad time I have been informed on all the situations. I know that my sister-in-law is being cared for and all seems very well done. Top marks for all the carers and staff.
The staff, the facilities and the leadership are outstanding.
My mum is happy, safe and well cared for at the home.
The activities organised are amazing.
My aunt has been at Lanrick House for three months now and the improvement we’ve seen in her has been wonderful. She seems so much more alert than she used to be. At her previous home, we frequently found her asleep or non-communicative, which is very rare now. We put this down to the stimulation she receives, which was previously lacking, especially from the activities coordinator. Most of the staff seem to enjoy their work and have an excellent rapport with the residents, each other and the management. The home has a buzz and vibrancy about it. Everyone there went to great lengths for my aunt’s 100th birthday last month. The manager personally prepared a wonderful buffet and decorated three rooms and arranged for a singer to attend to make the day extra special. We are so pleased we chose Lanrick House, which has the added advantage of specialising in dementia care. Our thanks to everyone there.
The home is clean, tidy and all of the staff are lovely.
My general opinion of this care home suits the needs of my aunt.
I find the new management and staff outstanding. The improvements to Lanrick House are a tremendous boost.
